  1. Dulwich Sports Club's do on Saturday is open to all and starts from 7pm. I think they're charging about a fiver for it. They also have a good selection of beer (at good prices too!) and will have some sort of sausage sizzle/BBQ going as well. :)-D It's here: View Larger Map
  2. Thanks to all for their support. We received 1216 signatures in the end. A very good response.
  3. Upstairs at EDT is a fabulous location, a fabulous venue and has pretty good food for the price. I've always found the floor staff to be friendly and helpful. The only area it's fallen over in the 3 or so years I've been going there is the speed of service from the kitchen. Time and time again I've left the restaurant thinking "sorry but that wait time was ridiculous, I'm not going back there." However the rest of the place is good enough to have kept me hanging on and going back on the odd occasion, just to see if it's improved. The last time was not so bad so I'm still hanging in there and popping in on the odd occasion. All in all upstairs at EDT is a great place, but not great enough to keep me as a frequent visitor, rather an occasional one. I reserve the frequent visits for the likes of Thai Corner, Hisar and Franklins as they all have something special to offer and I never leave with any negative thoughts about the place in my head.
  4. PS - I'll be submitting the petition to Network Rail at 12pm.
  5. Last chance to sign today: Online petition - Keep the South London Line link at Denmark Hill
  6. There was a guy on Northcross Road on Saturday with a petition for this. He had a table set up outside the Chemist there. Nice bloke and explained himself well. Maybe it was him? Maybe he's just got the wrong end of the stick as well and it wasting all of this campaigning time on something that was never going to happen.
  7. This just in (my mail slot): "News from Tessa Jowel - update on Proposed new pharmacy at the Dulwich Medical Centre Crystal Palace Road" It's seems that all of the rambling and whining that's been going on in this post for the past few weeks has been a FARCE! According to Tessa and the PCT - there is no plan for a needle exchange at the new DMC and there never was. She does quote that the reason for the confusion in the first place is because of the lack of a decent consultation period in the first place, however - if it really is true that this post was just created out of Chinese Whispers - then I think this is just a great laugh! It really is true that you can't believe everything you read. BARA you might have to have a chat to your sources!

Is this your attempt to downgrade ED to make Cambersmell look better? Or is it just a wind up? I'm going to take it as the latter...

  12. The biggest factor for me is losing a link to the west end. Even more importantly it's a major station for accessing the hospital used by many in South London. What's the point in putting in wheelchair access if the strategy is to have the station used by less people by removing services!? 14. eerrrr, don't forget the Magdala - it's got a huge screen at one end and another plasma at the other. Big space and lots of seats.
  15. Full credit here must go to Cllr Fiona Colley for leading this campaign, however I couldn't see an online petition on her blog so I've created one myself for all to sign. I'll send all details to Fiona and Network Rail on 26 October. Click here to sign the petition! Closing date for comments: 26 October 2007 Regards EDKiwi PS - Admin any chance of 'promoting' the post for a few days so we get maximum visibility? Thanks.
  16. LOL, classic! In one swift blow the idiot at OS has tarnished their own name and given Foxton's some free publicity. I'm not saying I want Foxton's to wipe out the smaller operators, however if OS are going to attempt cheeky tricks and leverage the EDF user base to promote themselves then they should bloody well pay for it, just like Daisylets has.
  17. There could be even more Mark if you count all those techies that that block your visitor information scripts (i.e. google-analytics) from phoning home! Congrats on your 1064 + ??? visitors. Regards EDKiwi PS - Go the AB's against France this weekend and go the Poms against Australia too!
  18. I for one agree with ednerd's comments. The reason you can buy clothes cheaply at Primark is not because they sell everything at a loss, it's because they are poor quality clothes made in a sweat shop in Thailand (or the like) by someone being paid less in a year than even those earning ?18k/pa in the UK get paid in a DAY. By shopping at these places you are just being ignorant ("better them than me!"). At esph I would say any one of their customers will expect high quality service and expertise. At Fusion I don't think many do. I would rather deal with a grad student being guided by Elizabeth and Max than a "fitness expert" at Fusion any day. I'm not necessarily saying that esph will be paying their staff top dollar (they are mostly grad students after all) but the level of expertise in that place appears as if it will be very high. They wouldn't have survived in posh Harley St for all those years if they couldn't justify their prices. The moral of the story is: You get what you pay for. If you can't afford it then stay at Fusion, or run around the park (free!). If you can afford it; then before you make up you mind about whether it's too expensive and a rip off, join up and see for yourself. There may actually turn out to be a genuine reason for paying all that extra dosh. I'm going to as I'd prefer to know first hand. If it's not worth it you'll all be sure to hear my opinion on here in a few months. From experience, the only gym I've ever belonged to that gave me really good results was one that cost a fortune. Why? Because I finally had the motivation to actually go (I'm not just going to throw all that bloody money down the toilet am I). Oh and S30 it's a pretty low blow to affiliate someone with the gym just because they speak about it in a positive light. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, including ednerd and you. I like East Dulwich Deli - does that mean I'm on the take?
  19. Just go to Somerfield's, buy a pack of gum and get ?50 cashback.
  20. Max - most important question: Will their be a spa/sauna/steam room!?
