I noticed that one day when I didn't get my usual seat at the front!! Am now eighing up the options of comfort over a better view!!!! My god, I am sad!!

Oh yes... and not only is it as annoying as previous busses... it now seems to speak randomly at you!!! Didn't take long for the greasy haired amongst the 40 passengers to make the windows all streaky and minging with their lovely hair products. Gross.
  8. Experienced the new 40 this morning! Apart from the driver not being able to operate all of his funky new gadgets properly, it was a very pleasing journey!! How long they will stay nice is up for debate though. One thing I do miss from the older design is the "footrest" that ran along the front few seats on the top deck on the left hand side of the bus.
  9. Lake Walloon, Michigan, USA.
  10. For god's sake. The people asking for a further description want to know one thing - were they BLACK or WHITE. They want to be able to nod their heads and think their racist sterotype was correct if the answer is black or sit back and raise their eyebrows in surprise if told they are white.
  11. When I've been standin waiting on a bus for about 10 minutes and other come just as the bus pulls up and barge passed me to get on first.

    G20

The big protest is being planned near Bank tube station. 4 different themed protests all heading towards Bank from about 11am. The theme for the 4 protests is "The Four Horses of the Apocolypse". One is marching from London bridge, one from Liverpool St and the other 2 from other stations I can't remember... the idea is for a "peacful" picnic infront of the BOE but police are fearing a massive confrontation just like the protests in 1999. Lots of companies are beefing up security for the day and even considering teling people to stay at home... or if coming in to stay out of their usual suits and dress casually!!! My mate is moving down from Glasgow to start a new job next week on the day the protests are planned... his work is about 200 yeards from the BOE!!! Should be a fun day for him.
  14. crikey. I take it this was by the bus stop at the end of Goodrich Road? Drove by earlier and it was taped off with police around it.
  15. ... I saw what happened and was shocked to see the driver of the van just drive off without really stopping and checking how you were. He was completely in the wrong. Unfortunately I didn't get the registration number but if you did and are going to the police, I will happily be a witness. PM me if you read this.
  16. Still there if anyone else has lost one!! Sorry it wasn't the one you were looking for lilolil
  17. This was first thing in the morning... about 8am.
  18. This is going to sound unreal... but I was sat on the 40 today and there was a black channel purse on top of the bus stop just after camberwell green... looked like it had just been thrown up there. It was quite close to the edge so may have been easily seen and someone may have grabbed it. Quite far from Peckham Park though,

I'll not bother trying to get rid of this nuisance and just let him get on with bothering half of the residents of Goodrich/Friern/Hillcourt/Dunstans...
  20. Just been called by Duncan at the East Dulwich Safer Neighborhood team and they pulled a kid last night that was zipping around on a scooter with no exhaust!! Served him a "Code 57" (or something like that - I forget the real term he used) and if he gets caught again he'll be in bother. I wondered why I didn't hear him last night!! Hopefully that will put an end to it.

Seems it might be multiple riders... still if we can get one registration number, Duncan can pay him a visit and obtain the information as to who the guy is doing the work....

Will be putting in a late shift tonight to have a word. Spoke to Duncan who was very nice and helpful and if anyone catches a glimpse of his registration number we've to get it to Duncan as he can pay him a visit at home.

Left a message for Duncan to call me and filled in the form on the Southwark website. Hopefully put an end to this god awful noise. Failing that - the piano wire acorss the road seems a good shout!!!
