Owner of The Bishop opens new pub in Herne Hill

The St Germain has indeed closed and reopened as something that looks quite trendy called the Honor Oak (I think). I work right by here quite a lot! Ivemet-Jimmy - I quite agree, the Bishop is a hell hole if you ask me. I certainly do not fit in as I have an inability to talk loudly about myself for 4 hours on the trot! Thank god for the Gowlett! -
Egg based outrage at EDD...now quite scared

Boycotted! -
Worth mentioning at this point, and maybe I am causing paranoia, but didn't that young pregnant lady in Clapahm get shot twice in the head by a neiaghbour over a parking dispute? I'd get the first blow in and make it fatal if I were you. No point in taking risks!

Try keeping a selection of Opera and Classical on your own mobile phone and when a youth blasts rap at you then blast Chopin right back at them! Works every time! (Ratty advises the use of body armour when carrying this out as it invariably ends in you getting stabbed!)

We are lucky enough to have a parking space outside our house, but I am DISGUSTED at the attitude of your neighbour! As I am a common sort I would tell her to shove it up her fat 'arris, but, presuming you do not want to do this, stand your ground and point out, softly, but firmly, that we live in a free country and until the law says otherwise you will park your car where you want! Personally I'd drive mine through the old bags front wall and park it in her sodding living room, get out, flick her the Vs, light a fag and saunter back to my own gaff!

Having just been advised of Southwark Councils Maternity Pay package for my wife, I am surprised they can shell out 30p for something let along ?30 grand! I shall use this as a stick to beat them!

Feel free Mockney! There are a few Portsmouth exiles in the ED area (and yes, we are all obese drug addicts!) so you may get some knowing looks when using the term, but as you point out, it can be used instead of 3 alternative words so it must be good! 13 mins until I am out of here for my particular shant! Rye Tavern Garden me thinks! SHANT ON!
-
There's a nice fella who drinks (shants) in the Gowlett who is a spark. Very good bloke that has done some work for a mate of mine! Ask behind the bar cos I have forgotten his name. I was drunk (shanted) when I met him!
-
Shanter "noun": Generic Portsmouth term for any ale house. I am popping out for a quick shant - I am going to the pub for a beer. I have been on the shant since 9 this morning - I am inebriated due to my desire to drink alcohol from an innapropriate time of the day. I am totally shanted - blow me, I seem to have vomitted all over the cat again!
-
Or is time standing still this afternoon? I am going up the shanter at 4 but the clock seems to be going backwards ffs!
-
I have to say they are always polite to me! Probably cos they know I am a soft touch!
-
I am not 100% sure of it. The first time they came round I sent them off with a flea in their ear. Then my wife told me they were genuine and it was a scheme, so now I always get something off of them! I threw the labels away last night but I might do some digging!

There's a scooter place in Forest Hill just along Stanstead Road.

Grove vale / Dog Kennel hill cordoned off this morning
ratty replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The cozzers were appealing for witnesses and stopped me in me motor whilst I was leaving my house for work this morning! I guess the accident must have been nasty and they were just taping the road off. Imagine asking me though! As if I am gonna bleat to the filth! -
It's a scheme for young ex-offenders and part of their early release package. They come round a bit too much for my liking but what's a tenner ffs. I SAID FFS!

Anyone a saturday 'Drum' regular?
ratty replied to drum_saturdaygirl's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Me and the wife usually pop in for a coffee! Of a Saturday lunchtime / afternoon. Not today as she is in bed with Tonsilitis! :( -
I work with Carr-Gom now and again and they are a reputable association with a good rep. They will do all they can to get rid of the squatters as believe me, they are the last thing any HA want. ( I work for a HA you see) Perhaps phoning the local Carr-Gom manager would be a move - I am sure they will be happy to help and let you know timescales. Aslo SASBU may be able to help (Southwark Anti Social Behaviour Unit). Buring them out is the last option! Don't leave any prints though!

I once robbed Habitat on the Kings Road and got away on a 45a (as it was in those days) so it is possible. It just takes timing! I will be running classes on this upstairs at the EDT on Monday nights. It's non smoking FFS, I SAID FFS!

where do people who live in east dulwich go on holiday?
ratty replied to clare's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We honeymooned in Cuba in 2005 and met a family in the hotel at the bar I hasten to had who were from East Dulwich - Chris and Tina from Barry Road and their daughter and her partner who, if I rememebr rightly, lived in Danby St, SE15. They all got their curries from Surma - it was a big topic of conversation. So Cuba has to be the favoured choice of ED surely! Hasta la revolucion siempre (probably spelt wrong!) -
Easy one this and in NO particular order. Veronica from Shameless - always Sunday morning in Saisburys Jennie Eclair (of course - ECO House and HUGE Petrl driven motor!) Nesbitt - all the time Kate Ford - many years ago - not seen her now for ages Some bird from the office whose name escaopes me Steve Frost obviously (The usual ex-bill, bad girls etc.) By my piece de resistance is David Schwimmer some 12 months ago wandering up LL!

Pffft. Smokers need to reclaim the boozers of this land. And also, it's a PUB ffs why the fook would people want babies and high chairs in there? Luckily, I stopped going to the grove when it changed it's name form the Grove the first time and became a poncey pizzeria. This new change will only drive me further away! Thanking thee kindly!

The "Tube in Camberwell" rumour has been running for more years than I care to mention. Just for the record, it aint going to happen, not never ever.
