I'm a regular user of Jags sports club but I'm beginning to think it's slipping. They use a card swipe system but I think because of this non members are bunking in. Whenever I go in the receptionists don't even look up from the screen. I've noticed the gym is full of teenagers who I'm sure can't all be members. Also, the entrance gates for are permanently open, and as a result the small car park is always full. I think many of the cars are owned by non members who are either using the all weather pitch or whose kids are at a swimming gala. I'm thinking of knocking it on the head before it totally goes to pot.

I'm a boxing fan. The clips I was watching were boxing clips, especially those involving a black v white fighter. -

If you want to see 'racist' have a look at the postinsg put up on youtube under certain clips. I'm always appalled by how strong they are. I reckon they're mostly posted by Americans. Is that racist of me? Anyway, I guess the point I'm making is there's not much, if any, racism on this forum. -
Inappropriate place to chat a girl up.
jimmy two times replied to jimmy two times's topic in The Lounge
Guess I could just throw myself in the deep end and float a few of those chat up lines past her. -
I went swimming the other day and caught a female fellow swimmer giving me the eye. I checked to make sure nothing was hanging out or that there were no other reasons for her attention, but all was tucked in. I caught her glancing a few more times, but in the end I swam my lengths, got out and went home. I would have taken the opportunity to chat her up but a swimming pool felt like the wrong place to do this. Maybe the 'no petting' warning on the swimming pool walls of my youth have left their mark, though I guess I could be getting a little ahead of myself on that.

A great bit of advice I saw in a film was in 'The Bronx tale'. The gangster tells the kid who he has taken under his wing that if he wants to know if a girl is worth seeing again he should open the car door for her and then walk around the car to the driver's door. If she reaches over and opens it for him then she's worth it. If she doesn't then it shows she's selfish and only thinks of herself. -
Mine was 'treat em mean keep em keen.'

She was a vulnerable female in what sounds like a very male environment. Maybe you should have tried to get her home safely.

Just to get back to Obama's speech, it does seem like I'm the only one that feels it's been totally overinflated into some kind of iconic speech in the mould of Martin Luther King or even Winston Churchill. In actual fact it's really just a load of waffle that he delivers particularly well. He makes references to grasping challenges and dealing with tough times ahead but I could have gotten up and said that.I think he could have gotten up and read his shopping list and it would have sounded inspirational. Put him in the Spurs dressing room and see if he could motivate that bunch of losers. They're a bunch of audacity of no hopers.

I hate to go against the flow, but I have just listened to his speech, and whilst it sounded very inspirational and aspirational, what was he really saying? He's a great orator but he sounds like he has been watching to many Martin Luther King Jr speeches.

I've got a flak jacket on as well as I know how incendiary those comments are. I've got kids, though they're a bit older now, so I understand the lure of a pub where you can have a pint with the kids in tow. However, my kids were always well behaved and I never let them run amok and be annoying.

I have always loved the Crown and Greyhound though I think some of the comments on the bar staff are a bit harsh. I think the problem is that there seems to be a large turnover of staff so there always seems to be someone new at the bar. I guess it's not their fault if it takes them a little time to learn the ropes. There is one very attractive lady who works there who is very polite and has a lovely attitude. She is much older then the rest of the bar staff so I'm not sure if she is the manageress? My main problem with this pub is kids running around in there. That is always guaranteed to give me the hump...not with the kids themselves but with the stupid parents who let them do it.

Yes another bus related story on the forum in the last week or so. Typical, you wait ages for a bus story to come and then 3 come along at once.

I've found this menu difficult to work out as well and I reckon they may have to revise it in the midst of the current economic crisis as many people will be looking to tighten their belts. Having said that the food is pretty good, though the tea is a bit weak. I suppose it's difficult to expect any cafe to be perfect.

If you do ever have to deal out retribution Tony just make sure that there are no CCTV cameras about when you do it. -

Actually I bet the emergency services get fed up rescuing people who get themselves into trouble because of their own stupidity. -

I witnessed some horrendously sexist behaviour a few years ago by a bus driver on the number 11 which goes to the cemetery gates. He was constantly touching up the female conductor and making lewd comments. As soon as I got off the bus I made a complaint to his Inspector. I think he must have got a rollicking because as I was leaving I heard the inspector shouting at him 'I'll have you Butler!' -

At what point is someone classified as 'vulnerable'? Is the mugger on the street 'Vulnerable' because somewhere down the line he was traumatized? I'm not sure if these people were vulnerable or not and I don't know what process was used to decide if they were, but they clearly appeared to make their neighbours lives a misery. I have sympathy for anyone who has been dealt a crap hand in life, but I still think most people ,on some level, know the difference between right and wrong in spite of how their lives have panned out. These people may have had problems but in what part of their minds did they consider harrassing and intimidating neighbours whilst drunk acceptable? This is why I think they don't deserve help. It sounds to me that the real vulnerable people in this situation were their neighbours.
