  1. How about Hank Rollins and the boys being as hardcore as it's humanly possible to be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5JYzPcqwiM&feature=player_embedded#!
  2. Do Slayer count under this heading? Loud repetitive beats abound on Reign in Blood. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgpzLUCY0rU&feature=related
  3. Yes are a good choice: deeply unfashionable, but some (some) decent work. Genesis ditto. I'd add Rush too, who at least have one of the greatest drummers that ever lived. And as Pavement (great body of work, but fashionable) say: "What about the voice of Geddy Lee? How did it get so high? I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy? (I know him and he does)."
  4. Thin Lizzy are cool. As is Lloyd Cole. Dire Straits is a good one. I would add Genesis. Also Iron Maiden. ZZ Top maybe. Barry Manilow?
  5. I run to St Pauls from Peckham (Lyndhurst Way). So thinking about a route in reverse, I would head over the wobbly bridge, down the Thames path to city hall and then cut down towards the Bricklayers flyover on the Old Kent road (there are good backroutes avoiding the main road) You can then go under the underpass and make your way to Burgess Park (either down OKR or through the backstreets). When the park is open you could head across it, either to Surrey Canal Path or Benhill road. You can do this at the moment by going around the park. Depends if you're heading to Goose Green or Denmark Hill. So if the former all the way up Bellenden from the end of Surrey Canal to Goose Green. If the latter, you can give your glutes some hammer going up Camberwell Grove which has a good surface and on the right hand side no roads to cross until you get to the top. Down champion Hill to the cycle path to JAGs if you live at that end of ED or across to the top of Denmark Hill. Not traffic or people free, but a lot less grim than the elephant and Walworth.
  6. No you didn't: you linked to a Jabs screed full of scare stories and misinformation.
  7. Fuschia You really shouldn't link to the unpleasant lunatics at JABS.
  8. Mmr in the Uk has never contained mercury.
  9. Never had any trouble in 7 years on the canal path or Burgess Park, running or cycling. I am 17st and well weapon though.
  10. Park opens in june
  11. Chisora has been arrested at Munich airport!
  12. I think price looks really good. He'd beat Fury. He'll beat Chisora too.
  13. British heavyweights looking good at the moment (price, the mighty Fury, Joshua after the olympics). But I fear Delboy will get mullered.

    Rugby matters

England look as poor as I've seen them since the late eighties. That said, I reckon the positives are there. The two props have been outstanding. Robshaw is worthy of his berth. And Morgan looks good. I think if Lancaster has the balls to drop Youngs, Dowson and sort out the midfield they might compete with Wales and Ireland.
  15. Perhaps in Uruguay, it is the highest form of respect not to shake someone's hand.
  16. Fenwick Road seems fine to me. Lots of families, streets fairly busy, so quite safe. Very well positioned too. Most areas to the west of Peckham Rye (the road) are pretty good. And Peckham Rye (the park) is a wonder. Good for transport, pubs and Shops. I'd live there.
  17. Gypsy Hill, half a mile south from DCPS.

    Rugby matters

I thought the front row was good. With lawes in the second row and Wood returning at 7, croft on the bench aNd Morgan at 8, the pack will go better.
  19. I recall how vehement the opposition was to this school.
  20. It's an important article. I sense it triggered the beginning of the decline in belief in homeopathy. The lack of evidence is of course very powerful, but more damning is the sheer lunacy of the theory behind it. Once you are aware of that, only the most gullible and adamant could retain any belief in homeopathy's efficacy. BrinGing this to posters' attention is in the public interest.

    Rugby matters

There's no way you can see England winning anything, which means they'll put France and Ireland to the sword and lose the other three.
  22. Lemmy's from Burslem/stoke isn't he? So not a Brummie. Same as Robbie Williams, Slash and Discharge. There's a supergroup in there somewhere.
  23. Aren't most of those cited autobiographies? Best biography is Hammer of the Gods
  24. I counted 2. 0-0 thriller. For real.
