  1. And Overhill Road as well. With the cold weather there is potential for dangerous ice.
  2. Same, Underhill, Horniman end. Looked at TW website, no incident on the map, tried to call - message says too many calls and hung up.
  3. I've been using Garry Johnson for the last couple years. I recommend 07882642799.
  4. Thanks for the feedback on the locks coletrickle. Amazed they cut the brake disc - I've never heard that before! Out of interest, have been googling security chains and thief attacks, and have come across a testing website for motorcycle security. Even a super solid chunky 22mm chain from squire or pragmasis is being cut through with an angle grinder in less that 30 seconds. The best they've tested was done in 47 seconds (in ideal conditions - easy access, chain rigid in a vice etc). The thinner chains are gone in 10 seconds. That's pretty quick - especially if the thieves have scoped it out earlier - in an out (with a lot of noise) easily in 30 seconds...
  5. I'm really sorry to hear. For info, on Monday eve (circa 9.30pm) I scared off (used a bit laughably as they were not in the least bit scared, when they saw me looking out the window at them and shining a torch down they stared back and slowly sauntered off) 2 youths on foot and one on a black scooter loitering next to my locked up bike. Number plate was obscured so i couldn't get the number. I suspect they look around during the evening for a target and examine the security and then come back in the early hours. Can I ask what chains/locks they managed to cut through?
  6. I just wanted to add another recommendation for Oskar and his team - I took his details from the forum, and last week they did a mass of clearance of my backyard (two skips worth of concrete and rubble), took down old cement and wire fencing, took down some dead trees, and built about 20m of new fencing. Fence looks amazing, really well done. Oskar is easy to deal with and it was all done on schedule through a cold, very dreary week! Unreservedly recommend.
  7. I go to London Wall - when I catch public transport I take train from Denmark Hill to City Thameslink and walk. For Moorgate the walk would be about 10 mins from CT. I find it much better than trying to navigate London bridge and then the tube.
  8. It is, DulwichFox, luckily, possible to refill a bottle that is not a single use bottle. Phew. Contamination avoided.
  9. Or perhaps they are trying to balance out that trip to Disneyland by making the effort in daily life...
  10. I know very little about them...but there are a couple of BMW i3's parked on my road that seem to be in daily use with no access to charging points where they are parked.

Hello - to clarify my earlier post about hours, it is basically the 7am-7pm hours that are frustrating if you work in town and have a young family. You are correct - during these hours it's great. However a 7am opening means I cannot swim before work and get to work on time, and the erratic evening closing hours (930pm Monday, 730pm Tuesday, 930pm Wednesday, 830pm Thursday, 7pm Friday, 5pm saturday and 3pm Sunday) means it is very hard to get there after work on a regular basis (Mon and Wed are fine for me but the others are too early). I have asked them many times to open earlier (Crystal palace Triathletes have the pool available some morning from 6am and the gym opens at 6am), and to make lanes available on club nights (Tues). For comparison, the Olympic Park pool, also run by Better, is open 6am to 1030pm 7 days per week.
  12. I just tried to get a non urgent appointment - none available for the next two weeks. Cannot book further than 2 weeks. Only way to get one is "to keep calling each day or during the day as the computer periodically releases new appointments". Palaver.
  13. Crystal palace pool. 50m. Toys allowed. Opening hours for public swim suck though.
  14. I have used the kwik fit mobile service - the guy was quick, neat, clean, knew his stuff. Thoroughly recommend.
  15. Hello, I have a section of ceiling that I have repaired with new plasterboard - I would like to find someone to plaster/skim over to match the rest of the ceiling level. Anyone keen? Many thanks
  16. Maaaaasive water leak on Lordship lane near court lane.
  17. haha, yes that's kind of what I'm getting at...I can't imagine too many people give their real name, or don't just walk off and ignore the council warden - they are not allowed to restrain you. if police are keeping them company to enforce it, then it is (IMHO) a waste of police resources.

I guess that it's much more pleasant for the police to come to charge a litter bug than a serious crime. And for arguments sake - would the theoretical litterbug wait around for the police to come? I find it all a bit ridiculous.
  19. From a different perspective, I drove past at about 8.30 this morning, and I felt from a drivers point of view it was an accident waiting to happen. People spilling onto the road, people walking around people on the road not looking at traffic etc.
  20. So let's say you drop something and someone tries to give you a fine - why would you give them your details and not just walk off?
  21. Amazon firestick works very well for catchup TV etc.
  22. I love watching the process of these threads diverging and people arguing about something that is extremely unlikely to ever happen. Brilliant.
