Flats being demolished in Solomons Passage SE15

Following on from this mess there is an interesting article in this week's Southwark News regarding more Wandle homeowners on page 17. It certainly appears there are problems on Wandle homes from when the first brick is laid. Is management up to the job? Are there still other stories to appear. Less haste more speed seems to be the word. -

I have just listened to the interview on BBC drive time and would suggest that local residents take the time to do the same. Thank god that Eddie Nestor has taken this up and promised he will not let the matter drop. His interviews were excellent. The programme put all those involved to shame and the interview with the Wandle Chief Executive has to be listened too to be believed. All you people that post on the forum regarding trivial and petty things should listen and put your support behind these people who will suffer through no fault of their own. At least Harriet Harman spoke sense and nailed the matter regarding all that is wrong with this whole affair. Let's hope that the National Press picks this up so those at fault cannot pass the buck. -

Perhaps Renata Hamvas might like to comment on building control. I always thought each stage had to be signed off by building control. -

This does not benefit social housing residents they are pawns in the system. Lives thrown into the melting pot. The point is why were these flats not monitoried during the building. Where was Southwark Building Control. Housing shortage just got larger. Construction company used by the Housing Association will probably or maybe has gone into liquidation. Blame apportionment and settlement will take years. -

These are new built flats. What happened to building control, quantity surveyors, architects? Southwark are all over you like rash when you try to do anything what happened here? Who will pick up the bill for all these families and will heads roll? I very much doubt anyone will take the blame but people's lives will be destroyed. How many other properties are the same but no one is saying anything. -
Perhaps actually saying what social strata and culture the problem stems from might be a good first step in solving the problem. Unfortunately people are afraid to point the finger. Until that happens you can discuss until the cows come home.

The area around the exercise machines is a bog and walking across the grass you sink Never happened before. A muddy bog all over Did no one think this might happen -

Because this this is a road that is used by traffic to the builders yard. Not a space/private drive on your property. -
former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
richard tudor replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes. As it seemed to be an area no one could put forward an answer. So according to you there is no problem dropping someone off? -
It did have have choices that people wanted 20 years who lived in the area but not the precious choices the new residents want now. Not much has changed
