  1. Judge rules: Brendan disqualified. 12" not allowed.

I'm done for. I like the tautology though. That should be a book of the OT. Tauterology - each pleonasm more brutal and bloodthirsty than the last.
  3. Of course, give it a couple of months and he'll be drinking this instead.
  4. nikkinuts, I'm unconvinced that people on the forum aren't showing community spirit, if you look around the site you'll see that people have already asked what they can do and where they can donate (and to be honest, I'm not sure telling people they have no community spirit is going to help win anyone round). It might help your cause if you explain a bit about who you are and what you're planning to do with the donations. I don't mean to be sceptical, but as it stands, you're just asking people to come and leave their belongings in the garden of a mystery "very kind lady".
  5. I'd rather 7 floors (even when I was on crutches) than that lift!
  6. As I said, I think yarn bombing can be a cause of surprise and delight. But I think the OP throwing her toys out of the pram in such a spectacularly teenage fashion only makes me want to be more vocal in opposition, as is my contrary wont. I can't help it, I was dragged up, my favourite parks are car parks. As for PGC, I haven't tasted, but have heard very good things about her condiments. Sadly, I don't own so much as a jam pan.
  7. Fine, be argumentative, but don't misquote me back to me. That was PGC. You're in the mood for getting arsey? Select your target more accurately.
  8. You don't need to teach children - if you look at my post, it refers to art workshops that are already going on - I was simply suggesting inviting them to get involved.
  9. I didn't piss on anyone's thread. I suggested she might want to get the people whose area she's planning to decorate involved too. I have some experience in working with local communities, and I can tell you that they really don't like it when you just go in and impose something that you have unilaterally decided will be nice for them. Consult them, get them involved and then it's something that everyone can be proud of. The reason the Peckham wall was so successful was that it was inclusive and anyone could join in.
  10. Also a British Heart Foundation furniture shop on Old Kent Road
  11. I don't think it's just you PGC. I think there's a real element of surprise and delight to yarnbombing (providing it isn't left to fester) but I think imposing it on an area that you're not directly connected to could smack of superficiality. Getting the kids of Peckham involved is a great idea. maryearlam, why not talk to Peckham Space to see if they could get involved - free art workshops for kids in Peckham that are in need of more funding - that way it could be a genuine community project making a real difference? For everyone else wanting to do something nice in Peckham, they're crowdfunding at the moment and need more money. If creativity's your thing, please give generously.
  12. No Rick. I think you're the retard in this particular scenario. If you understood my post (and frankly, a moron like you, I'm not surprised you didn't) you would see that I was suggesting that far from being a homophobe, you actually have quite an obsessive interest in other men's bottoms.
  13. You seem to be very hung up on the homosexual act of love, Rick. I'm thinking an index offence perhaps. This gentleman doth protest too much.
  14. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Rick's habit of using bold for the "rats" bit of > Democrats isn't clue enough? Or his unironic use of the word "slag"? There's a word for people like that.
  15. maryearlam, my question is a genuine one - what does happen afterwards? Do you agree to leave it up for a certain amount of time and then go and take it all down again?
  16. Anyat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- I think it is just easier to spot under the subject... Because this was tricky to get your head round?
  17. What happens to the bits that have been yarn bombed afterwards? Looks awesome, but I've always wondered what happens when the rain comes and there's just a load of wet straggly wool hanging from the trees?
  18. No wrath Rick, I just want honesty from people. Oh, and no rabies.
  19. now who wants to kiss mockney?
  20. Apology fine and as you were. It's nothing to do with being unable to refute Max's arguments. To post three paragraphs as your own words is taking the piss. Because I'd read the article (disagreed with about 80% and agreed with about 20)%, I knew it to be plagiarism. Perhaps if other people aren't always picked up on it, it's because it's not quite so brazen and goes unnoticed..? If you don't want to quote the source (lest we feral liberals round on you for your Tory reading habits), you can always say, "here's something I read the other day". Passing it off as your own, not on.
  21. Although if you don't credit your sources, I believe that to be plagiarism.
  22. Nice cut and paste.
  23. Do you want to kiss david_carnell?

  25. I disagree. I think there is a genuine belief that those with power and authority - be they bankers, politicians, journalists or the police - can get away with things that ordinary citizens can't. I hear this regularly from friends: put together MPs expenses, bankers' bonuses, corruption at NOTW and the Met and there's a very real, very palpable sense of anger. That's not to say that the riots were directly motivated by that, I don't think for a minute that they were, but I do think that that drip feed of a sense of injustice and other people "helping themselves" and going unpunished helped, along with the other factors mentioned in the article, to cook up a perfect storm that resulted in one almighty f*ck you.
