  1. Great location. Lovely interior but this is the truth. Crap service and food was basically tolerated because it is the only option. Sometime when you're in Dulwich Park you'll do a Mr Whippy knowing full well it's shit.
  2. So yes....similar food to the Plough.
  3. It's a Mitchells and Butlers Castle brand restaurant that will be running alongsidr the Inn Mick.
  4. ^^^ Best example on this thread to date ^^^

The curse of being business side...you know too much Seabag *taps nose*
  6. http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/jun/05/gran-designs-old-has-become-the-new-in Edited to add that I like Antics pubs more than most...and the EDT still managing to mix it's clientele nicely.
  7. Perhaps I'm a tad jaded from living here for 15 years...but I'm quite bored of most of the TV set style pubs round here now and even get on a bus/uber to drink in Penge or FH. The Castle only really for sports but nice and low key for that and always friendly...
  8. Predictable start. Another 3/4 pages of wind up /gentrification/ pubco behaviour and business model will follow below shortly...or save yourselves minutes of valuable life value by checking the forum archives.
  9. Positive shit too. For what it's worth I thought the brioche bun was a decent upgrade to the burger.
  10. The Negroni. An Italian classic that has been around for almost a century unadulterated because it works. I'm all up for evolution when it's an improvement but "barrel aged" just isn't. And pre-bottled Negroni is just lazy. Half the fun is making the sucker. Anyone else got something (no Lou not this thread please) they love that hipsters have messed with to its detriment please post it here. /message ends/
  11. You're right... we also take a regular 3 tight change journey to Weybridge from ND...lots of error potential and it rarely goes to plan. I probably need to recalibrate.
  12. I get on at North Dulwich (hence 0653)...and it has been cancelled at least 4 times this year...
  13. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's half term - people get sick at half term. And often on Mondays. The 06:53 train on a Monday is cancelled more regularly than I'd like and "overrunning weekend engineering works" isn't a good excuse when there haven't been any.
  14. Update: trains look scheduled to run between 0817 and 9am peak time but likely to be crowded due to above. Problem is apparently ongoing driver sickness issues. 0916 also down as cancelled
  15. At least 4 trains into LB have been cancelled this morning inc the 0707, 0727 and 0807 not sure why...others heading south also.
  16. Banham have quoted me ?1200 for an alarm plus 4 sensors (keyholder contact) and a Police linked panic button. Plus about ?28 per month for the contract to support those. Anyone know what I should be able to get to after negotiating this commodity, high margin item?
  17. Lloyds I think? I have five accounts with them including two business ones and think it was a rate for banking customers only.
  18. There will be a time in the next few years when a 5 year fix for those with stability and not looking to move is bargain of the century. When they rise they won't be coming back down again in a hurry. I like fixed rates without fees in the current environment...and got a 2 year at 1.39% recently. The OP's deal is a good one - why risk a tracker if you can fix at 1.44...one of the cheapest rates in history?
  19. It's quite fun to arrive early on platform one and watch people who usually cut it fine but haven't realised sprint down platform two to make the train. cheap thrills.
  20. Odds now strongly tipped to Remain at as much as 1/6 on. It's possible there could be a big late swing as all the big, emotion driven campaigning starts in earnest 1-2 weeks before but I'd still back these odds. I did wonder what would happen(god forbid)a major terror attack in London beforehand. A major incident like that could seriously change the outcome.
  21. For you Lou... http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/man-realises-he-is-gentrification-20151203104414
  22. http://www.timeout.com/london/bars-pubs/milk-honey
  23. Milk and Honey still good...but you have to book in advance if not a member. It's no hassle to do so though and not at all sniffy.
  24. It's too late. He already has (retired).
