We walked - but were totally irresponsible (as children were then) We'd just decide to go somewhere after school and not bother to tell parents - cue loads of worried parents - but in the 70s you were supposed to encourage children to be independent so they never stopped us.

Whereas in other countries they vote for a president and for a parliament (or 2) At present there's not much choice (and Corbyn confirmed this morning he's going no where)
  7. So what is May announcing now.
  8. and the below is what worries me most as it seems similar to problems at some football clubs in the past. "The reasons given by the companies for the dividends was the need to move funds on to pay down amassed debts sometimes taken on by holding companies through the purchase of the water companies themselves. " https://www.theguardian.com/business/2012/nov/10/utilities-water-bills

But I suppose the question is what are the terms of the loans and how does that compare to public debt when you also take into account that these debts also mean the company doesn't pay tax.
  10. I love it (the net) - lots of advice to spray wasps nests with WD40 (it does everything but nothing depending who you listen too). But do it at night as wasps never attack in the night. (take both of those statements with a pinch of salt)
  11. Back in the day it was a kettle of boiling water and cooked ant or this http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/nippon-ant-killer-liquid-30ml
  12. Someone blew Vape smoke in my face the other day Rather Seventiesesque - didn't it used to mean they fancied you :).

Not only will he go on now - but if he loses the election by a landslide - he'll still go on.

"We invite as many Award recipients as possible to attend a presentation at St James?s Palace. As space in the State Apartments is limited you are only able to bring one personal guest, who must be over the age of 16." http://www.dofe.info/go/londongapinfo/#Pre_invitation

It is getting a bit WWE. '.. recent comments from Martin Selmayr, the European commission president?s chief of staff, who has claimed the commission will only allow 30 minutes of thinking time a week for Brexit issues, Schinas added: ?This week it?s up.? '

I'd accept that figure and as the Guardian is obviously Pro I found a Mail article from 2013 with a little map and arrows. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2271320/How-migrants-sending-335BILLION-struggling-families-home--times-worlds-total-aid-budget.html But I still wouldn't support stopping this (it's still money they have earned IMHO).

  21. The only time I had a bad enough argument to block someone on twitter it was about Jeremy Clarkson. So should he have been sacked ?
  22. I noticed recently a big big difference between asking prices and sold prices.
  23. A bit tongue in cheek - but I think the remainers might well be next in line for blame. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/theresa-may-is-already-blaming-brussels-for-the-failure-of-brexit-and-it-will-be-the-remainers-next-a7716361.html
  24. According to this website they're not protected and will move if disturbed to another potential earth (they scout them out) http://www.thefoxwebsite.net/faq/urbanfoxproblems#q14 there's a moral viewpoint too though that they are left.
  25. If Theresa May doesn't lose votes after her recent outbursts then she never will. Accusing our international partners of trying to sabotage the election - they're all in bed with Corbyn no doubt.
