  1. Hi alex_b, I've asked if this can be fixed urgently. On the 24 hour number. Can you please email me the link to the web page giving a 24 hour number that is office hours only please?
  2. All you need to do is leave it out on the food/garden waste collection day. gillfitzo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Does anyone know of any places to dispose of/ > recycle a Christmas tree in the Peckham/Ed area? > I had a look on the Southwark Council website but > as we don?t have a food/garden waste bin > collection the only option seems to be the > recycling center on the Old Kent Road. > > I believe Peckham Rye Park used to take them but I > can?t find any info online.. > > Thank you!
  3. I've just been told the following: " Southwark Council - Member enquiry - 871893 Subject: Women's Changing Rooms - Dulwich Leisure Centre ________________________________________ Dear Councillor Barber Thank you for your enquiry regarding the showers in the women?s changing room at Dulwich Leisure Centre. Please accept our apologies for the length of time taken to rectify the issues in the original complaint. We have contacted the centre manager from Everyone Active regarding the original complaint from the customer. The Manager has confirmed the following improvements as follows: ? In regards to the shower temperature, Everyone Active have tested the showers in female changing area and have not yet identified a drop in temperature however they will continue to monitor this ? The lock on the shower door has now been installed and a hook has been ordered and should be in place in the next two weeks ? Everyone Active are aware of short run times on one of the showers over the last couple of months and have adjusted this from around 5 seconds to 9 seconds however are planning further maintenance works in the next two weeks to increased the flow time by replacing some of the units to resolve this issue ? The doors on the showers including the hinges have been checked and Everyone Active will they will continue to monitor this We now have access to Everyone Active?s maintenance database so we will monitor all maintenance items including the above which have been recently added. The centre have recently reviewed the cleaning schedule and have put in place a new service contract to employ dedicated overnight cleaners to improve overall cleanliness. They have also changed the scent in the automatic scent dispenser in the changing rooms. They are confident this will address the recent comments regarding cleanliness and smells. We will check on the progress of the items raised (hooks, shower temperature and run times) with Everyone Active in the next couple of weeks to check that they are in place. "
  4. Hi KK, Those pictures show extreme dumping. I had reported twice over the holiday periods the Curry Cabin Eurobin being left on the pavement. But these what must be 50 black bins bags of rubbish are a different order of magnitude. I have asked council officers to sort this out and take enforcement action against whoever dumped these bags there.
  5. Hi Jeanne, Southwark Council have decided to move online and not accept problems and issues by telephone. The online form - https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/showform.asp During Christmas and New Year collection dates have changed. After Christmas they're two days later than normal and after New Year a day later than normal and return tot normal from next Monday. If your compliant is about a collection issue such as rubbish being strewn around the area then please email me with the details at [email protected]
  6. The resurfacing is programmed for February.
  7. Hi Pugwash, If you can put me in touch with some current social workers, OT's working in Southwark experiencing this problem I will work to et this resolved for them - I know not strictly in East Dulwich ward it must have some knock on impact of vulnerable people I our patch. Hi Sally, The next step is the formal Traffic Management Order which is effectively a formal public consultation. Real opportunity for you to make the case for longer hour of operations and equally those against. I'll endeavour to make people aware when this stage starts.
  8. I've made the school aware and they've now confirmed contractors have been made aware by the school and on their way. Many thanks Huggers for staring thread that alerted me.
  9. It sounds like a crime disaster area waiting to happen. Our minimal local Police effort will be sucked into this one proposed new establishment if built. The current pub is already disturbing local residents - compounding it with 47 people living in dormitories isn't going to make that any better and quite likely significantly worse.
  10. Hi spider69, A few. It would be tricky to pick out one road to have different operational times than all the others. In Herne Hill two hours of operation has resolved the commuter parking. If the proposed two hours is insufficient then it can always be extended when it is reviewed usually at 12 months. My beef is no consideration of streets south of the railway line has been made and how it will move the problem. But I also get where does this end. In East Dulwich ward south of the railway track and south of southern side of Grove Vale - the new Charter East Dulwich school and new super clinic replacing Dulwich Hospital will see extra parking stress while these building are constructed and after they're built. This new CPz will compound the problem. Also JAGS and Alleyns currently have building works causing paring stress apparently around there where not previously felt.
  11. Hi sb2010, I will chase this up for you and all the other female users. Use local councillors to escalate local service issues caused by the council or its contractors. PArty what we're here for.
  12. Assuming council officers don't agree with my understanding of the council constitution then the next step will be the statutory consultation where spider69 you can make your views on times of operation known. Abe_froeman you can highlight your general opposition.
  13. Sure Purple - please email me on [email protected] with your number and a brief outline of the problem and I'll try calling you this evening around 6pm if that works or at another time you specify.
  14. Hi spider69, If 11am-1pm Mon-Fri works by stopping commuter parking then why would you want longer parking restrictions? If it doesn't work then that would be picked up in feedback early on and the hours could be mannered. In Herne Hill the CPZ's work noon-2pm and residents I've spoken to there seem happy with this.
  15. I've just had Virgin Media contractors turn up (again) to dig up the road. I checked the Street Works website to ensure they had a permit and unsurprisingly for Virgin Media they didn't. They also hadn't organised proper traffic lights and Traffic Management. When I re challenged these contractors showing them the website map and no permit they packed up and left. Talk about cowboy contractors but also Virgin Media locally for employing them. Councils reaction is I should have let them dig up the road and then reported them! They can only issue a fine when the road is dug up not when someone closes it preparing to dig the road up.
  16. Hi macutd, Yes, I think we'll experience extra parking pressure in East Dulwich ward. I've been told by council officers that the Dulwich Community Council will not be consulted on this despite it occurring on our immediate border. I'll try quoting the constitution...
  17. Southwark Council have just approved a new Controlled Parking Zone operating Mon-Fri 11am-1pm centred on Dog Kennel Hill - http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/mgIssueHistoryHome.aspx?IId=50015012&Opt=0 It will clearly add more parking pressure to residents south of the East Dulwich railway line. East Dulwich ward councillors and the Dulwich Community Council were not consulted. Councillors in Peckham and Nunhead were! I have asked why the Dulwich Community Council were not consulted and that the decision be deferred until we meet in January.
  18. Dear Scorates31 and rendelharris, Chuffed to see you agree to disagree with each other. And Happy Christmas to you both. Best wishes, James.
  19. Plans are being developed for a second entrance. I met with GLA Assembly Member Caroline Pidgeon and the train operator several months ago on site about a second entrance on the northern side. Plans were shown. One successful outcome of that was the second ticket machine.

I hope you can help. I've been told the following regarding this event with up to 8,000 attendees: "Dear Cllr Barber, Thank you for your email. Best wishes, "
  21. Hi jocher, Southwark Events Team should be leading on this. It wouldn't go through the planning department as such. I've emailed them asking for details. Hi Socrates31, IT is working for me - http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9575882 It doesn't sound a good scheme creating 47 bed hostel Home multiple Occupation. I could understand if they were creating a boutique hotel as East Dulwich doesn't have any hotels.
  22. Hi Socrates31, I will take a detailed look tonight at this planning application and whether the system is working correctly.
  23. Hi ITATM, I can not envisage any political circumstances where local politicians would agree to sell Townley Road to a private school. I think the school needs to manage the school coach service supplier much better and visiting coaches. The alternative is either draconian parking enforcement, width restrictions to effectively ban the coaches in any practical sense from Townley Road, or allow the school to build on its grounds coaches parking/turning - which I doubt either the Dulwich Estate or Southwark Council would allow as it is Metropolitan Open Land. By far the easiest answer is managing the supplier and visitor coaches. Regards James. intexasatthe moment Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I agree ,well done Ruby . > > But honestly they couldn't care less could they ? > > I suppose it won't be long before Townley Rd will > simply be closed off at Dovercourt and absorbed > into the school grounds .
  24. If you send me emails about the problematic service I will seek a formal review. When I did this for the Dulwich Medical Centre the formal improvement plan they agree appears to have made a real positive difference.
  25. Hi Huggers, The school also came back to me very quickly. They do not currently this FY have the budget to add a timer or sensor to ensure that even allowing for the odd human error they would go off. But this is something they would be willing to consider when the funds are available.
