LTN: "stop the LTN congestion" campaign
JohnL replied to Droid's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Do the Anti-LTNs want their own section or what :) -
Africa and Asia are gradually creating the supra national bodies for custom unions etc. West Africa http://www.uemoa.int/en/about-uemoa, South Africa https://www.sacu.int/, East Africa https://www.eac.int/customs-union, North Africa https://maghrebarabe.org/, South East Asia https://asean.org/ Its the direction of travel though - most are heading towards furthest local integration whilst we are moving away from that.

Of course in Scotland a horde of blue painted warriors shouting "freedom" forced the release of some migrants. I heard Pritti Patel was livid.

Aww no Vaughan Gething has been moved from the Welsh Government health post to the economics post so we won't see him in the news so much. New face of Welsh health is Eluned Morgan. Nobody reporting as much on the Welsh Labour reshuffle as much as the one done by Sir Keir.

The "underline" might be part of the poster - but it makes it look sort of LibDem and the word "Alliance" just brings up memories of Dr Death and The Boy David.

I'm a total medium adoptor of most technologies - so will get it all eventually. When the first generation doesn't really work that well it entrenches me in the above :) I realise Gas boilers are going to be phased out too - just be careful of the service charges for community/district heating - they tend to go up very fast and you have to pay up - maybe residents management companies should administer them. Here's Southwark Councils factsheet on community heating to give an idea - it just looks costly even there. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/assets/attach/3837/District-Heating-Factsheet.pdf (edit: it's a pdf file)

Implying a part of "the culture war" when there is no need for that to be portrayed. To get to net-zero by 2050 will take a lot more pain than this - I guess we'll give up by 2025.

They came out to mine - couldn't park in Rye Lane and then stated as Rye Lane is such a difficult area to park they needed two engineers (one to sit in the car). I gave up,

A potential employer mentioned my passport once as if it was inconceivable I didn't have one. At the time I'd spilled beer over the photo page which didn't have protective plastic on it - so had to quickly replace - and that required a signature of a Vicar/Doctor or Teacher - not as easy as you'd think.

A long Queens speech response by Ian Blackford wearing a Scottish White Rose saying that Scotland has had no support from England and is being treated badly. The rose of all the world is not for me. I want for my part Only the little white rose of Scotland That smells sharp and sweet?and breaks the heart. Boris sitting there looking bored. https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/ian-blackford-warns-boris-johnson-scotland-is-on-a-different-path-ahead-of-queens-speech-3231547

Some companies don't insure - they just pay if they have an accident. Not sure if that is still allowed as it seems wrong (LOL and I can't find any reference to this - but I know companies did it a while ago - maybe it's been now made illegal) Also some companies take AGES to pay their bills - just holding on.

Oh .. Jenrik needs to spend more time sorting out leasehold and cladding issues - another building on fire last week. https://www.mylondon.news/news/east-london-news/housing-secretary-robert-jenrick-visited-20554833

The 24 hour media coverage has helped Mark Drakeford and especially Vaughan Gething in Wales. Seems it helps to be on TV every day ;)
-
Boris was literally dragging Carrie by the arm to the polling station. Maybe she didn't want to vote. I'd have slapped him.
-
Why are the newspapers shouting that the French ran away. They went home for supper with the tide - what did you think they were going to do.
-
It's a hammering I'm afraid. Mark Drakeford doing OK in Wales though ... as is Alun Wyn Jones.

Traps and Poison and electronic deterrents none work as my mice are too clever. The freeholder of the block is sending in professionals one who laughed at my attempts saying the poisons online just cool the mice down and they quite like it in hot weather. They get in behind the units and I can't get to them. My fear (maybe a myth) is they cause fires by chewing - I can hear them in the roof sometimes YUCK.

Why do they not want serious local democracy ? (And I mean that if they had a proper mayor the post wouldn't be abolished)

Unsettling experience running in Dulwich Park this morning
JohnL replied to alimc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yeah I can't tell - some people don't have a very good idea of what another persons personal space is - and that's extremely annoying, others use that as an excuse to assault, others just assault because they think they can. Even the innocent one in these types needs to know they can't do that.
