He admits he has a headache and cough. It could be speculated centrist leaders don't tell people they have Covid.

"The president has been injected with an experimental cocktail of drugs" Make of that what you will.

Teams are now international in many companies - you don't see people in your team as they're based all over the world. I have heard recently some have said a team that actually works together in the same office is a good thing and some are trying to revive that atmosphere and buzz but why would a company do that in London with higher office costs unless they want the prestige of being in London. ? That's is why London and the UK need to differentiate themselves as being something special - but at the moment that isn't happening for a few reasons.

I just got an email from Tesco CEO Jason Tarry "Over the coming weeks, you will also start to see a simple ?traffic light? system at the entrances of some of our larger stores, to help us manage the flow in and out." Maybe we should also make a traffic light system at front doors for delivery :) Mine have all stood back so far - luckily I can pick up the crates which makes it so much easier, otherwise I'd be tempted to have some boxes ready (I have some from beer deliveries)

Just saw an angry (for him) outburst from the speaker about responsibility of those in public life. He seems to be going a little Bercow recently (taking a public role and louder in the house of commons) - and i think good for him.

and yes there is an argument that as employers knew working practices were going to change over the next 5 years they used Covid-19 as an excuse to implement changes they had planned anyway.

Maybe but I see it as a post covid option (maybe the advert shouldn't imply otherwise). Our work practices are changing forever imho just like they did after the plague of Justinian or the black death - this was happening anyway but it's been accelerated.

I haven't claimed for chair/desk yet but I can if I submit an expenses form - by the way I'm just a bog standard engineer not management. > These kinds of facilities advertised by the OP will be a welcome relief for some I agree and could see me doing it one day a week or so for the company if nothing else.

Companies say they prefer to close offices than make redundancies - and at least when they come to redundancies they can say they made every other effort before they did. Rents in London are very high too - obviously places like the Czech Republic are attactive for things that remain office based.

Companies can and will help you with wifi, desks, chairs and advice but not with space unfortunately :(. After this is over I see the expansion of shared local office space - we won't be working with our colleagues but we will have space, of course company should pay and you should negotiate for it at any job interview that is work from home - when they offer you the job is when you're at your most powerful. Mind communication software has ways of faking backgrounds (choose a standard one or use a photo) and don't forget to mute when you don't speak. You don't need a bookcase behind you.

I think soap is OK if you rub it in (soap kills the virus I'm pretty sure). Washing up liquid will do too :)

The Bakerloo line extension hasn't been added to the wishlist for funding (CSR submission to government). Kicks the project into the long grass (along with all the other proposed Bakerloo line extensions over the last 100 years I guess) https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/bakerloo-line-extension-tfl-says-its-not-realistic-to-expect-government-to-fund-extension-soon/

They're still proceeding https://www.london-se1.co.uk/news/view/10414 and "Following the 18-month trial, it is expected that these measures will be made permanent and additional measures to support walking and cycling will be implemented by making use of the increased space."

These are the sort of questions they should have asked Trump and Biden last night.

We're all going to have a Zoom/MS Teams Christmas then I guess.

freeholders won't budge at the moment - so even if these ladies are small freeholders - they won't either until the big ones do.

Just saw the doors being sealed. Anyone know if it's for good or temporary.

Oh yes and Alexa's blue light comes on sometimes as if she's listening - then goes off again without anything happening.

My bank has started sending "happy payday" texts. They mean - oh you still have a job then. Alexa has started making all sorts of strange comments recently - like she's making an effort. It all started since I stopped going out.

My dentist (The Gardens) was very careful - waited in the garden, checked my temperature before coming in, everyone had masks on properly as did I. The guy in the garden after me had no mask on - didn't wait to see if they refused him, provided him one or he actually had one hidden - could be intimidating for the receptionist if he refused.

I think this is a case of someone saying what they actually thought without the usual self censorship - everybody has dark thoughts sometimes - if you didn't you would probably have some sort of issue. I saw some older lady (can't remember whom) on Sky News recently saying she expected all her family wanted her out of the way - Kay et al on Sky News laughed in a rather embarrassed way.

It'll work on my phone but not installed yet - need IOS 13.5 I notice - but then I won't be going out until thursday. I know people who will try and catch the bluetooth broadcasts just to prove they can and test it really is secure but it seems okay :)
