  1. Oh man, I'm out of it for a day and all this going on? WQ - wedges - ooh, looky looky but is comfort all it's cracked up to be? This discussion seemed to bloom while I was having the lady equivalent of a waking wet dream in Liberty's shoe department last night. Hie thee hence - they even have some great flats (who knew such a thing were possible?) and D_C - absolutely go for the hat, absolutely definitely. There's not enough raffish insouciance in East Dulwich I think. A little debonair style goes a long way

It's been going on in the mags n that for over a year now, and Top Shop's certainly been feeding it onto the high street. However I think they're considerably less ubiquitous than the low rise skinny because they're somewhat less flattering unless you're super super slim. Also, bodies are back - up and down the land you can hear the the popping of press studs as crotches burst free at inappropriate moments... There's only one thing for it - jumpsuits - they've been around a while, but they're going nowhere yet. DVF has a particularly lovely one that I have my eye on if I can save the three or so hundred pounds Alternatively, and hopefully helpfully, invest in a vest from American Apparel - they're long enough to cope with a low rise and thin enough to wear under something else
  3. thanks DD, you are a peach
  4. Well Declan, you're just a low-down no-good son of a cunting m**herf**ker and I'm gonna round up my ED posse and we're gonna beat you upside the head in the manner of karate elvis Except it's been quite a long day already, so maybe I'll let you off just the one time and hope you see the error of your ways this might help

  6. Declan, now I'm gonna start some bullying on yo ass. You take that back. Take it back now.
  7. daizie, well, I'm shocked! ok any parents want them, or feel a particular local school is very deserving? very happy to stick them in the post, but wouldn't be able to drop them off in school hours
  8. does he look like the man on the cover of Observer Woman today? if so, there might be a pretty penny to be made
  9. yes, I thought bumble bees didn't sting (or is that an urban myth?)* I love bumble bees: defying the laws of physics with their cuddly furry flight - they're the happiest of insects - matthew123 I think you might be a little bit dead inside... I recommend a course of a host of golden daffodils and 15 minutes beautiful birdsong administered three times a day until you see the error of your ways *edited because I have just looked up bumble bees and apparently, yes they can sting, so I have been conned - still lovely furry little feckers though
  10. Anyone know any schools that are collecting these? (possibly they all are - I'm not really down with the local schools...) I have a few and figured it made sense to pass them on.
  11. Well I had an excellent night - failed to speak to as many people as I intended to but I think I made up for it by inappropriate touching up of CharlieCharlie's necklace in the toilets - and Keef, yes, I did think you looked quite the cool rider. Managed to get kebab juice all over the sofa when i got in though.

  13. I think these trollish postings are coming from a secret West Dulwich bunker hidden somewhere under the south pacific *poppylucky strokes white cat and laughs, mwah ha ha ha ha ha haaaa"
  14. dulwichdoll, genuine question here, but on reading Poppy's previous posts, did you really think she might have seen rats that could fell a child and been upstairs and spoken to a bus conductor on a single decker bus when conductors were abolished years ago?

Just the one this post has illustrated about > a minority of forumites Brilliant, I've always been remarkably restrained and sensible on here, even when I've wanted to call someone a right fucking cunt fucker, so I'm pleased to have shed my nice girl image. Even if it is only to someone as wilfully contrary as your good self. I'm going down the Lodge tonight to see if the Pink Ladies will have me, and if not them, maybe the T Birds.
  16. dulwichdoll Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My point exactly !(!) oh for fuck's sake dulwichdoll, go and have a read of Poppy's previous posts. She's complained about appalling behaviour on a bus that doesn't exist, ignored by a conductor that doesn't exist, and weird shit about giant rats the size of cats and something about a lollypop that I can't remember. Now, it IS possible that there are rats the size of cats in ED, but I think that would have made national headlines. There is no 436 bus with an upstairs or conductor - FACT. So, clearly made up. This new story about dog shit might not be. But the fact that she's being treated like the boy who cried wolf is hardly surprising under the circumstances. capiche?
  17. Hmmm, Just to clarify, I'm not calling Mikecg a c**t you understand, just thought the song rather apposite. But yes, the ?10 waving is rather cockish. Actually on a couple of levels - besides the obvious, surely if you wanted to be totally wankerish city boy about it, it should have been fifties..? ?10 notes just smack of working in the city as a tea boy...
  18. I'm only sad that Poppy didn't happen to have a few rats the size of cats about her person to confront the "thug". That would have showed him
  19. SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > it's not just the volume - the vernacular requires > concentration and exposure. Quite so - but having it loud helps you at least work out what they're saying, even if you have no clue what it means. Ahhhhhh, the Wire...

Yeah, me three. Although he looks like he might smell a bit, but covered up with expensive (and possibly ladies') perfume, bet he'd be right good. I quite liked the interview Sean quoted, although yes, quite possibly the words of his PR person.
  21. Ladygooner, whenever I watch the Wire I have to turn the sound right up - there have been a couple of scenes that I understood not one word of, even on thrice repeating - but believe me it gets really good, it does, it gets sooooo good. Give it one more try - with the sound turned up REALLY LOUD

  23. Reg, are you actually Jonathan Meades?
  24. I was made for loving you Edited to clarify, that would be my song of choice, not a proposition to Mr SMG
