It's not going to end well https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/may/04/merkel-sees-may-erdogan-downing-street-le-pen-no-10-brexit It;s not a parent relationship I agree - it's an adult relationship that is in my view symbiotic. I think leaving the EU is a huge loss - others disagree and think we gain - I don't think that's going to change
  2. I can't get involved in the finances but... surely we're a big enough country that we can cope with a few people sending money home to their family and Duvaller - I'm sure Gordon Brown reduced the deficit until the bankers decided to f**k up ;) By the way - this money is apparently called remittances and many see them as a good thing - better than aid https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2016/jun/16/remittances-mainstay-millions-worlds-poor-improve-them-dipti-pardeshi

Maybe we need more immigrants I struggle to get good builders/plumbers etc. Often someone will come around to assess something and you never hear anything from them again (maybe the job is out of there ability - maybe too much work already ?). I haven't used the business section - so no bad comment meant on that :)

Well Sky News went live to Guy Verhofstadt this morning expecting some May goading but he just gave an update of the process (stages of the talks and the conditions needed for talks to progress) - and said he will continue to give updates as the talks progress. Edit: and yes it seems he will give a running commentary (maybe that's his little May goad) Why can't May do this with Parliament - why with her does everything need to be secret and so controlled. All the media information on the talks will come from the EU side it seems.

What on Earth How much money comes into the UK from Russia, China, USA, India, EU etc. Housing, Company takeovers, Nissan, Steel, even to support Manchester United in buying players Other countries can put in exchange controls too you know.

Theresa May (Kim Jong May as they now call her) has locked some reporters in a room http://www.devonlive.com/theresa-may-visits-devon-after/story-30306851-detail/story.html But look who she got the idea from (sorry for the source) though she can't come up with anything like the good excuse Bidens staff did " And she claimed an inexperienced staffer had put Powers in the closet instead of a 'hotel room' as was their normal practice." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1370371/Vice-President-Joe-Bidens-staff-lock-journalist-closet-stop-talking-guests.html Edit: Mrs May added: "That is about strong and stable leadership."

Maybe I'm just plying it safe (10 years down the line someone says why'd you tell me to become a coder) I wish I could be doing something I really loved - but yes probably most people work to pay the bills.

From the Mirror "The party said yesterday the 10,000 officers will cost ?2.5 billion." Abbott was tired or something - all she had to do was say the figures were published yesterday end of and we can't afford not to increase Police after the 20,000 reduction under the Tories. If you want more check the manifesto blah blah blah. Anyway May refuses to cost Brexit - and it's one of the worst policies in the world.

How much will Brexit cost again ? Abbott is stupid for answering the question - you delegate to those who can cope with numbers. Edit: Just because a person is bad with numbers does not mean the policy is wrong

It happened on the street I live though. So in my view it is my issue - as are the guys and girls screaming, arguing and falling over every night and the rest. It's not a case of being mawkish though it's just knowing what is going on on the street to protect myself and others.

Whatever the costs of Labours budget it's dwarfed by the costs of a hard Brexit IMHO.
  20. If you're caught with a knife twice it's a mandatory 6 months Is that how I should read it (unless there are exceptional circumstances) ? https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/item/bladed-article-offensive-weapon-possession-of/ "When sentencing the offences of; Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place; Possession of an article with a blade/ point in a public place; Possession of an offensive weapon on school premises; and Possession of an article with blade/ point on school premises a court must impose a sentence of at least 6 months imprisonment where this is a second or further relevant offence unless the court is of the opinion that there are particular circumstances relating to the offence or the offender which make it unjust to do so in all the circumstances. A ?relevant offence? includes those offences listed above and the following offences; Threatening with an offensive weapon in a public place; Threatening with an article with a blade/ point in a public place; Threatening with an article with a blade/ point on school premises; and Threatening with an offensive weapon on school premises."

Society is changing and I cam coming around to a universal salary at some point or other. People should really do what they enjoy doing (and that's the advice I always give young people)

Also looking directly across the street and saying "Excuse me officer" - they won't spend seconds looking for the policeman. Just small actions can make someone think twice.

SIM only is reasonable but obviously you either keep your old phone or buy from the manufacturer (?500 - ?700 for the top phones). Edit: and most of us seem to be on 2 year contracts - mine ends April 30th.
