There's definitly going to be a return of starbucks in the new sainsbury's - and its going to be bigger than before; remember chatting to one of the checkout ladies about it

I had to look after a girl on fri who'd cut her toe's on broken tiles on the bottom of the pool - I had to agree with her mum who commented that things like that should have been sorted out during its closure. I used the pool regularly last year but always found it really busy during lane swimming, the last few wks I've discovered Peckham Pulse which while not perfect is bigger and less busy. East Dulwich pool is lovely but needs a proper makeover rather than a make-do.

omg a Steeple Bumpstead mention..... I grew up about 5 miles from there!!! Until I read this thread I'd completely forgotten Le Moulin existed even though I go past it regularly - its so beige (literally!) that it blends in to the background

A friend in Streatham has 2 chickens she got from Omlet and from what she said one of the guys from the company came and set up her egloo for her - the run has a wide fringe on it which is dug under the grass to keep the hen's safe and she makes sure she shuts them in the hen house at night after they've settled in there. Have had eggs from her and their scummy!

This sounds like it could be fab, unfortunately I'm in the middle of a set of nights on tue otherwise I'd be down to G&B to see you - I'm Jenny really. Apparently a guy I went to college with now teaches pole dancing so I could have a useful contact for activities!!!! Look forward to hearing more x

Where should I take my Mun for dinner on Monday?
buggie replied to Michael Palaeologus's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Amelie, I think you're talking about Jack's - which is a cafe that do rather good ciabbata's and home made cakes. It's on Pellat road just up from the laundrette. -
I'm only 5ft 2" and I love my croc's!!! Bought them down in Cornwall as everyone was wearing them, and a week after returning broke my toe so they were the only thing I could wear for the week following. They are fantastic, and I don't think their too clumpy at all, even my boyfriend likes them and he can be bit funny about things like them!

have had several take aways from Thai Pavillion and thought its pretty good - not breathtaking, but nice and would (well have) eaten it again!

Sean; he works in the big glass box like building opp side of the bridge to the tower - he says it gets v distracting sometimes when there's interesting traffic on the river! -

working at kings as you can guess my commutes pretty easy, but my other half works over by Tower Bridge. When we first moved he would trek down to ED station, but was really dissapointed by the poor frequency of trains. He finds that getting the 12 to Peckham Rye and train to London Bridge works much better for him, he then walks past Ken's place and over the bridge. If he's really lucky (and I'm off!) I'll sometimes drive him over to Honor Oak, and if he's really lucky I'll pick him up from ED, Denmark Hill, or Honor Oak in the evenings.... I'm too nice aren't I?!! -
Has he done a good job on your windows?? We need to get someone to have a look at our's - some broken ropes and bit of draught excluding needed, but we're scared of how much it might cost - still the novelty of a pop star doing it could be worth it!!

croc's are fab!!! I bought a pair down in cornwall and broke my little toe a week later and have practically lived in them since - they've kept me mobile!!

I'm a nurse but bit confused where to put myself on the poll - goverment? hospitality?!!

Grove vale / Dog Kennel hill cordoned off this morning
buggie replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sorry! Helicopter Emergency Medical Service - only they came in a car (they whizzed past me at the bus stop). Their based in whitchapel at the Royal London, but come into Kings sometimes with patients as King's is a trauma centre as well. -
I had a guy knock on the door about 6 wks ago offering me fish freshly caught from South Shields - wondered if he'd got lost on the way to Newcastle!!

I could see the HEMS dr's at the scene when I came by just before 9am - was going down the other way. Think once they've stabilised the patients and whizzed them over the hill the road will open again fairly quickly = there was a recovery lorryh there already. Hope whoever it is is ok - know they'll get best poss care. -
I've seen her several times when she's come and put a christmas tree up where I work and despite getting in the way of our work as she does it have never even heard a "hello" let alone her asking which part of the festive period we're working (nearly all of us work christmas or new year) - in fact christmas just gone the tree nearly vanished an hr later as it was meant to be just for apperances.

Women only sessions at the Dulwich Leisure Centre pool
buggie replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Wouldn't offend me.... maybe it'd give men chance to splash lots and dive bomb into the water like the ones I went to school with use to try and do during our swimming lessons!! -

Thank you for the offer Kathryn - fingers crossed my computer will be back next week so I'll hang on for now. Glad your fingers are recovered! -
The Rye Hotel - Worst Sunday Lunch Ever?
buggie replied to rob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not too keen on the rye's sunday lunches but they do excel at thai curries. Does anyone know if there's a pub locally that does sunday carvarys - my other half loved the one he'd go to up in walthamstow before he saw sense and moved south!! -

:( was hoping to come along to one of these meet ups - after getting a digital camera for christmas have really enjoyed taking more pictures, but I've got a double whammy - broken computer so still got my cornwall holiday pics on my memory card, and - more importantly - i broke a toe yesterday so currently hobbling along... after Kathryn's fingers maybe there's a curse on trying to attend?!! -
Have signed up as feel this is very important, however bit confused with the statement that only 2-3 story buildings would be allowed as there are already buildings taller than this in the area (eg the flats at LL end of Friern Rd). I thought the urban thing would mean buildings taller than 5-6 stories could be built and suburban up to 5-6 stories.
