I do find the notion very strange that people abused as a child go on to being abusers themselves. Gary Glitter is an example of that. He was a care home kid. He never knew his father and was brought up by his mother until he was ten and she couldn't cope anymore and he was taken into care where he was abused by the very people who should have been caring for him. I can sympathise with the fact that he was abused but then going on to be an abuser himself is where my sympathy ends. He's still a very nasty paedo. So let's not forget that.
From Popbitch. >> Mime after mime << Playing live at Glastonbury Everyone became so obsessed and outraged about whether or not Dolly Parton was miming at Glastonbury that they somehow failed to notice a number of other big names who phoned in large sections of their sets. - Metallica had a ProTools playback rig with them. - Lana Del Rey brought half her vocals with her on disk. - Goldfrapp had two keyboards that weren't plugged in.
Hmmm... yes there is that EP. Fortunately, thanks to iplayer you can pick and choose the acts you want to see and those you don't. Bit like going to the different stages and tents whilst you're there. A win win situation?
Hmm... well to be honest I'm not really interested in the headline acts. Not interested in watching a band play in a field either. Too many people. I'd have preferred it if they'd shown more from the smaller stages. They can be found on iPlayer though. I'll stick to watching bands in small clubs.
Is it just me but I found the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury desperately dull this year and all the headline acts totally uninspiring. It really does suck corporate cock these days.
