oh yeah. Nearly forgot. People who insist of asking barstaff "Can I get..." instead of the proper Cnglish "Please can I have..." should not be served and should be banned from the pub until they can speak proper English like I does. Apologies if either of the two examples have been covered.

Grown man replied to me on Twitter with "soz" instead of 'sorry'. Nearly blocked him.

I didn't think they were allowed to sound their chimes after a certain time of the evening. I have 8pm in my head. Or is that a myth?

Last night. Playing the 'Match of the Day' theme music. I heard it but couldn't see it. Fancied an icecream about then as well. Mind you, was in Peckham, Bellenden Road. Might not have dared venture into East Dulwich.

Stop this. Please stop. Only the very worst kind of interloper would rename Peckham " The Peck" That is worse than renaming part of the Bellenden ward, "The French Quarter". Please let us put an end to the madness. -

My Everton supporting mate told me he hated growing up in Liverpool as there were constant street parties being held in honour of Liverpool winning stuff. Early 70s. -

Yes! Can't tease us with a little intriging detail then hold back the rest. And 'dumpgate' certainly does need revisting. -

I'm old enough to remember when there were signs in pub windows that said "No Travellers" and even "No gypsies" before that term became non-pc. I can't say I imagine seeing a sign "No Yummy Mummies" appearing in pub and cafe windows anytime soon. Btw, I hate seeing young children in pubs. Always have done and is my own personal belief that it isn't an appropiate place for them. But let not get all nazi on people that use facilities made available to them by the owners/managers of the establishment. Times change. -

I didn't come back to this forum for months after dumpgate because quite frankly it was a dull place once the moderator pulled the plug on that thread. I wonder if that chap ever managed to clear his name or if he still stands guilty as charged. -

My family moved from Dulwich to Bellenden Road in 1970. I inherited my parental home recently. So over the years I have seen the changes to the area and know who the interlopers are. Like the indigenous population before them, some of the interlopers are arseholes and some of them are very nice people indeed. No one group has the monopoly on being idiotic or being great neighbours. It is just some people find it difficult to get on with their neighbours or lack the social skills, personality or temperment to do so. This isn't anything to do with how long someone has lived in an area it is do with people living in close proximity of each other. -
Unbelieveable. Agree it is hard to imagine anyone wanting to pay that kind of green to locate there.

Forgot to mention I also went to see 'Mr Burns' at the Almeida. Wasn't too keen on the third act but was still a thought provoking piece of theatre. http://www.almeida.co.uk/event/mrburns

Last month I went to see Alan Ayckbourn's 'A Small Family Business' and was very lucky to get to a dress rehearsal of 'Great Britain' starring Robert Glenister and (don't laugh) Billie Piper and I have to say the latter former pop star was surprisingly good. As were most of the cast to be fair.

Totally agree, Alan. I think many of us supporters lose our sense of perspective about footballing matters. Me included.

We'll never know for sure but I am of the belief that the board became concerned with the negative football and the mounting negative press the club were getting, specially post Friskgate. But I also believe Mourinho and Abramovich parted on good terms and that Mourinho wanted/needed another challenge.

It would be hypocritical if you weren't talking bollocks. Benitez was hated for comments leveled at Chelsea whilst being in charge at Liverpool. Eto'o did make comments then retracted them when after he actually worked for the man. There were some that hated the fact Eto'o came to Chelsea but most if not all have warmed to him. Anyway, football is full of hypocracies.
