  1. Amongst the usual junk inviting me to enlarge my tiny tool, pound my lover senseless and also to ensure that my love muscle is "bigger than world" were a few suspicious looking news bulletins from MSNBC or CNN or similar informing me that A) Britney Spears was found beheaded in Hollywood and B) Sperm Flavored Cocaine is all the rage in LA. (?)
  2. Elwood, have you understood the concept behind this map? It is not a representation of investigated crimes, in fact many crimes are not investigated at all. The map is intended to show burglary, robbery and vehicle crime offences across the capital. It is nothing to do with clear up rates.
  3. Hmmm, I'm trying to enjoy it. The keyboard feels rather nice...but I may have already mentioned that. Can't see no saltwater crocs but then I've not found the button for many functions so I'll just keep plugging away.

  5. Are you suggesting a singles bar, Deptford Diva? Or maybe a singles night?

The staff don't have any passion for anything but a paycheck and there is no sense of interest when you ask for something that might could be deemed slightly off piste.
  7. Don't fret, MW74, BB's job is not quite as sinister as you think. It is all done for the greater good... in fact just like a copper, a debt collector or a PI. ;-) @ BB.

Sorry Local 1, not good enough... I'll respond to the rest of the posts on this thread when I've worked out how to use my Mac properly:-$
  10. The keyboard feels rather nice..I'm not sure how to use the rest of it though. Anybody else switched from PC to Mac and have any useful hints on how to do pretty much everything on it? :X
  11. Local 1, although an interesting claim (do you have a link to back it up), you are in fact referring to clear up rates, which are a very different thing to what is published on the Met site i.e. offences. (I've been trying to edit my post for ages but have been unable to connect to the site)
  12. The MPS are beta testing online crime maps of London to give a visual representation of crime figures by borough, ward and postcode. http://maps.met.police.uk/ Simply enter your postcode in the search bar to find your locality. As you can see, Southwark is a high crime borough compared to the much of the metropolis. On a more micro scale, the ED ward and LL town centre area is above average, whilst much of the surrounding area is average, causing an interesting orange on yellow effect, like some weird crime fried egg. *Edited as my sloppy typing and punctuation gave my post the wrong meaning*.
  13. My other half had her Barclays debit card cloned and ?300 withdrawn in Canada last Friday. She hasn't been in Somerfield for a long time but regularly uses both Barclays and HSBC machines on LL. Make of that what you will.
  14. Try TVFreeload.com It's also worth signing up for a rapidshare account (about ?5 per month, unlimited downloads) otherwise you'll spend all day downloading each part of each episode.
  15. Have to agree with Keef, Don't Look Now has it's moments. It builds a sinister tension throughout until it's unexpected (for me at least) climax. Must also mention Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. It made me feel particularly uneasy all the way through and David Lynch is a master of imagery and tension. It's not horror so much as horrific. *Note to self to dig out TPFWWM from the collection*
  16. Season 5 is moving towards a tense finale, methinks. Without giving anything away, it can be quite uncomfortable viewing at times, knowing that something must give way (edited out of courtesy after Mockney's post, but must stress it was not a spoiler!) I've only got 2 episodes left and then no more wire for me:'( What can possibly fill the void? I guess I'll have to start at season 1 again.
  17. What's 'tomming' then eh, *Bob*? My favourite urban myth is that which concerns Joanna Lumley's excessive use of cocaine in the 1960's. Apparently, her preferred method of consumption was to have the substance poked it up her bottom by her lover. As a result her entire back passage collapsed (think Daniella Westbrook's septum) and she now has a plastic anus. I like to think that there's at least a nugget of truth in there.
  18. MW74, We had mice living in our building. The pest control guy that came to sort them out advised me not to use shop bought bait as most commercially available stuff is useless (You can't beat the spring loaded traps for results - I've caught 3 :-) ) Anyway, the poisons work by temporarily thinning the blood, thus lowering the rodent's body temperature. The little bastards will simply find somewhere warm such as a hot water pipe or in your case a fridge motor, until they warm up again. Perhaps you used some form of super bait that actually works or perhaps the rat got too hot and simply cooked itself to death on the fridge motor.
  19. Nico, If you're thinking about serving cocktails then I say keep it simple. A small menu of classics, prepared with high quality ingredients should do the trick. If a customer does wish to go off-piste, so to speak, then your bar staff should have the knowledge to prepare many other non listed beverages as well.
