  1. Personally I would advocate wearing your own hat HonaB - you never know what you might pick up from the unwashed art students' greasy manes. However BBW, Bar Story is great and anything that increases general hat wearing can only be a good thing. I shan't be going tomorrow night as I have a prior engagement, but I might wear a hat anyway in celebration of the anniversary.
  2. Nick, yay, this sounds brilliant. I for one am a fan of the jumpsuit (or rompersuit as some will have it) and usually find the clothes around ED are a little too White Stuff for my tastes. Melbourne Grove considerably closer than East London for the Vibe - a most welcome addition to the area.
  3. I'm passing too this time - no BBW, no incentive...
  4. I was in the supermarket the other day, talking to my friend on the phone who was telling me all about her weight loss on account of swine flu. No idea what my side of the conversation gave away, but a lovely lady came and tapped me on the shoulder to interrupt the conversation and said that if I was talking about Alli, I should be aware that it makes you shit yourself.

    I need a drink !

I need a drink of dirty cola juice - job interview on the morrow...
  6. Not any more Quids, they've gone and redesigned and I'm not sure I approve.
  7. Was in Boots in Peckham today - they have a full range: original medicated, something else and then children's stuff All the Vosene your heart could desire

Until then... > All fair points save this last one I think, louisiana. Mankind doesn't need religion to start a war, only to serve as an excuse. Hunger for power, avarice, aggression - all the baser natural human instincts will give reason enough.
  9. Cross posted with HAL9000. For property, probably no. For another person, probably yes.
  10. I don't think you can base it on a rational decision to be honest, at least I can't. I've been involved in situations like that 3 times: twice I intervened and it was anger and reflex, I just couldn't stand what I was seeing. I didn't have the time to think it through. The other time, it still haunts me that I did nothing, even though I'm pretty sure I would have had the crap kicked out of me. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I think we have a responsibility towards our fellow man.
  11. I say yea, yea and thrice yea. My body, my life, they are mine to do with as I will. Should I ever reach such a point of physical incapacitation, I would be glad to know that, in that regard, my wishes could still be carried out, even were I not physically able to carry them out myself.
  12. I'm seconding D_C's recommendation for Le Taj: also byo. I find the second menu yields great and atypical deliciousness.
  13. Yeah, absolutely shameless PR stunt. I'm a chap and I'm going on chap's radio, so I'm going to get down with the chaps and say something a little risque, "a bit of blue for the dads", if you will, as that terrifically funny northern chap said once. I've heard that white van man is rather partial to the odd bit of anglo saxon invective - at least that's what my advisors tell me. Must confess that I've cribbed the line a bit from something I read in Private Eye, but it goes down an absolute storm with the chaps at the rugger. I'll throw in a bit about the Killers and Morrissey, that Mike Flowers fellow is terrific. Tomorrow I'm going to say something rude about johnny foreigner, that'll bring the votes in. And anyone who thinks better of him for it. Twats! (Tw@ts! - really Admin, that bad a word? If Cameron can say it, can't I?)
  14. A little late in the day, but how many tw@ts make a Cameron..? (hey, it's not a swearword on radio apparently, but it is on here..?) Not once, but TWICE! Holy twatola, twice!!! Might make my mum think he's not such a nice man after all
  15. Oooh, posh dinner - have a birthday chateaubriand for me - Happy Birthday x
  16. Are you sure Wimpole? Usually if I want food at that time, it might be because I've had a few ales. And if I have, then I'm more likely to want food badness than a superjuice. That said, try Hisar for some tasty looking falafel and salad late of an evening.

Think we are BN5, think we are? Yeah, you're probably right. I'm vaguely aware of a fried chicken place in Camberwell that delivers late, but I imagine it's in all likelihood not up to ED's organic standards. Actually, what am I talking about - used it once and it wasn't even up to my drunk-and-will-feast-at-the-chicken-cottage standards.
  18. Oh god, cross posting...
  19. You know Sean, for a while there I DID believe you were a nice boy.
  20. Now Sean, don't go disabusing the world of the notion that you're a nice boy.
  21. Ooh, PR, tightly argued.
  22. You're a legend sir. Both these numbers are going under E for Emergency in my phone. Unfortunately I fell asleep directly after eating a fortune cookie I found in the bottom of my bag and went to bed without any supper. Now I'm wondering if anywhere delivers bacon butties as I have no food in the house but can't leave as I'm waiting for a delivery. Pah.
  23. That I could call from taxi cabulator to coincide with my victorious return home?

    Torchwood

Oh god no, I never watched Torchwood - just those 5 episodes on iplayer when getting in late at night and needing to wind down. How foolish I was... (and you know I don't really think That Programme's about drugs, don't you?)
