  4. Drivers don't realise what sounds loud at ground level seems much louder at 4th floor level - not sure why.
  5. We fed cows their own brains and didn't think it was a problem That was a bullet missed as it was in the food chain but the prions didn't cause mass disease. Oh - and because of that most countries will not accept blood from a British person my age and all plasma is imported in the UK - so most scientists assume those prions are still around..
  6. I think some of the motorbikes on the road might be food deliveries or volunteers helping. Not sure if the volunteers use cars.
  7. This is the one developed by Kings College https://www.kcl.ac.uk/news/symptom-tracker-app-hits-15-million-uk-users
  8. Once you're out of ICU or HDU and on the ward the whole thing becomes much easier and jokes are usually allowed. I remember waving frantically to my visitors from a general ward in Kings, forgetting the IV was in my arm and ripped it out with blood going everywhere. Luckily by then mishaps didn't make my condition worse. The nurses immediately drew the curtains on my bed and gave me a lecture about getting over excited :)

I buy an essential item then add my supplementary items. Don't loiter outside either (although if these guys couldn't come up with a valid reason for being outside a shop I wonder what sort of imagination they have) https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/coronavirus-lockdown-breach-charge-northamptonshire-police-a4410141.html

  11. I suspect there will be some 'private' parties over the weekend. Last night was quite lively outside in terms of random shouts and screams. It only annoys me as it reminds me I miss the pub - already googling my Covidend pub crawl :)

  13. Evening Standard reports Boris doing reasonably well. That's not brilliant then - this thing comes at you again just as you feel a little better. Standard is showing the trajectory (curve) somewhere in it's rolling updates and Spain, France, UK and Italy are almost identical shapes. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/coronavirus-uk-live-latest-updates-boris-johnson-covid19-a4410766.html
  14. I got my Boris Letter today :)
  15. Unfortunately just one unknown Councillor saying it will make headlines. https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1266342/Labour-Party-news-Boris-Johnson-health-coronavirus-latest-Labour-councillor also need to be careful what we retweet on twitter these days because people still seem to state untruths. https://www.nursingtimes.net/news/coronavirus/health-board-slams-tweet-that-falsely-claimed-nurses-had-died-07-04-2020/
  16. Here's a council that has changed it's mind yesterday https://thelincolnite.co.uk/2020/04/lincoln-council-closes-authority-run-cemeteries/
  17. The law/guidance says 7 if you're alone but a lot of people feel it should be a blanket 14
  18. Back in the day neighbours just turned up on your doorstep for all sorts of strange reasons at any time and nobody really thought much about it. Privacy in the way we know it started around the 80s.
  19. My mother who worked for years as a nurse told me they never told patients or family if they were likely to die for years (until about the 1970s) - just that they were ill. Of course they never told anybody if treatment was being withdrawn and only the doctors and nurses would know.
  20. Learning more about this virus - I really didn't know we should rest however obvious it sounds. I thought working from home was enough (if anything bosses keep us under more scrutiny when WFH) Best wishes to Boris as well.
  21. The government has clarified what it doesn't want parks closed unless there is no way of social distancing https://www.itv.com/news/london/2020-04-06/parks-must-only-close-if-distancing-impossible-to-maintain-says-minister/ On a more local note 'Labour MP Harriet Harman tweeted that opening up green spaces such as school playing fields was an ?excellent suggestion?.'
  22. All we can do is look after ourselves and let Michael Gove look after the rest. (this was meant to be tongue in cheek but it seems scary when you read it)
  23. NewWave Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I seriously fear I will go crazy if I can't leave > my house and go for a solo walk. > as usual the few will ruin it for the many We're about to have our windows and balconies sealed by our social landlord so work can continue outside - in that case I will go silly if there's no way to get fresh air. Close to it already today hearing about it :)

  25. Our housing association has decided they are going to seal us in - windows sealed for the foreseeable future so they can complete cladding work. I can't see me living like that and staying in LOL. Idiots in this world.
