  1. What can the council do to make things easier during COVID-19? I'm sure it's been said already... Council Tax HOLIDAY.
  2. Hi, this is not exactly what you're asking - however I've had this in the past, and the tyre shop was able to jam a socket on with their air-gun and get them off. Then replace with a new set, or normal wheel nuts.
  3. Very interesting ex-dulwicher - it had been explained to me that the 5mph limit is a vehicle limit within the park. Happy to be corrected.
  4. And the 5mph also applies to bicycles travelling around the park...few people if any stick to that.
  5. I popped in sunday night for a quick pint. Nice beer, nice place I thought. Good luck to them. Was disappointed to miss the hot-dogs but hey ho!
  6. I can't really imagine parking ever getting a grace period...the signs have all quite clearly stated charging starts 24th Feb.
  7. Had a reply from councillor that they had received numerous complaints and would be looking into it. Anyone had any feedback regarding the inspection on the 20th? One thing i have noticed, is that they seem far less bright on stormy windy rainy nights (obviously) - given this has been almost every night for the last weeks, I really hope they inspect on a calm clear evening.
  8. I have never moaned about the old streetlights, not about personal safety. I appreciate the efforts to reduce energy usage, however I like a previous turn of phrase - "our right to night". LED's are neither warm nor inviting. We simply do not need our streets bathed in light the entire night.
  9. LEDphobic, how did you complain? I have emailed local councillors but have had nothing back from them.
  10. Completely agree
  11. Thanks, yeap blackout blinds work, but I kind of like sleeping with the window open and waking with the dawn...however it's now permanent dawn!
  12. Could someone advise how I find my local councillors contact details to request this please? DONE I'd encourage anyone affected to email their local councillors as James suggests above.
  13. Apparently this is the way forward as "everyone" wants cars off the road.
  14. I did start a thread about Underhill Road. Far too bright. At night-time, I'd quite like it to feel like night-time!
  15. Phase 3 starts tomorrow: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/roadworks-and-highway-improvements/street-improvements/our-healthy-streets-dulwich
  16. Replacing with a double glazed timber window, with acoustic glass - yes, crazy expensive, but shop around and you'll get better quotes. PM if you'd like a recommendation. It makes a huge difference to noise and heat.
  17. Crystal palace run adult training sessions...listed as lessons but the advanced is just run as a training group.
  18. No, a serious question. I'm aware this seems to be important for some, but it's not for me and not for my circle of friends and colleagues. I view the problem of emissions as serious, but otherwise I view cars as valuable and I have no plans to live a carless life anytime soon.
  19. It's not as expensive nor time consuming as you might think to have the floorboards lifted, the void insulated and then the floorboards refitted.
  20. Why do we want to get people out of cars? Cars are useful tools, and the problems of emissions and pollution are being tackled.
  21. Over the last days, the streetlamps around mine have been replaced for LED lamps. Great in terms of reduced energy usage...however... FAR TOO BRIGHT in my opinion, and the lovely yellow glow of the old ones replaced with harsher white-ish light. Anyone else feel the same? It's just upped the light pollution considerably. I wonder if any chance they could be toned/turned down?
  22. Charging applies at all times? Gosh.
  23. Another solution (and this is not meant to be facetious) is to buy out the freehold - then it will be clear it will be your responsibility and you can fix it as you see fit. Possibly more expensive in the short term, but likely much less stress in the long term...
  24. 1. Honeywell have always served me well. 2. Possible... 3. Plumber/gas engineer
