  1. Eliz Yes, the photography is great! There is a good sprout recipe on 101cookbooks.com that I keep making over and over. Golden crusted sprouts with cheese. I also tried the Liven yourself up Lentil Soup last night, but added garlic and served with poached egg the first time and then with couscous the second time. It also has a gluten free section for anyone who needs to go that route.
  2. Sue, did you ever try the brownie there?
  3. For veggie inspiration try a website called 101cookbooks.com. The blogger is a food writer who tests recipes and posts them and she is a veggie.
  4. A British Gas engineer once told me that if you say that you have an infant or an elderly person in the house then they have to come more or less immediately. This is when I did have the BG cover. Don't know if it applies to all the other cover providers. As far as I know the others, including Thames Water, subcontract out to 'local' plumbing and heating companies.
  5. Try the Thames Water Cover. I have used them for broken toilets, gushing taps, and boilers. Think it is only ?8.99 a month, a lot cheaper than BG.

Tried one the other day. Heated it up a wee bit, and served it with creme fraiche. Excellent. Was quite mousse like, not too cakey.
  7. First Mate I absolutely agree with your posting. There is still of lot of (dog) shit around and I am always looking down as I walk so as not to tread in it. I have heard of quite a few dog walkers, some professional, who have been fined for not picking up their dog's mess on Peckham Rye. Good!
  8. Tried a sample of her hot chocolate today. Mmmmmmm. She also has new flavours of chocolate to try.
  9. Yes it is cold in there. Went once last week. Even with 3 layers on I was still cold.
  10. Dog poo is dangerous if the dog has worms. The worms can be transferred to humans. Believe that is less possible nowadays as most people worm their dogs. Any doctors out there to confirm?
  11. Yes, I saw some down there last week. They look hideous. And they are moving. Do you think they are legal?
  12. I looked at the menu the other day. Brownie was five pounds! Anyone try that yet? Do they do coffee now?
  13. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What is the name of this shop, which sells these > cakes on a Saturday only? It is called Let Them Eat Cake. They have a sign outside. Right next door to Casa, the reclamation place. Near junction of Maxted and Bellenden.
  14. Cakes are only there on Saturday, near Casa. She also bakes for the cafe round the corner.
  15. You probably wouldn't have noticed anything. You couldn't see the pinhole from a vertical standing position and the bit that was placed on the card slot looked OK on first sight but on second look you could see it was brand new, clean (unlike surrounding area) and sticking out. I would talk to your bank and take their advice. It could be that fraudsters didn't get any info if they couldn't take away the bit on card slot which I believe stores card numbers, not pin numbers. But probably safer to cancel card.
  16. I hope the manager in the Co-op might have some more information. After seeing the camera there, behind the rubbery grey strip above keypad, I went to the HSBC ATM on LL to get some money. The strip above the keypad was completely different. It was hard plastic, bigger and deeper. It looked like it would be more difficult to put a camera behind and drill a hole through. Surely there must be some way to alarm the cash point if someone tampers with it? I always cover the keypad now when I type in my pin. Good tip mentioned on the Forum in a previous post.
  17. I went to use this machine at about 1230 today and minutes earlier a camera had been discovered. There was a pinhole looking down on the keypad. That is what alerted the guy who found it. The slot where the card goes also had something new and clean on it, completely unlike the last time I used it. The police were called and the manager of the Co-Op knows about it. Don't know what happened after that. Wonder if the info was transmitted somehow to the fraudsters or if they have to come back to retrieve it. Just wanted to let people know in case they have used it recently.
  18. I like their rosemary bread, but that is the only one. I tried a baguette and was surprised to find it was quite sweet. It also had weird little black seeds sprinkled about inside. The texture was quite mealy. I took it back to the shop to query it and was told that it was normal by a member of staff. I really like the Bakery at first, but find their muffins are very hit or miss. Sometimes burnt and dry, other times not. I also bought a very nice piece of tortilla one day and then went back a week later for another. This time was completely different - quite revolting, burnt and dry. I have informed them in writing, but never heard anything back. Not great customer relations.
  19. Thanks Moos. I have just emailed them asking for more info.
  20. I am so sad about what has happened to this place. I love Dr. J. but he looks so low. I have had two recent problems with the surgery, and wanted to ask if anyone has any opinion or experience to share of the locums or practice nurses? I won't go into details here but would be grateful for any feedback. Is it true that Dr. J. is the only permanent doctor there? Point me in the direction of where to write to complain. Also, is anyone on here registered with Sternhall Lane surgery? Any opinions? Thanks.
  21. I heard that the ED police station has now closed down........is this true?
  22. I have an iBook and prefer it to my former PC. Wouldn't say that I am a whizz with it, but it feels better and like Marmora Mana, haven't had any crashes or viruses. I am glad to hear they are opening up a new Apple store in Covent Garden. Mine is about 4 years old and I want to update it. And just think, you aren't helping Bill Gates get any richer!

  24. She needs to go into the East Dulwich branch (if that is where her account is) and demand to see someone. Do they still have managers? Be polite at first but if they fob her off then she should make a fuss in front of other customers. She also needs to make a note of her conversations with people and write down their names etc.

They sound frighteningly useless. Sounds like your daughter needs to change her bank as soon as she gets her money back!!!! I would let the Banking Ombudsman know about this.
