  1. Come on down to our fair 12-3 on Saturday 7th July. The usual fun of face painting, bouncy castle, tombola, raffle with great prizes, games, food, plant stall and so much more! We also have a lovely nature garden for you to explore! See attached poster. We're behind the big Sainsburys, Bessemer Grange Primary School, Dylways, London, SE5 8HP
  2. 10 years last month! Only 461 posts though. Love EDF for buying and selling, general gossip, finding out about issues and meeting future mums when I was preggo. Long live the EDF, just hopefully less confrontational like the last year or 2.
  3. Avoid the area. Dog unit just arrived so who knows what happened. Traffic being diverted up road opp The Bishop. Chaos leading to GG roundabout big queues. Police tape seems to be taping off the block where the co-op is so from junction with Living and Giving shop. Can't see where other side is blocked.
  4. Per DulwichFox ours sometimes goes for no reason (and sometimes at night) we have to unplug and re plug in and hope frequency reset. Will eventually get around to replacing!
  5. Check out Glisten Camping. We flew to Biarritz and hired a car. You stay in a dome with (covered) outdoor kitchen. 3 pools, on site restaurant and good playground. Near St Jean de Luz and we also spent 2 nights in San Sebastian just over border in Spain which isn't far at all. Kids loved the dome. Might depend on kids ages as 2 of the beds are cool "hanging" beds suspended from ceiling!
  6. Deptford does have set times. See attached. We love it just wish was nearer. ?2.75 to get in is great just have to pay and display too if driving.
  7. I hope they respond. In general it always feels like more clothes in general for girls than boys there. Your picture really illustrates this! I'm sure one response will be that girls can wear skirts, trousers or dresses and boys just trousers (and shorts in summer) but your pic shows much more imbalance!
  8. Definitely get your thyroid checked as said above. Hope things improve.
  9. We have an Oyster Max. Kids were 22 months apart. Pretty happy with it, over time (nearly 3 years) have had to replace both front wheels (?19 each) and it seems to be a known issue. My main thing was it had to fit on the bus so I didn't want side-by-side, and to have the baby facing parent (it also goes the other way). They are pricey, so unless you could get second hand it's probably out. The best looking cheaper one I have seen which is very similar in looks to Oyster is the Hauck one. Mixed reviews online so take a look - main one seems to be toddler seat has a ridge at the top of seat so when they get taller it's not comfortable - could always put a cushion or padding there I guess. Not sure if it folds flat. For travelling we went with 2 small individual buggies. Early days the sling was great for the plane too for youngest. Is it worth getting a cheap double to leave at your family's house? Then taking a single and a sling for the journey? I can't think of any doubles I know of that fold with both seats attached from when I did my research but that was nearly 3 years ago.
  10. I developed a bit of eczema as a kid after having my ears pierced (triggers a nickel allergy in some people) so got a rash on tummy from jeans button and wrist from watch. It all eased off (and I prevented contact with metal) and I had years clear. Then as an adult (28 ish) I suddenly pretty much got eczema or a rash all over my body except my face. I still don't know what caused or cleared it - but I tried a chiropractor (clutching at straws as this stage but at a health fair at work they had a picture of the spine and what all the nerves going into it were connected to and one in the neck was skin and I had put my neck out a while before so thought worth a try!) Also saw dermatologists and got topical steroids and finally got "Apis Mellifera" bee cream (https://www.healthchemist.co.nz/product/apis-mellifera-skin-cream-45g-p273961.html). Something fixed it - will never know what but you might want to try either/both. Now for the last 8 years I've been suffering on my right hand as the "memory site" of the eczema from my watch irriation as a teenager has now spread up my whole palm. With 2 young kids I have to wash my hands a lot so it means the hand also isn't moisturised enough. I have tried pretty much everything topical and have reached such a frustration point I'm trying something hardcore. I have also seen and liked Dr Morris-Jones and she's hopefully about to help me with some very strong tablets that just treat hand eczema. I have seen 4 different dermatologists now - think it's good to get different views. Good luck I hope it clears as I know how you feel!
  11. We all know it's been rubbish since opening but today was potentially dangerous (queue in road) and frustrating (missed train) How can a station with 4 platforms have 2 entrance gates and 1 exit?! Queues far away on pavement and some in road. Queue to get out extended to the platform on platform 2! I'm sure I'm not the only one who missed their train. It was worse today as trains through ED station all cancelled but still the logistics and design of this station are crazy. Anyone know best route of (I'm sure pointless but gonna register it) complaint? (And not Twitter) Thanks!
  12. 2nd for Caddy Liners Direct. I did a lot of shopping around. Best value.
  13. Looked at this thread for inspiration and now finally 4 months on I can say yes we have an Awesome Kitchen! It's "Pronorm" from Germany (built there, shipped over) so fits quickly (tho our delivery was 2 weeks late). Bought from and designed with Alaris kitchens in Bromley who both listened to my ideas and offered suggestions. They also fit it. Builders were Martins. Very happy with the quality. Extension already there but they made great improvements. Very happy. Best bits.... - either side of oven is a pantry cupboard. I love them! - nearly all drawers and actually wish now the cupboards either side of hob were too tho we have found stuff that fits in ok. - built in bin cupboard next to sink. Cannot live without. - porcelain wood effect tiles inside and out and underfloor heating.
  14. Sorry to hear this and glad you were not seriously harmed. Worrying to hear as I'll be using that regularly soon on school drop offs, not something you want to hear about and 6pm is not late or dark either. It's really a prime spot if you think about it as it's like a dead end then an overgrown pathway. I have messaged James Barber in case anything can be done re CCTV or something to improve security.
  15. I've had him approach me twice too, leg always looks messed up and a fair bit of blood so don't really want to think about what he does to it!! It felt off the first time and the 2nd compounded first instincts!
  16. Hi, could try this one 020 8299 0240 Next to Herne Tavern by P Rye Park near junction with St Aidens Rd. It's a pokey office but the 2 ladies I've seen are nice and one great with my 2.5 year old. About to go back with her and her little brother.
  17. We've battles too. She's 4 end July. Routine (with baby brother) is Night Garden/story/nighttime song (so they know it's bedtime) if there is a bath its earlier. PJs, teeth, brother goes straight down and she has stories and then it starts either wants to sleep in loft (where we are at mo so just carry her down asleep later) or shouts for water/stories/stay with me/need a poo, it goes on. Says not tired. So we're saying you can play for a little then go to bed just stay in room (mixed success) When it gets bad and we know we're going to end up wound up and shouting usually do silent return which does get results after 5-12 times! Just go up, pick up (from her spot shouting on landing) and put in bed and walk out. Repeat. Do not speak. Like someone else said it means you don't give attention. Dreading when her brother is out of a cot and no longer captive!! Her shouting has started triggering him a bit last few weeks too ;( We talk about "last night was a bad bedtime can we have a good one tonight" with occasional bribes. And she doesn't like disappointing so try to point that out. Can't do this at the time (especially can't say "no treats tomorrow" as that will just exacerbate an already bad situation) Hoping it'll stop soon...! Good luck
  18. If you look up the BabyCentre (UK) names lists for the last few years you can get a feel. Our daughters name was #54 out if 100 and we haven't met another yet but our sons name was 16th for last few years and we meet loads out and about!
  19. Thanks for the email, have reported the 2 outside The Vale pub
  20. Hi, Hoping I'm not the only one wanting more details on meetings at Bessemer for Sept 17 Reception intake? I've not heard back from emailing and guessing no one around this week. Can anyone help with these questions? - welcome meeting Weds 7th June. We have 9.15am start time but what about finish time? Have to work out how can fit it into my working day - summer picnic, we have a date but no time - again need to plan round work and also taking daughter out of nursery to attend. - Enrolment is on 3 dates in July and we're away for 2 of them. Again don't know timings and how do we ask if we can be put on the only date we are here? Thanks!
  21. Google isn't coming up with much and I wanted to contact someone responsible for the station regarding the large cracks in the walkway up to platform 2 (with the building works next door, worried it could give way at some point?) and also the large nettles and brambles growing by day on both platform walkways that soon will be taking over and people will get injured (and worried about the nettles and brambles being at small child head-height). Anyone know of any contact details? I know years ago the manager had a thread on here but it's no longer used. Thanks
  22. There was another thread on this just recently so maybe do a search (or click on my posts as I commented on it) Try doing it yourself and send off to paspic who check it's ok, print and send to you. You can lie them on a muslin on the floor and snap away til You get a good one. Some kids really kick off in the shop trying to do it. Good luck
  23. Used passpic twice as recommended above. Easy to do and don't have to leave home! Some kids get upset having it done in shops, my mates did so they had to give up. Good luck!
