  1. Another recommendation- Saied worked really hard and in one day transformed our small patio garden . Jet washed our sand stone patio back to it's original colour . Prunned bushes and planted some beautiful flowers which he sourced and took the time to suggest to us as well. The patio is looking fantastic and we will be using Saied again to do the front garden . He was very thorough and helpful Thanks Saied .
  2. Estate agents by day, reverting to a curry house by night.
  3. We live on Landells road . Got offered charter last year in June . Worth staying on waiting list .
  4. Interesting photo Pamela, is that shot towards Heber Road? If so, what is the building on the right? It doesn't exist now.
  5. Thanks to the OP for raising this. We're on the same stretch and I've always felt safe as, well, houses really. But we're getting our windows fixed as a result of this post, without it we might have been more vulnerable so out of your pain comes some good in making us safer. Cheers.
  6. My lad commented just yesterday about how much stuff we recycle now instead of throwing away. I think their refuse and recycling work is great and we should applaud them.
  7. Anyone see the irony with this and the PCN thread? Wander into a bus lane and get the full force of the law, no get outs. Get your money nicked from a cash machine, law can do nothing.
  8. I think I've calculated about ?3000-3500 for annual car costs, which includes an ?8k car loan, but does not include depreciation. That would add an extra thousand at least. Car hire for holidays reasons would be about ?1500 I estimate; and local and weekend zipcar trips probably the same again. So, not much difference, but no major outlay. Zipcar also seem to have some consistently bad net reviews out there, but they've certainly corndered the market in ED for car club cars.
  9. Our car is just about to expire and I'm thinking of zipcar as I do about 3k miles max a year Do people find you have to book in advance for cars? We're not amazingly organised and make last minute decisions often about days out. Any good or bad experiences out there?
  10. The value added score is the worst in Southwark.
  11. Oh dear, Kingsdale is the worst secondary school in Southwark..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/special/education/school_tables/secondary/12/html/210.stm
  12. More evidence, if needed blimey, and it was set in 2012
  13. You are kidding; the 185 is sheer luxury compared to the skanky 176s. And they could cruise past trafalgar square, pleasing the tourists.
  14. Not asking you to agree or disagree on this but 38 degrees have a petition going for signatures to go to the new Clinical Commissioning Group in Southwark that will be deciding who provides treatment in the area. It's just an attempt to counter-lobby for quality services rather than those that spend more on marketing than clinical governance. See linky for details if interested. http://action.38degrees.org.uk/ccg_found_o?postcode=SE2+29PH&email=harryfreeze%40yahoo.com&c=f6770bb7c9a4271a#petition
  15. I've long wanted to see a map that pinpointed bomb sites, to see if you could trace the path of bombs falling from a single plane/attack. Our victorian terrace is pebble-dashed, as are others around, and sits opposite two 50's buildings, that clearly must have replaced bombed houses, and in the streets around there are other little pockets of 50's buildings interrupting the terraced rows.

  21. Can we have a childcatcher too?
  22. A second for Addison Lee - I can't believe anyone would get into one of those cars - followed closely by Clarkes Coaches
  23. Lampard out of Euros - I reckon if expectations for the squad get any lower we'll be the bookies favourites.
  24. Interestingly, I too have been called 'lazy' by the driver of a number 40. I found it amusing, but it's a bit odd.
  25. 76 Landells Road is missing too - there's a gap opposite me for three terrace houses with two 50's houses there. I've always wanted to plot the bomb damage to track the path of bombs from single planes. Where did you get your 'string' from computedshorty?
