  1. OK, well if it was a virus it seems odd that's its targeted your webcam...! Personally I'd go onto the computer manufacturers' website and download the current driver software for the camera and re-install (should be a case of sticking the model name/number in and away you go). If your computer isn't demonstrating any other strange behaviour it could just be that the Webcam driver has got corrupted. I could always take a look at it for a very reasonable fee if you get totally stuck...(07941) 404852. Good luck! James.
  2. I've installed a few of these systems and I always make it clear that you will only expect to achieve roughly about 25% of your notmal network speed over standard single-phase mains cable. Many systems are advertised as achieving 85Mbps, but to get anywhere near that you'd probably have to get your house rewired! (many of the old victorian houses in ED are not known for their wiring). Personally I'd go for a decent N-grade router and secure it right down with MAC addresses/high strength WPA2 encryption...much faster!
  3. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I've dealt with a lot of broadband installations in my time and the Virgin customer support is nothing short of woeful!
  4. I take it you're using the latest version of Media Player? Outside chance but may need updated codecs...??
  5. Madge?? Sounds like someones been watching a bit too much Neighbours circa 1989...
  6. The Dave Clarke acoustic remix of 'Dream On' by Depeche Mode is worth a listen if you havent already...
  7. The worst offenders of modern times BY A COUNTRY MILE are Scouting For Girls. Apparantly repeating the line 'She's So Lovely' (have I been transported back to the 1950's??) about 500 times constitutes a song...!?!
  8. You need to be able to carry it off. Burt Reynolds, Terry Thomas and Tom Selleck spring to mind as masters of the black art. However, Ian Rush, Borat and that bloke from Color Me Badd...don't.
  9. I get there at about 7:45 and dont have a problem.
  10. It depends where the data is stored. My guess is it would be on the memory card underneath the battery. You just need to find a card reader to read one of those Mini-SD things.
  11. Anyone as long as its not Graham Norton
  12. So we'll expect the licence fee to go down, then? Never did like the bloke personally! Jonathan Ross to leave BBC
  13. Driving around Goodrich/Landells Road - this crossroad is a bit of a nightmare! Sheet ice with a slight gradient and absolutely no grip. I was out last night pushing people who had got stuck and were skidding into parked cars. Avoid if you can!
  14. I think the meaning of word 'celebrity' has changed partly due to shows like this. Does anyone remember when Jack Dee won the first series? He's actually known for being funny. Dane Bowers/Alex Reid are two of many noted for relations with Jordan, and Katia Ivanova is more of the same, and even more of a nobody...! It seems its not what you know, but...
  15. My dad had an Allegro Vanden Plas with the bizarre 'Quartic' steering wheel for a while...was always overheating and breaking down! Was exactly the same colour as what you'd expect to see in a chemical toilet at Glastonbury.
  16. Are you sure you're not a little bitter that you're not coming home on one of those buses at 3am??
  17. Join the queue mate...behind about half a million other Londoners, including myself. You could always get a taxi??
  18. Dulwich Food and Wine all the way... Large Doner and Chips = ?6.50 'Pint'* of Fosters out the back = ?4 Bit of gyrating around to obscure melodies = FREE Finding out what sort of girl she REALLY is = PRICELESS *One and a half cans
  19. Open My Computer, click Tools, Folder Options. Go to View tab and uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' checkbox. Then you should be able to use Windows Search by typing '*.' then the file extension name (ie. PDF). It will then list all files with that extension in selected location.
  20. I take mine to the recycling bank at Sainsbury's
