    Time!

    KK, are you a timelord?
  3. Ooh yes, good call. I put a vest on today. It made me feel terribly sensible and not at all like my teenage self who slept a Feburary night in a draughty Manchester train station dressed in hotpants and t-shirt just so my mum wouldn't know I'd been clubbing.
  4. Yeah, that's a shame. I'd always wondered about bans - when people come back in another guise, whether they're given leaway or, once you know it's definitely them, the original ban stays. Seems in this case, there was a bit of both, which also seems entirely fair enough.
  5. Just what I was about to ask - are we allowed to know that stuff, or is it because he was already banned that it was more an upholding of the original ban?
  6. Big Mac in lowbrow culture shocker
  7. You might be right there Quids, but I've just found myself sucked into reading the comments on the Mail website and need to Step. Away. From. The. Computer. You'd think I'd learn...
  8. I have a mate who's 51 and he's still pretty nifty on the ball down the park every week - reckon you fellas should give it a go - a veterans league perhaps. Then we ladies can come and enjoy the view.
  9. I think there may be mitigating factors depending on your hair type. There's probably some kind of analysis that would help you enter a plea bargain.
  10. Watched Manhattan for the first time on Sunday. Have resisted long time because I find Woody Allen icky. Overall I thought it was glorious - funny and clever and touching - but there was one scene with his big old man's hand on Mariel Hemingway's teenage shoulder that just made me feel icky all over again. Not sure I'll ever come to terms with him.
  11. Haha, officially I only get 45 minutes. Thinking of heading to the greasy spoon for a breakfast
  12. Have taken the entirely sensible step of working from home today. Ahhh, cosy cosy flat.

    Dogs in pubs?

Trust me brum, no kind of Debbie Does Dalmations thing going on here...

    Dogs in pubs?

Herne also dog-friendly. More dogs in pubs please - top floor flat means I seek vicarious dog pleasure
  15. Shame you didn't use the picture on the back of the single Mick.
  16. In this particular instance, satin is altogether sexier
  17. No no brum, that outfit's not PVC - it's satin innit
  18. Oh thank god Monica, I thought I was the only one...
  19. Sage advice Tarot. I felt old last night when dancing to an old school classic - Voodoo Ray - except this time it was with 10 kids in a game of musical statues. Only the day before I had been debating in the pub whether it was from 88 or 89 ( it was 88). I used to be 15 and groovy...
  20. Happy happy happy - make it magnificent
  21. Always a bit wary of following Sean on one of these threads for fear of looking like knee-jerk liberal lackey, but I think the right-wing perceived "victimhood" of criminals is a bit of a red herring. Surely it makes sense to work out WHY people commit crimes, not so that we can give them a nice comfy sofa in their cell because mummy never loved them, but so that something can be done to try to reduce crime in the future. As for people with mental health problems, erm, yes, they're ill. So you know, we should, like, treat the illness. Or something. To Quids' point about The Guardian's sense of right and righteousness, well yes, there is that. And Quids, I think you're right. But surely there's that in the Times or the Telegraph too..? That's the feeling I always come away with when reading those papers (I read all the papers for work so it's not just the occasional perusal at the folks' house). I do genuinely wonder if it isn't the case that certain papers will grate more than others in their polemic because the views expressed are very much at odds with the reader's own... Or maybe I am just a bleeding heart pinko.

    Weird meat

    Damn straight.

    Weird meat

Now I know I'm just asking for trouble in asking this question, and I will confess to trying to seek some inspiration for some work that I was supposed to do at 9am, so that I can go and get dressed and then go and get drunk. But, are any of you aware of any meat scare stories / urban myths - you know, along the lines of the Kentucky Fried Cyst, or chickens that are born with no heads and just grown for gargantuan breasts?
  24. Oh lordy, I've come over all unnecessary.
  25. Seriously Kel? God I love that film, and the book's brilliant - stayed up til 5am on a school night to finish it. Ahhh, Rhett Butler...
