The "go away" and "come back" thing seems to be reported a lot too Around Day 12 is when it can go to your lungs - so looks like if it was Covid19 you 'got away' with the first set of symptoms. I have heard of loss of all taste and smell is quite common. Fluids are good for us always and vitc - but unsure if they have a specific effect against this mind.
  2. The depression from this is if we're already ill we have to hide, if we fall ill or have an accident - that things waiting for you too :( another reason not to go out or take risks in any way.
  3. The mortality rate in places like London will depend how well the NHS copes and how flat the curve is - so mortality rate is not just dependent on the virus itself but how well we deal with it ?

  6. Sky News are pushing the 20,000 deaths thing and had someone from Imperial (not the official Imperial COVID team) to back them up and make the influenza comparison but he seemed strange - as if he was holding something back. Then they started saying an economic dip causes deaths too - I do hope they are not heading towards pushing the Trump agenda of going back to work ASAP (i.e. before Easter). I notice the business secretary was doing todays government briefing.
  7. Again Day 12 seems danger day (if you even are able to count). I'm seeing too many comments on social media along the lines of "people who die were going to die anyway"

  9. Chief Medical Officer is down now - along with Boris and Matt Hancock and Dom Cummings was seen running out of No10.

  12. I'm looking for eggs, ice, potatoes and coffee for my essentials I'm running low on next - any of these seen in Sainso's. Edit: and if any of the above aren't essentials shhh.

Still have no idea how long it lingers, if you gain immunity, if it can return, how long it takes to recover and what the symptoms of the dangerous part of the disease are and when they could come (I heard day 12 previously)
  14. Boris and Matt Hancock self isolating Maybe the whole cabinet has it

Suppose to intercede means getting within 2 meters. Not sure what the protocol is here - do you let two people fight on ? Popped very quickly into Tesco Rye Lane - 2 meter separated queue going in (some guy did try and edge up a bit), people careful not to get to close inside, temporary barrier so you can't get too close to the cashier (I think a better one will be on its way) and mostly stocked.
  16. This was the statement https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/evening-standard-zone-2-3-home-delivery-coronavirus-a4394811.html Railway stations, major supermarkets and tube stations are the only public places mentioned

Being said that there is a change in counting - but don't understand a word of this guy on newsnight. and this one says there is a cut off time change and he is the Whitehall Editor of The Times (whatever that is)
  18. Not wearing your work ID in public should be a general security measure anyway I'd think - invites social engineering

  20. I tweeted Camden Brewery to ask if they are still brewing and is they had further stock coming - they are :) They don't do toilet rolls.

It > is right to discuss and reflect, but posting on > this site about panic buying doesn't help one bit. > Please rise above it. It isn't this site that gives me rising panic (nor twitter which just moans and moans and always has although it's worth it to see Edwina Curry reaction to Stone Cold Steve Austin) it's the supermarket sites that I'd hope would do better - something seems to be failing and it doesn't matter to me what is failing just that it's failed. I keep an eye on all of them and others and they can't cope - Morrison's has opened a new site with food boxes (below) using DFD as a delivery and that is snarled up immediately on being launched. https://www.morrisons.com/food-boxes/box/Meat-Food-Box The whatsapp groups are great but the three I follow seem a bit introspective (talking a lot about getting their message out - maybe the requests for help don't come from the groups so I'm seeing just a part of it). Can't criticise them though - they're a sign that some people still care :) A few people might even feel they should have stocked up more a few weeks back unfortunately - not all people keep food cupboards and freezers fully stocked (I do as my mother did and it became habit). if you live "week to week" with food I guess the panic would be justified in some ways.
  22. Hurray (and I know some won't approve) but a few beers or a glass of wine just helps especially on a friday when you would have a drink with friends (lots still having a drink via skype/facetime) https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/mar/25/off-licences-added-to-essential-businesses-list-by-uk-government-covid-19
  23. Not sure we should be using the supermarkets distribution networks - the vulnerable should have a separate distribution network and it should have been planned for before the outbreak (easy to say I know). It seems they have failed a stress test in terms of online. Edit - Sky India Reporter "there was a bit of panic buying but now it's petered out"

Could be all reductions have been removed rather than prices put up. Anyway seems they have started to bring the store under control and this thread is useful - may try a visit next week.
  25. We need food to stay alive unfortunately.
