Can I politely suggest a Wetherspoons as a possibility if Tim Martin is interested.

a few adverts to rent it out there - https://www.movehut.co.uk/property/623715-17-19-grove-vale-east-dulwich-london/ is one.

Here's the leak on a two week London lockdown. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/emergency-lockdown-london-north-england-socialising-household-mixing-a4557601.html In Wales I notice pubs are having licensing suspended if they break the rules. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/swansea-bar-closed-immediate-effect-19006786

Sunak's economics aren't as generous as it seemed earlier in the year. He announced one thing to parliament about the employment support bill and then another thing was released to the media (the government is paying a lot less than he insinuated in parliament - only one third of a wage for a person on part time furlough - he definitely did not make that clear in his speech which of course the opposition was replying to so making the bill not challenged properly in parliament). Germany and France's scheme for the next year is much more generous to part time furloughed staff.

A lot of people realised a few years back that if you make a position and then insinuate your opponent should go halfway to your position you can then move the goalposts to a position further away and negotiate to go halfway on that - you can then repeat. I'm not sure how debaters are supposed to deal with that other than not negotiate.

"Why do you want to go there" was the response 10 years ago when I caught a cab down (peckham rye). I don't think much has changed.

The thing is everybody these days has an echo chamber - and the Spectator echo chamber say they are going to boycott the co-op and subscriptions increase - I not sure they even shopped there to start with. Meanwhile the Co-Op is quietly continuing it's expansion. The strange thing about spats between people with echo chambers is both sides seem to benefit as they play to their own base. https://bdaily.co.uk/articles/2020/09/04/co-op-announces-1000-new-jobs-with-50-new-stores-to-open-before-year-end

Chancellor didn't give all the details, just a summary - seems to me that Employee must work at lease 1/3rd of full time and up to 2/3 can be furloughed. For the furloughed portion Employer and government pay a 1/3 each Employee sacrifices 1/3 full time wages Also if you work for a large firm they must demonstrate loss of turnover. it's still cheaper to keep one person full time than two people using this scheme BUT maybe there would then be costs of redundancy and the job retention bonus of 1000 will still be paid so ....

There's a mistaken belief that facemasks are meant to protect the wearer The type of masks we all wear protect others from the wearer

Seems to be putting both sides https://www.onlondon.co.uk/low-traffic-neighbourhoods-class-politics-and-people-power/ Seems set for Farage to jump on this (the anger is just what he thrives on) - he's sniffing around twitter looking for a cause and another new political party. ?You poke the hornet?s nest of democracy, they come out and sting you in the bum. You need people to step forward and make sure democracy is looked after for the next generation.? Could have come straight from the Brexit Party literature.

I suppose you can laugh and joke through your mask. ... on second thoughts - outside the pub not sure on the regulations. Smokers ?

My bank just said it had suspended a card as it had returned mail from my address - I've been in since March. Checked the address and it's correct so I guess the letters (whatever they were as statements are electronic) didn't get here.

Social distancing /self isolation rules

Thanks DF It's still not really a pub if you can't wander around with your drink. But not sure if I can continue to stay away for the rest of the year (and beyond). I'm beginning to have vivid dreams :) -

Most frightening thing today - at least 6 months (remember he said 3 weeks back in march) Pub curfew at 10pm - if everywhere had closed at 12 pm over the summer we wouldn't have to see this - too many places staying open until 4am still (I don't know how as clubs aren't open). Masks more compulsory but not compulsory Masks in taxis and masks compulsory for pub and restaurant staff. -

Fantasy doesn't have to be scientifically accurate or we'd all have hated 'Back to the Future'.
