  1. If they can't have LTN's in Wandsworth they need to up them in Southwark and Lambeth to meet the target IMHO.

Half expected this as it's the way we are headed - seems to be roadworks on the bit of Rye Lane that's open every day - maybe they'll make them permanent. is something down there ? I think outside my flat is Quatermass and the pit.

I laughed when journalists called him Jeremy C*** "by mistake". I'm not laughing now - I'd take him in a heartbeat. We had a Moody's credit rating downgrade on Friday and nobody noticed. Remember when this was a big thing, now it's no news at all. "The rating agency cut its grade one notch to Aa3" https://www.ft.com/content/117349e4-dc95-4509-969b-26dcdede1773
  4. Actually when you think of it as Wandsworth have revoked LTNs to comply with the bailout conditions TFL have to do more LTNs in the other boroughs. Whats in the second bailout ?
  5. Its a Redford and Wilton survey (not that I know much about them) BUT I didn't know the below "New LTNs were part of another condition of the government?s first TfL bailout, which said a minimum of ?55 million should be spent on them and other Active Travel interventions." https://www.onlondon.co.uk/new-polling-most-londoners-blame-covid-or-government-for-tfl-financial-woes-back-ltns-and-are-satisfied-with-sadiq-khan/
  6. Hmm - the closure of Rye Lane seems to have been accepted now. Some will stay some will go I guess.
  7. pretended to be a tree - obviously an actor
  8. Could be this

  11. I don't think that comes into the unconscious bias training though (not mine anyway) Any quotas would be a temporary thing I'd think whilst society changes as we can't afford to wait for the change to take place. It could be seen as necessary temporary discrimination to bring about change.
  12. The only coffee I've had outside in 6 months was a latte at Starbucks - paper cup.

That isn't what it's about - according to my training - its statements of support of different types of people. It isn't about promoting people but about valuing people and allowing them to contribute. Its basic human dignity really.

I don't think the Tories have much of a base in Southwark but you never know these days.

You mean local elections I think :) Edit: and labour have the advantage in the next ones IIRC (due to the weakness of the Liberal Democrats nationally at present) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southwark_London_Borough_Council_elections
  16. Sarah Berry and others have been canvassing in Lambeth for more LTNs https://brixtonblog.com/2020/10/call-for-many-more-lambeth-ltns/

That's what a firewall does when it filters - blocks specific traffic :) I like that they're running road traffic like network traffic. We also have some Quality of Service and a lot of Routing.
  19. Yes - its said to be part of the latest TFL bailout conditions imposed by central Government on TFL.

Not in my view - It's quieter now than it used to be 10 years ago (but that could be me).

  23. The wages being paid these management consultants is outrageous - what are they actually doing and how do they change the outcomes ?
  24. Crazy Uncle Donald still supports QAnon it seems. I still see them on facebook and twitter usually talking about saving children (which is what they talk about now) ?I don?t get that. You?re the president, not someone?s crazy uncle.? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/16/friday-briefing-crazy-uncle-trump-flails-in-tv-town-hall

It does feel isolated though - and you begin to notice the parties going on :).
