  1. thanks, we looked at that one too. looking at some john lewis ones too. thanks for all the advice.
  2. we need to get our youngest a bed and are thinking of bunk beds. the choice is bewildering. can you recommend me your not-too-expensive, sturdy bunk beds? edited to add that i meed one thats fairly deep on top just for safety reasons.
  3. i am sure you could get a carer for a day. my friend works as a carer for the elderly so i would just call some of those agencies and enquire.
  4. how do you know if you need pe kit? we are going to Heber. I have bought the uniform and book bag but was planning to just use his current backpack and had no idea i might need to consider pe kit. will take another look at the website...
  5. we are sticking with our current nursery who are doing after school pick up. whew!
  6. my nephew wear shorts year round but thats because they get too hot for trousers, so its a good shout. i have a pile of trousers ready for turning into shorts. i patched a load but they just rip around the edge of the patches. i tried just sending him in, in ripped trousers but he fell over and grazed his knees through the rips. sigh. the kids in my family just seem to have bony knees. we don't get the problem so badly with joggers but apparently joggers are not acceptable as uniform.
  7. me too someone told me that sainsburys have reinforced knees in some of their school trousers so I'm planning to go there on the weekend and have a look.
  8. never mind!
  9. have you searched the forum? this pops up really regularly. my 2 go to my favourite nursery and i recommend them.
  10. is this not a risk with all drawers, or is it malm in particular?
  11. ah thanks for the shout - was thinking we need to sort uniform!
  12. Hi, i recommend My Favourite Nursery on Upland Road. Youngest started there at 7 months. Very little staff turnover so my kids have bonded well with the carers.
  13. Buggy pitstop do it, you can also buy the kit from bugaboo and do it yourself - slightly hazy memory that my husband fixed ours with a part ordered online. if you def want to sell it you can sell with a known fault but you will lose more money than the repair will cost if that makes sense.
  14. ah microwave bags! didn't think of that!
  15. thats great. we still have 'lellow' plus a lot of other random sounds eg 'toggler' instead of 'toddler' but i guess they will all fall into place.
  16. ah damn caps lock. mine got deleted too.
  17. thanks hadn't thought of tinned veg!
  18. ah thats a good idea problem is I'm not really much of a cook, I'm good at baking but savoury flavours are not my forte. i tried that ella/vegan book but didn't get on with her recipes. have the new nigella book and am thinking of getting an ottolenghi book though have heard they are a bit tricky. so when its time to up the veg and salad intake without getting in the way of the main family dinners it gets boring quite quickly!
  19. also if you have a reluctant walker they are a lifesaver, so parents love them too (i do anyway). we are very careful about safety, stopping for roads and driveways and people etc. but then i am constantly talking to him reminding him of the rules so then become guilty of 'loud parenting' so you can't win really! I've been rammed in the ankle by a scooter (one of mine), hurt so much we had to go home. wear trainers all the time now.
  20. thanks everyone, I'm really after ides for things that either are good raw, or can be lightly steamed. i don't want to get in the way of the cooking of the actual meal. i think i am stuck with what i already have, or making in advance!
  21. hello what are your go-to veg for every day, getting more veg in your diet, eating? although this is the family room, it isn't for my kids, its for me - i don't do the cooking in our house and i want to continue eating what we do at lunch and dinner, but half the portion, replacing the rest with salad and veg. (mission is to up the nutrition value, not about weight loss) we have peas and sweetcorn and broccoli, and usually peppers and carrots for raw veg. and i buy bagged salad if i have a plan or how i will eat it before it turns. but what else to you keep to hand thats easy and quick to add without getting in the way of the family chef? thanks for any advice! PS did i mention it has to be EASY!!!!!! lol.
  22. we use neighbourhood vets for our 2 cats and we like them.
