Donald Tusk still includes "No Brexit" as an option - and he's been close to May recently. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/european-council-president-donald-tusk-raises-prospect-of-no-brexit-saying-its-up-to-london-how-a3666221.html

She can't just conjure a trade agreement out of thin air in 2019. It's difficult to read her mind :)

Looks like it was fake - and one or the other sides - or the press playing games. The Times (can only see first paragraph or so) still blames Martin Selmayr and others are blaming Nick Timothy for trying to set-up Selmayr. Oh the dark arts are back (if they ever went away after Campbell and Mandelson) https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/leak-will-only-stir-up-suspicions-between-britain-and-brussels-r9h8jw3mw

When staff give conflicting messages it's usually a management issue in my experience. Sounds almost like they're being told conflicting things.

Juncker can't resist another little dig. Edit: actually people saying it's his aide - who denies it http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-theresa-may-jean-claude-juncker-private-dinner-brussels-a8014741.html

I think they can veto at phase 1 too.
  9. Still don't understand the violence used here - do the authorities actually work on what motivates people like this - loads of times men approach me and obviously want a pound or so - they don't get violent (even though I wonder sometimes if they're assessing whether they could).
  10. Swansea water is very soft, London quite hard, but once you get used to the difference it's OK. Any bleach smell will probably be chlorine http://dwi.defra.gov.uk/consumers/advice-leaflets/chlorine.pdf

So the bill the EU will accept is 60B Euros according to this. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/feb/24/eu-politicians-back-brussels-call-for-uk-to-pay-60bn-exit-bill-before-trade-talks I think Theresa May will end up paying this.
  13. One of the children at the bus stop on Rye Lane set off one this morning. I did check they hadn't hurt themselves or others.

Seems to be accepted that these probably won't get through now. But you never know.

There's an emotion coming out of Brussels at the moment, it feels a bit like pity. The EU are actually feeling sorry for the position Theresa May is in, or maybe they just don't want her gone because of the people that might take over.
  16. Spoons Tower Bridge - I like that suggestion but don't think the OP will pick it :)

Corbyn's been greeted as a hero in Brussels by the Centre Left group. May must feel stalked sometimes :) https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/oct/19/jeremy-corbyn-tells-theresa-may-and-eu-leaders-to-stop-posturing-brexit-talks Ex head of MI6 wants a James Bond Brexit according to the Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4996870/Ex-MI6-head-said-UK-s-spies-need-investment-post-Brexit.html or no Brexit at all according to the Mirror http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/brexit-might-not-happen-would-11370367

I have a bit of this about me in my ultra remain moments, It's not to say 'I told you so' though - it's to force a change of direction or change of government or second referendum (if you say that explicitly be prepared to get called remaino-fascist )
  19. Oh and as the Standard says "The law states that using or selling fireworks illegally in the UK could land an offender either a fine of up to ?5,000 and a six month stretch in prison. " So children with them are buying them illegally or getting them from parents. So the law is in place.

It's not acceptable - but it happens - and much less than in the past. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/reckless-youths-slammed-for-launching-lit-firework-onto-london-bus-a3661876.html it's still the children doing it themselves who are most at danger IMHO - fireworks sometimes just explode, or go off when in your pocket. I haven't seen a single warning yet this year however. Edit: London Grime to me = Stormzy.
  21. The jumping jacks were scary (not when we played with them but now I look back). We put them in peoples (meaning other childrens) pockets :) How we made it to adulthood. Anyway I think this thread happens every year.

I know - I don't like Osborne at all - but his revenge mission gets me going like Kill Bill (I've never seen anyone be so vindictive since Uma Thurman - and she had good reason)
  23. When I've had bank cards fraudulently used in the past - I've always been told by my bank not to report to the police and it's already being dealt with (by the bank) Maybe Apple could set-up their own investigations unit.

OECD has more or less told Theresa May to back away from Brexit but a Government Spokesman has said there will be no going back. Are the rest of the world warning her? Maybe have a word in the toilets at the next Bilderberg. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/second-referendum-to-reverse-brexit-would-bring-significant-boost-to-uk-economy-a3660746.html
