  1. Yes they've been funded by East Dulwich ward councillors allocating some of our devolved capital Cleaner, Greener, Safer funding. Cllr Charlie Smith came up with the idea Cllr Rosie Shimell and I supported it and have done much of the councillor leg work to make them happen.
  2. The current premises status I believe is as an A1 shop. They were a wine shop come delicatessen that also served food. A change of use without the correct planning permission would be illegal.
  3. Hi amydown, If you email me your address Ill explain the rules for your home WRT dropped kerbs/crossovers/etc. It varies by road and even address under some circumstances.
  4. I will have formal planning department explanation of what and when or nothing is required early next week.
  5. Sadly I couldn't attend last night - any feedback from them meeting? The connection with Greendale could be widened to improve sight lines. Overall the path could be widened. The eastern end could be made much more attractive. I've submitted a Cleaner, Greener, Safer application so South Camberwell ward councillors can allocate the required funding or find other budgets.
  6. Hi Simon4360, The market operates on North Cross Road between Lordship Lane and Archdale Road - so any where out side that area within the normal restrictions of yellow lines and corners.
  7. I've been having a tough year. I was knocked from my bicycle at a roundabout in clear dry weather. Driver immediately admitted fault and two eye witnesses. No prosecution. Three weeks largely housebound from ankle and knee injuries. It happened in Herts and they clearly have the bias Townleygreen suggests generally pervades our legal system/society. Next week I take delivery of front and rear facing bicycle cameras. BUT what is the relevance of this debate to this road junction being changed? The fact that this was introduced into this thread shows how anti cycling we all are. It is a good thing to have quieter routes for less confident cyclists. Mention of Camberwell Grove being fine - that is true for current and historic cyclists but not of people who say they are too nervous to cycle. We need a step change in numbers and proportion of people cycling to help fight climate change, improve health, etc. The proposed new junction does not appear to have sufficient cycle capacity to support a growth or step change the number cycling.
  8. hi Lucy, I also contributed to the crowd funding. The new junction design being built purports to help improve the lot of cyclists. But its capacity for cyclists appears the same as current cycling levels. The width of those N-S segregated cycle lanes are too small for a growth in numbers cycling. It makes no sense. As for taking 6 months. That's just bad project management by Southwark Council. My lot tried to get the final decision for this scheme discussed at the main Over view & Scrutiny Committee but Labour wouldn't allow this. They are wedded to this design. Regards James. 9. This is the response I've had from council officials: "Dear Councillor In response to your enquires, which both relate to the event at Dulwich Hamlet on the 17th September. Please see the following link: https://shoobs.com/events/22185/family-fun-day-jerk-fest-car-stereo-clash Our records show that we had eight calls between 7.08pm and 8.20pm that evening. Officers arrived at the location at 8.24pm on arriving at the complaints locations they were informed that the music had stopped. However on leaving the location officers could still hear faint music , and found that the noise was not coming from Dulwich Hamlets FC , but from Sainsbury?s car park. There was a group of approximately 30 odd people, scattered around the car park playing loud music from their car stereos. It would appear that after the event closed (7pm), a number people had moved in to the car park and carried on. Officers could not make an assessment as to a Statutory Noise Nuisance , as they were unable to identify any particular source . However they called the Police at 8.53 pm (Cad 7945), two police cars arrived at 9.19pm , as soon as they did the music stopped and the cars started to drive away. The officers then contact all the outstanding callers and advised them of what had happened, when officers left there was no noise from the car park. A noise warning letter has been already sent to Dulwich Hamlets FC, on the 10th September, in response to the activities and noise that weekend. If you have any questions on this or any other maters please call me directly. "
  10. I wonder if Southwark Libraries could also act as collection points. Let me ask.
  11. BT are not universal across East Dulwich SE22 area. So real BT not spots - weirdly near their exchange! When I met with BT they asked if the council could make the required investment. So we need Virgin Media broadband to work reliably as some level of competition. We also need mobile phone masts upgraded for 4G LTE and soon 5G - but that's for another day. I contact VM formally Spring 2016 and was given all sorts of promises about August 2016. Clearly a problem. And the excuse of the council blocking them I just don't buy. One way to get their attention is via social media. If you can please retweet this so we get their attention -
  12. Hi eastdulwichhenry, I had thought it a one time event with a report to me that it went on until 2am on the astroturf. Looking at that thread appears a more regular problem now. I will ask the council noise team what they plan to do about this anti social behaviour. Hi Pugwash, I've asked about having average speed cameras on Barry Road - so far without success. That would solve the speeding problem.
  13. you got an answerphone for 999?
  14. I've lso had complaints about a party on the astro turf going on loudly until 2am. LEt me ask what the noise team will be doing to get reasonable behaviour back.
  15. Hi Pugwash, Let me speak with the church. They have some private parking. Equally Barry road is too fast for less mobile people cross or divert around crossings. Hi Worldwiser, I'm also waiting a reply. I'll chase tomorrow.
  16. Hi worldwiser, The occupants should have received letter from the council explaining their waste arrangements . Precurosr to fining people ignoring them. Let me check this took place.
  17. As a member of Heathrow Action Campaign Against Noise (HACAN) I receive this email a couple of weeks ago: " Dear Friends, There is increasing concern about flight paths and aircraft noise from Heathrow over South and South East London. Some areas have also been experiencing more noise from London City aircraft following the concentration of its flight paths last year. More positively, Heathrow will be holding a public consultation later this year to get people?s views on the design principles which should inform the root and branch review of flight paths it will be undertaking (whether or not it gets permission for a third runway). It will be asking communities for their thoughts on the importance of things like respite. We want to make sure that the community voice in South and South East London is as strong as possible and so we are proposing to set up HACAN South East London as a sister body to HACAN and HACAN East. We would like to invite you to an the inaugural meeting of HACAN South East London on 26th September at 7.30pm at Kennington Park Community Centre, 8 Harleyford Street, SE11 5SY (just beside the Oval Cricket Ground). Do come along! It will be a chance to hear from campaigners about the latest developments at Heathrow and London City airports. And it will be a chance to give your views about what the new body should concentrate on. With best regards, John Stewart Chair HACAN " If aircraft noise annoys you then worth going to this inaugural meeting.
  18. Yesterday evening we had a mediation session for Frogley Road residents bout the extreme anti social waste collections of Lordship Lane businesses and Deliveroo riders making a racket outside homes. If anyone else is suffering form such anti social noises please get in touch.
  19. You've all been very kind. Thank you.
  20. Hi Everyone, My father died recently and apart from being upset I've had a great deal to organise. Service will get back to normal soon. Best wishes, James.
  21. Hi ed history, Abe, etc, After much chasing we're still waiting the officer listing of public realm issues. We have allocated some of our devolved revenue funding to help make this happen. More chasing to do I'm afraid. Hi rch, The calculations you talk about shouldn't take more than a quiet afternoon to complete. The money could have been allocated by ward councillors and the repairs taking place by now. Extremely frustrating for this money to be sitting in the bank earning next to zero interest while we have unrepaired pavements and roads. It is a lame excuse.
  22. When I meet with Police officers they stress they'd like people to report more suspicious activities and not filter so much. They would welcome people calling the Police 101 non emergency number. The activity you've described would in my mind was sufficiently suspicious that the Police would want to know. If they had a spare patrol car or other resource they would be sent. It might deter things from happening or they might catch someone in the act. Only way Policing can work is people reporting suspicious activities. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yeah I thought about it but what to report.
  23. Hi P68, I'm puzzled. I think you're suggesting the inconvenience of people being delayed can be calculated for specific journeys, hours, days but that the loss of sleep for local residents for each night could not be calculated. I don't see why not. When Southwark Council had works to do they made much more effort to minimise nigh time disturbance than TfL have taken.
  24. Hi Robin, We have not funded all BikeHangar CGS applications in the past. So we've taken this opportunity to do that now. Catching up. We have 9900 registered voters in East Dulwich ward. So far 6 BikeHangars or 36 bicycles can be safely stored. Clearly a strategic transport project would be needed to really provide cycle parking at scale. Sadly the current administration has decided not to do this when asked - repeatedly. AS you know we now only have two opportunities a year to allocate or reallocated devolved funding under the new local democracy the current administration has introduced. We used the last Dulwich Community Council meeting to reallocate funds and they should be spent by he next decision making meeting. But please do apply for the CGS projects you'd like us to support when the next round if funding opens in October/November. Regards James. rch Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Just to be clear Rendal, the astonishing update > comment was because just minutes after I posted to > say that I thought the cycle hangars should be > paid for by internal council funding and not > devolved local CGS funding, I found a link > confirming that the council was indeed paying for > hangars in the area and therefore we didn't need > to allocate CGS for this. > > It's actually a good thing. > > And if the council are being encouraged by the > Mayor in one form or another, then that's even > better. > > Hopefully this means that councillors will approve > CGS funding for things that residents actually > apply for in the future... which is what CGS > funding is supposed to be for. > > Nigello... sadly, there was a situation a while > ago where cycle hangars were cut open and the > cycles easily stolen. 25. Hi Tuffsteuff100, College ward councillors would need to allocate funds. Best way would be for you to application for CGS funds for a BikeHnagar when the next round opens around October/November. I can help you complete the application form. If you email me I'll put something in my diary to contact you when applications are being accepted. Best email to reach me is [email protected] Tuffstuff100 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Is money available for college ward too?
