  1. Johnson in SE5 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48721211
  2. My first and last poem ever, on the subject of the 176 back in the day: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,216140,340577#msg-340577 Any bus that decides to drive reealllyy slowly, I suspect near the end of the drivers shift. Always happens when in a hurry.
  3. Barring ?on yer bike?, window shopping/door knocking are there any suggestions for searching for local jobs for teens?
  4. I was circled by a guy on one of these bikes in Sainsbury's car park when on my phone yesterday. Thought it was a bit sus but wasn't on my guard as it wasn't a moped. Thanks for the tip.
  5. Can?t we all just slag off the tories? They?re to blame for destroying council budgets and forcing these sorts of measures - and once again they?ve got us all arguing amongst ourselves?
  6. 3.5 hours in queue today and no parcel, also paid for next day delivery earlier in week. Totally not the poor staff's fault who were being brilliant and getting cheers whenever a parcel came out. Cheers also to the lady who offered to take an elderly lady and her heavy parcel home in her car. Good spirit from the ED massive on show today.
  7. Two plants and pots taken from top part of Landells Road in last two nights.
  8. I've got a card for a Mr. Oxlong, first name Mike. Does anyone know Mike Oxlong?
  9. This whole problem could be avoided if they and other barbers followed the golden rule: the only thing that a gentleman should have with his haircut is complete and utter silence.
  10. The smell on these buses is awful, I'm guessing that was due to no windows / flow of air? Rancid. And sod the windows on the 12 - when are we going to get replacements for the 176? I know of no other local route that runs buses that are 13 years old. We'll have bus-spotters riding them soon for their vintage value.
  11. A win! Through to playoff final against East Thurrock - Carew special free kick on 93rd min.
  12. Curmudgeon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > They should use it to correct that ridiculously > dangerous townley road / east dulwich grove > junction they created This with huge bells on!
  13. Sue, me and others I know have had the same thing, it goes for a bit then comes back hard. Went on and of for a couple of weeks then it takes another week at least to get back to strength. Weird one, no aching teeth though.
  14. The p4 is the better bus to Brixton station as it drops you outside, so if you stand nearly opposite N Dulwich station you can wait for either the P4 or 37 and will get one of them within 5 mins
  15. Tendering and recontracting is all about driving down costs, usually at the expense of quality. Don't get your hopes up.
  16. Is actually gang(ish) activity - Bike Life
  17. Good crowd at Tonbridge today, all in good voice, came home feeling robbed though after their late and undeserved equaliser.
  18. Drier, did it a couple of years ago and it lasted til May *shudders* Although that does show how good I felt by the end of Jan. Going to reduce this year rather than dry out completely. Seems more sensible. Good luck though.
  19. I was personally disappointed not to see comments on the passing of Jimmy Hill include his contribution to the lexicon of the 1970's and 80's English playground. Why was he generally associated with a dubious statement - was he prone to making them or was it just that a chin stroke accompanies pondering the truth?
  20. What we don't have, and I agree with Artful for this reason, is the long-term effect of vaping. Smoking as a habit has a psychological component as well as pharmacological. Does it introduce a behaviour, particularly in the young, that can morph into cigarette smoking later in life?
  21. Yes, same Mr Roberts name, having said Mr Cameron first, it sounded so amateur, wouldn't say who parcel was for or what it was, said it was a lost one, never asked for my name or any personal details. Number with-held. Mindless prank?
  22. Just had a weird call from what sounded like kids saying I needed to go to the coop and collect a lost parcel - went down there and no such person or facility. Didn't ask for info just seemed to want me out of the house.
  23. It's mad out there at the moment, I envy no-one in the public sector who has to balance the books at the moment, and then justify the cuts to the public.
  24. or near enough, sort of knew this would be round here when I saw it on the BBC homepage http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34718659 Local govt mimicing national govt standard procedure: 1. fail to fund/maintain old institution 2. Claim it's not fit for purpose/rescuable 3. Sell to private developer 4. Profit.
