May I ask what dealings have you had with the Police for you to have formed the opinion of them as 'fascist corrupt scum' ?

I don't think the Police should be able to assault members of the public full stop. However, if said member of the public becomes extremely violent, possibly high on drugs, has already badly assaulted a policeman and is resisting arrest and posing a significant threat then the Police have the power to use force to subdue and arrest this individual, whatever shape this force may take. This person has then crossed the line between being a 'member of the public' and has become a violent offender. I'd imagine any show of force by the Police to the ordinary bystander can look shocking. But it's necessary.

I think the Police were trying to arrest him, and he was resisting arrest. Therefore they took measures to ensure he was subdued whilst they carried out their duties. I think experienced coppers will generally know the difference between someone with mental health problems and someone who's drunk. I bet the Police are seriously provoked time and again by people they try to nick and by and large they don't bite.

He had already committed GBH on another copper and he wasn't incapacitated. He was kicking out and struggling despite being told to stop. A thug gets his comeuppance. I don't call the Police bullys for dishing it out. In the same way I wouldn't call someone a who thumped a bully a bully for doing it. I was always told to stand up to bullys. I did. By your logic that makes me a bully too.

I'm not intolerant of the opinions of others, which is a big part of being self righteous. Everyone's entitled to them. I like this discussion forum but I'm often saddened by how personal people can get if they disagree with something. It can border on plain nasty at times. In one of the other threads I was called an 'idiot' by a very charming lady. She may be right, but it still wasn't very nice. I do wish people wouldn't say things in their postings that they wouldn't dream of saying to an individual's face.

What's all the fuss about? Thug assaults copper who has to be treated in hospital. He is either p**ed out of his head or high as a kite and won't calm down. Coppers taser him and give him a few digs to restrain him. He is subsequently arrested and charged with GBH. Job done in my opinion.;-)

One querey I have with your advice Woof is wouldn't the Police be able to dispose of any vehicle that is not displaying a tax disc?

I'm not sure how high they are. I would suspect a factor would be the fact that lots of very young children use the pool, so the chlorine may be high because of this. I wear goggles at all times so not really a problem.

I have my gripes with Jags but the pool is very good. The changing rooms and showers are satisfactory. Adult lanes is between 8pm and 9.30pm, so not that long really. You can also go first thing in the morning. I don't think the lifeguards enforce the lane rules. Quite often you will get very slow swimmers poodling along in the fast lane. In summary though it's all pretty good and the only reason I retain my Jags membership.

Daizie I think you have got the wrong end of the stick. I'm sure the families jeering in court were related to the Ben Kinsella. I think the families of the convicted scumbags actually kept well away on Police advice.

I reckon they'd be queuing up to be quite honest. Anyway, I have made my position clear. It is as follows: 1.Death penalty for Sadistic murderers who are done bang to rights 2. Chemical castration for Paedophiles 3. Torture to extract valuable information from terrorists 4. Corporal punishment and /or torture for hardcore drug dealers 5. All the above for Arsenal fans and cyclists who mount pavements.

And Santerme I'm not ignoring the very good points you make. You present a very good case and seem very knowledgable, but I still truly believe many insurgents are being tortured to extract information.
