  1. Please can you confirm you've reported this?
  2. Hi drewd, East Dulwich ward have 9,000 voters when I last checked. The new Goose Green ward will have circa 11,500. it isn't that East Dulwich ward is small but that other wards have grown population.
  3. Hi Penguin68, I recall you asked about Motorcycle parking. I've been able to organise this with council officers: " Thank you for your enquiry dated 17/12/17, in which you requested information regarding the following: Motorcycle Parking at North Cross Road I can now provide you with a full response to your enquiry; The Motorcycle Parking spot on North Cross Road will be considered in the next batch of Minor Traffic Schemes. A minor traffic scheme (MTS) is a small project to change an existing parking restriction or to introduce a new one. We carry out most amendments in locations where there's dangerous or obstructive parking. An MTS can take 8 months to complete, as there's a thorough investigation and approval process. The MTSs are investigated and delivered on a rolling basis as follows: ? Assessment/investigation - 2 months o Correspondence, site visit, consultation, technical drawings ? Decision making - 1 month o Report drafting/approval ? Statutory consultation - 2 months o TMO request, correspondence ? Implementation - 1 month o Road markings and signage, snagging "
  4. Hi mikeb, The same estimation methodology is used. If anything it is likely and under recording. Local community groups across the country where they've undertaken counts of people coming and going they've recorded far higher numbers. Denmark Hill barriers are not operated all the time.
  5. Hi Tom, The planning advice I've received is that as long as the front bike shed is temporary and easily removed then no planning permission is required. Temporary isn't that they will be temporary rather that they're not built with bricks and mortar or a wooden shed that is weary hard to remove with destroying. Does that answer your question? 6. Hi dc, Denmark Hill station use has seen a much more dramatic increase over the last 20 years. At lunch time I took a look at the stats -http://orr.gov.uk/statistics/published-stats/station-usage-estimates and total passengers coming and going has risen since 1997/98 from 956.023 to 2016/17 7.187,152 or a 752% increase in 20 years. Please see attached.
  7. I've asked the council; project officer whether these restrictions to enable UK Per Networks electric supplies to the new school and health centre will be shared with Thames Water and SGN the gas network provider - we only want one set of closures. OR will they each need their own subsequent set of closures.
  8. Hi philsophie, It is indeed. I'll alert council officers. Thanks for pointing this out.
  9. Hi rendelharris, I think forcing people who use the most popular walkway to have to do a 90 degree turn and use a few steps causes a problem on that bridge. Previous people joined and a good proportion went both way from the old entrance/exit. Southwark Planning blocking widening of that bridge and keeping the original entrance but more doorways has costs the tax payer millions and created this terrible dogs dinner situation. If a gate is opened on Windsor Walk that would be the cheapest build cost. But to operate it will need more staff - gates are only allowed to operate when staff present. Which means more costs for passengers get put onto their fares. With the ticket office permanently closed their would be sufficient space to at least double the gates on the current gate line - and this would be probably the cheapest and quickest option to implement.
  10. If you can take a picture. IT would be Southwark Parking Enforcement on a Sotuhwark ROad such as that part of Lordship Lane. tfwsoll Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The coach situation is now beyond a joke. 11. It isn't clear what homes without brown bin collections - for example flats above shops - are meant to do. I have asked the director of the service and will chase for an answer.
  12. I pointed this out to the Electoral Commission but they weren't interested. We even suggested that Dulwich Hills would be better than Dulwich Hill if they were totally wedded to this. I suggested College ward name be changed as it seemed bizarre in this age to name a political ward after a private school that the majority of residents had no association with. The good this is the Goose Green ward and the Dulwich Hill ward are clos to 100% of the East Dulwich area. 13. GLA Assembly Member has just shared this statement with me received by her from GTR: " GTR and Network Rail have noted the significant increase in passenger footfall at Denmark Hill and the pressures that this then causes on the station infrastructure particularly around peak travelling times. Network Rail have conducted an assessment on the station capacity including detailed pedestrian modelling with a number of interventions both physical and operational. A possible second entrance was considered as part of the assessment, however it is noted that this solution requires significant capital investment in order to deliver. The station is considered a priority for investment to improve station capacity as and when funds become available to achieve this (typically this is governed through the 5 yearly railway funding periods). The next railway period (CP6) will commence from April 2019. In order to support this intervention GTR has sought funding through the National Stations Improvement Programme to assess the feasibility of a second entrance with the support of Network Rails' specialist engineers. A concept proposal has been prepared which considers a second entrance onto Windsor Walk connected via the recently installed footbridge with lifts. This has allowed the industry to understand the magnitude of costs, risks and constructability to inform a future bid for capital investment. We note that the station building is listed and that a capacity intervention of this nature will require local stakeholder support. GTR will shortly be meeting a mix of the Borough of Southwark's planning officers / team members and local elected members. The purpose will be to review the concept design so that representations on the solution and design can be understood and endorsed. This will allow an intervention to proceed into delivery stage as soon as reasonably practicable once the necessary significant funding is made available." What I fear is another planning disaster caused by Southwark Council. The station remodelling was after Southwark refused to allow the original pedestrian access between platforms to be widened and one of the original ticket office windows to be turned into a new doorway into the ticket office and onto the walkway. This added several million to the Access for All project costs as well as a huge delay from all the extra works. I will try and get invited to this critical meeting.
  14. Hi sweetgirl, You asked at 4.08pm on Friday. I've asked council officers for a schedule of SE22 street bins but they have up to 10 working days to respond. As soon as I have that list and any changes to it in the last 12 months I'll let you know and we ca work out where we need new ones. sweetgirl Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Any info on the bins James?
  15. Hi alex_b, I've asked council officials to fix. How barmy is that! alex_b Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > James - Thanks, the number on > https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid > =276&np=1 (Tel: 020 7525 2000 (24 hours)) just > sends you to a recorded message saying the line is > closed and open during business hours. > > Northeastview - It's about two feet deep and seems > to have undermined about three paving slabs, one > of which has broken and half fallen into the hole. > It's not going to swallow a house, but big enough > for someone to step into and break a leg.
  16. Hi Cedges, The officer is clear 9 seconds isn't right and they're looking to fix this within a fortnight. Hi Arborealist, Can you pleas report back to me via cllrjamesbarber@gmail.com if the promises made above to me are not kept. I can't test myself.
  17. Hi Nigello, Put the Christmas tree wherever you put the brown caddy or brown wheelie bin. Preferably not on the pavement obstructing it but clearly visible for the crews going round. On the general point about where wheelie bins should be stored. They should be in front gardens unless you don't have one. Occupying the pavement looks rubbish. The more pristine an area looks and the more an area looks looked after the less anti social stuff happens and the less crime happens.
  18. Hi alex_b, I've asked if this can be fixed urgently. On the 24 hour number. Can you please email me the link to the web page giving a 24 hour number that is office hours only please?
  19. All you need to do is leave it out on the food/garden waste collection day. gillfitzo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Does anyone know of any places to dispose of/ > recycle a Christmas tree in the Peckham/Ed area? > I had a look on the Southwark Council website but > as we don?t have a food/garden waste bin > collection the only option seems to be the > recycling center on the Old Kent Road. > > I believe Peckham Rye Park used to take them but I > can?t find any info online.. > > Thank you!
  20. I've just been told the following: " Southwark Council - Member enquiry - 871893 Subject: Women's Changing Rooms - Dulwich Leisure Centre ________________________________________ Dear Councillor Barber Thank you for your enquiry regarding the showers in the women?s changing room at Dulwich Leisure Centre. Please accept our apologies for the length of time taken to rectify the issues in the original complaint. We have contacted the centre manager from Everyone Active regarding the original complaint from the customer. The Manager has confirmed the following improvements as follows: ? In regards to the shower temperature, Everyone Active have tested the showers in female changing area and have not yet identified a drop in temperature however they will continue to monitor this ? The lock on the shower door has now been installed and a hook has been ordered and should be in place in the next two weeks ? Everyone Active are aware of short run times on one of the showers over the last couple of months and have adjusted this from around 5 seconds to 9 seconds however are planning further maintenance works in the next two weeks to increased the flow time by replacing some of the units to resolve this issue ? The doors on the showers including the hinges have been checked and Everyone Active will they will continue to monitor this We now have access to Everyone Active?s maintenance database so we will monitor all maintenance items including the above which have been recently added. The centre have recently reviewed the cleaning schedule and have put in place a new service contract to employ dedicated overnight cleaners to improve overall cleanliness. They have also changed the scent in the automatic scent dispenser in the changing rooms. They are confident this will address the recent comments regarding cleanliness and smells. We will check on the progress of the items raised (hooks, shower temperature and run times) with Everyone Active in the next couple of weeks to check that they are in place. "
  21. Hi KK, Those pictures show extreme dumping. I had reported twice over the holiday periods the Curry Cabin Eurobin being left on the pavement. But these what must be 50 black bins bags of rubbish are a different order of magnitude. I have asked council officers to sort this out and take enforcement action against whoever dumped these bags there.
  22. Hi Jeanne, Southwark Council have decided to move online and not accept problems and issues by telephone. The online form - https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/showform.asp During Christmas and New Year collection dates have changed. After Christmas they're two days later than normal and after New Year a day later than normal and return tot normal from next Monday. If your compliant is about a collection issue such as rubbish being strewn around the area then please email me with the details at cllrjamesbarber@gmail.com
  23. The resurfacing is programmed for February.
  24. Hi Pugwash, If you can put me in touch with some current social workers, OT's working in Southwark experiencing this problem I will work to et this resolved for them - I know not strictly in East Dulwich ward it must have some knock on impact of vulnerable people I our patch. Hi Sally, The next step is the formal Traffic Management Order which is effectively a formal public consultation. Real opportunity for you to make the case for longer hour of operations and equally those against. I'll endeavour to make people aware when this stage starts.
