  1. Good point Alan. Others on my list: "ban cyclists from public roads- a danger to cars and pedestrians!" "Let cars park wherever they like" Louisa.
  2. Not about that numbers. It's about having adult only spaces and none of this 'children's zone' crap that half of our locals now adhere to so they can be child friendly and thus boring for the rest of us. Take the kids to a daycare place rather than 'owning' a boozer for the day. Louisa.
  3. I think I found Oliver Reed both a fine actor but also someone who through he medium of alcohol found interesting and fun ways of expressing himself. Some great interviews of him online where he acted the part of the drunken guest and was in fact playing up to the camera whilst making valid and interesting points. Very few people could ever get the better of him as they didn't know when the drunken clown started and the intelligent orator stopped. Louisa.
  4. If you could share a few bottles, jars or whatever takes your fancy of the devil's brew with someone famous either alive or deceased who would it be and why? No rules, pick as many people as you like, as long as you give reasons for choosing them. I'm kicking off with Oliver Reed. Louisa.
  5. OK 'parents' with kids. But I must say, the quintessential posh mother and brats invading public spaces gets my back up more than any other. Posh dads just need a shave and the removal of any jack wills inspired items on their person (most of the time). Louisa.
  6. Yeah but they were part of wishy washy cuddly little threads beating about the bush. These two would be more robust and to the point. That kids in pubs thread in general issues needs a good kick up the backside. We need to be talking about employing bouncers to remove mothers and brats for a start. No messing. Louisa.
  7. NO NO NO. Louisa.
  8. How about "Rye Lane should be cordoned off and fumigated" or the just as appealing little nugget of "Posh mothers and offspring should be banned from local boozers". Louisa.
  9. It's the jet stream that broke it (with the help of El Ni?o). Even more grim reading if you look at long range autumn/winter forecasts. Cold and snowy winter ahead. Louisa.
  10. OK - update. It's not them. I've just spoken to head office. Disappointed, but it's going to become something which is better than an empty unit. Have to wait for further info to come onto the site. Louisa.
  11. I was browsing the planning applications for Rye Lane, Peckham earlier and came across this: planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9561999 Two empty units next to one another with a proposed change of use from A1 to A3. Now there are no further details published on the planning site yet, so caution is advised. But when I googled the applicants name I could only come across this: https://poncho8.com A Mexican/burrito specialist which has a few restaurants across central London. Surely they aren't planning a move to Peckham? I do hope so (dreaming I know), but the one thing I miss in ED is Somewhere to get an authentic Mexican burrito/wrap. Does anyone else have any further info? Louisa.
  12. I just think it's sour grapes from the urban intelligentsia. New Labour had its chance, it is now repeating the same mantra as in 1997 (which is no longer relevant post 2008). Corbyn offers (to me anyway) a centre left alternative. The rest of them offer Tory light. End of. Louisa.
  13. And numbers how and in what way do I go about acting persecuted? I'm probably one of the least persecuted people, if I was persecuted I would be a shy retiring wall flower and that I most certainly am not. I know a lot of what people say on here is tongue in cheek banter, I do get that. Louisa.

Less of a broken > record with the same old shtick. > Regular readers will know what I mean. Just to clarify. Foxy and I are not a "posting duet" - we have never met one another. Just because we agree on certain topics doesn't mean we are in a clique of any kind, and I'm sure foxy will agree with me on this point. I honestly do not mind people not liking me on here or finding my comments boring. But I take offence to anyone suggesting I've made the forum boring, as if I've gone out of my way to do it, that's hurtful. I've never intended to go out of my way to do that. Now how about we all get along again and put a line under all of this? I'll try and wear a clowns hat and blow a whistle to encourage friendly banter. Friends everyone? Louisa.

Taken from a thread a few nights ago bemoaning the demise of the lounge. Foxy goaded without reason (the post was in response to me for goodness sakes). Louisa.
  17. What about when someone is that openly hostile to me and I'm expected to be goaded and not reply? Banged to rights me thinks. I found it funny AqM! Louisa.
  18. I don't think the Tories are scared of him at all. I think they're praying for him to win! They see him as a blessing, however IMO they are misguided. I know lots of old school Labour voters who were turned off from voting for them during the Blair/Brown years and are now likely to return to the fold with Corbyn as leader. If he wins the party will get my vote again. About time we had a principled party leader. Louisa.

  20. Another Highly accurate piece. The Dulwich Estate has a lot to answer for with regards to pubs. I was under the impression 'the dog' was going to remain a good honest pub with a refurb and a sort of hotel add-on at the back. Seems I was fooled. The way I read things, the priority will be for a hotel and restaurant and some sort of bland bar add-on. Even the seating out the front is going to be sacrificed. Disappointed. As for The Grove, well, as time ticks by and nothing changes I fear it's going to be another pub sacrifice to the property developers. On that sad note, I'm having my first drink of the day. Cheers. Louisa.
  21. Looks like all the 'experts' who propped up the bar here in the lounge have fallen off their stalls foxy. One too many pints and the bollocksometer went off the scale. Nevermind. Anyway who fancies an out of date bag of pork scratchings? Seeing as all the staff have buggered off. "TAXXXXXIIIIII" Louisa.
  22. Ok that made me laugh 😂 Louisa.
  23. Not even been chilleder can't stand warm ros? and one where was I. Seabag, serious now, this is me being honest. Hand on heart. I can see where you've come from with this one but it's only boring people who get bored. Look at me, I've got just this bottle of blush and the promise of a kiss to keep me going. I'm surviving in this world, and that's what matters most? Don't panic about other people and their lack of contribution to the forum. Life goes on! Louisa.
  24. Easy to blame others when your a boring old fart yourself eh? Ah well. We soldier on. Your PM's must be really exciting. I'm guessing you spend the time bemoaning the good old days when you and the rest of the clique could rule the roost by banging on about things on you and them could understand. When the lounge was a no go area for anyone outside of that petty narrow hard line forumites with nothing better to do during the day. Good times! Anyway, I'm going to the fridge for something far more interesting. Louisa.
  25. No I think you'll find members of the so called intelligent clique have managed to bore the rest of the manor off of the forum. Anyway, rather than sit around moaning and complaining about it, how about creating a hugely exciting thread yourself Seabag?...... No didn't think so. Louisa.
