  2. Do you want to borrow my blw book?
  3. an heir and a spare plus playmate!? or lots of little workers for when we were all hunter/gatherers? i wish we had grandparents nearby. can you imagine, oh i think i will go shopping this saturday, mum can you babysit, oh ok darling, why don't i keep them overnight and you can sleep in, no no i don't mind... *descends into daydream......***
  4. I am one of 3 and always thought I would have 3. But I'm just getting the hang of 1 and so I sort of can't imagine going through it all again! Let alone twice more. I will def try for one more and then we shall see! I'd like my son to have a sibling though, i am grateful for both of mine as no matter what happens there is someone out there who is obliged to love me and to get all my jokes and understand my point of view as they have the exact same background etc. Having said that I know lots of only children who don't feel they missed out. So I don't think 1, 2 or more is 'better' it just is what it is.
  5. The ones from Robert dyas do. You have to be a bit gentle when you are reusing them though.
  6. Robert dyas have some too...
  7. id be put out too, but... within their rights i think. id think it was more relevant if you were actually feeding them lunch though. snacks seem a bit harmless.
  8. Yes I would wear a badge. Perhaps they could say 'I love biscuits two' I do like a good pun!
  9. I remember this thread too although I read it pre-baby. Will use it as a prompt to call the lady I met at a group and we had coffee and swapped numbers but haven't caught up since! I was thinking a couple days ago about how we don't see ourselves how others do, very interesting! Did you end up giving out all of those badges sw?
  10. Plus borough has really nice coffe at monmouth!
  11. we are at 6 1/2 months and the routine has been fairly similar for a couple of months i think. 7pm bed 10pm (ish) bottle usually wakes around 4am, i feed back to sleep, or if its nearer 5, i bring him into bed then again around 6am, i bring him into bed with us. then feed on and off until about 7 when his dad gets up with him. i have good intentions of getting up at 7am too to get him into a proper routine but the 45mins extra sleep is sooooo nice. we have just started on a bedtime milk and he slept through until after 6am! i was delighted! but up at 5am this morning so was sadly short-lived.
  12. i absolutely love our jumperoo, though i agree its a monstrosity. you don't have to get the rainforest one, there is another type which might be less ugly... though probably not. we've been using it from around 4.5 months i think. possibly longer. my only real gripe is that you can't easily move it. so wherever you put it, its likely to stay there!
  13. how old is your baby? mine is 6 months and i am having similar trouble. i am just giving him water from a bottle as he just blows bubbles on everything else. he does it with the bottle too but also drinks a little bit. I'm offering him different cups every so often as well as I'm hoping that he will catch on to water being for drinking! we are alternating the doidy cup with a soft spouted sipper cup and have bought a firm spouted sipper cup to start trying too. he does seem really interested in the doidy cup whereas the sippy cups he tries to bang them on the floor etc like toys. i will be watching this thread with interest...
  14. we use junior joy fleece liners. you can def use a fleece blanket/fabric cut up instead i would have thought. if the poo is runny it washes out in the machine. we are at a stage where the poo is a bit more solid but not enough to roll into the loo... and i scraped it once before deciding i was never doing that again! so i put a paper liner over the fleece one, sort of wrapped around it if that makes sense. haven't had any scrunching but baby is only just crawling. a bit more work but not much and better than poo scraping which i don't want to do!!!!
  15. We went to Phuket when I was 6 1/2 months pregnant last september. I chose it partly because of the excellent medical care there, just in case. You need to be used to flying though! It's about 10 hours!
  16. I have a high tolerance for swearing but am getting more conscious of it now that I have a baby, wondering when I need to start really keeping an eye on myself. I think you should speak to her frankly about it. Edited to say... If I were in her position, I'd rather know why someone was suddenly declining invites if it was due to swearing etc, rather than just be confused or think o smelt bad or something! But I'm from NZ and prefer a direct approach. And in NZ the c word is still taboo (or it was when I left) but pretty much everything else is fair game,
  17. Also there are tutorials on YouTube to bf in different styles of slings
  18. I did mine at shot by the sheriff I thought was only ?10. I think they charge more for tricky countries eg I have heard NZ pics are more difficult to get right for babies.
  19. Wondering what (non bugaboo brand) accessories people have got which have worked really well? Im after a sunshade? Does the shade a babe work, or something else? Pram arch? Are there any that work with the bee? The 'my buggy buddy' large clip and the happy mummy hook and stroll hooks have been good. But I suspect they would work on all prams!
  20. I often had leaks around the legs when my baby was younger as he had quite skinny legs. Not so much now he is a bit chunkier though. Re washing, I do a prewash with no detergent, then a wash with sanitiser and 1/4 the normal amount of detergent. I don't use any boosters but we are only at the 6 month point so I'm sure will need to start at some point! I def think that my reuseables need changing more often than disposables. But you should be able to go for 3 hours or so without a leak. It might be worth emailing someone like the nappy lady for her thoughts? She is also on Facebook.
  21. It might be that they aren't the right shape for your baby, although I sort of doubt it as BG nappies tend to fit everyone don't they? Do they leak straight away or just not last very long?
  22. Alternatively could someone loan you the pool that's the right size for your liner?
  23. Saffron, when camping we wash our hair in a bucket, either leaning forward over or lying back on elbows hairdresser style if that makes sense. Not tried it with kids to be fair.
