  1. "Unlike China with its firing squads, the only 'shooting galleries' we have in Britain are state-run needle exchanges for junkies" It's a thing of rare and exquisite beauty. Actually, the one thing that gives me hope when reading some of the drivel the Mail comes out with, is that oftentimes the readers seem to disagree vehemently with the columnists if you read the comments box (although on the strength of today's comments, I am assuming that the good people commenting have picked up this article via an outraged twitter feed or similar - they don't sound like real Mail readers)
  2. Thanks LM. Bit soppy I know, but weirdly right now, I'm just feeling happy they're in my life.
  3. Ooh, a spine wizard...
  4. Oh and my 10 year old niece's mean dancing skills.
  5. Worth a watch then Keef - am looking for a diversion for the evening..? Am I right though, in the end it's all just really bleak and the triffids win? Because that might just push me over the edge.
  6. Realising that I had it large in Ibiza more than half my life ago...
  7. The sense, however abritrary and metaphorical, of a clean sheet and all the untapped promise that holds (screwed by February, but hey, it's the thought that counts). Also the reminder to have a word with myself and get things into perspective - hoping that two friends fighting cancer make it through to NYE 2010.
  8. I'm not digging at the boy Carnell's youthful appearance (who on earth could find fault with that visage? not I sir, not I) More at his rather marvellous poshness - I fondly imagine that his man servant would help him off with the Christmas wrapping on his Faberge eggs and Holbein canvasses...
  9. I'm just shocked that you call her mum and not mummy.
  10. Is The Eye staging a forum takeover..? Is this a hitherto unanticipated coup?
  11. Dude, is Omar new to you?
  12. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And a strapadictomy op. See above - "accoutrements"
  13. Pink oboe??? That's nice work Mr Lush. I know THAT - hence my offer to draw on the tache. Derrrrrr
  14. Yep, that much I know...
  15. Not entirely sure what that means, but Jah, are you suggesting I couldn't turn a man? Pish and tish!
  16. For Omar, I'd draw on a 'tache... (and you know, whatever other accoutrements were required)
  17. I'm gonna marry me some Omar
  18. Here's another one from those brilliant weekly women's mags: "Last Christmas I didn't get the nice fluffy slippers I'd hoped for. So with the help of some sanitary towels, cotton and thread, plus a bit of imagination, I made my own." Cosy.
  19. Hurrah, I agree with you all. And it's not just because of the champagne I've just opened in the office. I'm inclined to think that Quids and Sean probably ARE lacking sleep and are too cool respectively, but top and bottom, they're right, it isn't funny. And is a bit lazy and rubbish. Now the story in the papers this week that men really are better parkers than women on the other hand...
  20. When I were a lass there were two types of boys - those who fancied Kate Bush and those who fancied Debbie Harry. I wanted to go out with the ones who fancied Debbie Harry but always seemed to go out with the ones who fancied Kate Bush. I have recently discovered that there are boys who fancy both ladies - which is a marvellous thing, because I have a girl crush on the pair of them. Talented, gorgeous and take no shit. Hurrah for the mighty Bush.
  21. It is. No contest, British men are HOT.
  22. Yeah, but I think Amis was in serious trouble with his teeth before he did (at least that's the impression Experience gives)
  23. There's a butchers at Smithfiled outside the market that's open at reasonable times of the day - got a massive ham from there the other day at lunchtime. Unhelpfully I can't give you the name of it, but it's next door to Smithfields Bar & Grill (and is currently selling a whole rolled sirloin for ?19.90
  24. Or there's a chair in the For Sale section that might keep him otherwise occupied...
