I've heard people say the same sort of thing about reggae. Ignorant cloth-eared dingbats.
  2. He is isn't he. Was hugely impressed. Think I spotted you BR. Were you wearing your Man City scarf? I'll say hello next time.

He didn't write his own material though did he and he wasn't a band.

The Beatles did it first and better than anyone else.
  5. I had to pay ?79 for my ticket against West Ham in the Cup. Bloody fortune and we lost too. Ouch!. Speaking of Dulwich Hamlet. I finally got to a game there on Saturday for the first time since I was a kid in the 60s/early 70s. Great atmosphere and the quality of the football impressed me. They have a very good number ten. I'll be back there next weekend against Harrow. COYD!
  6. Skunk is shit. Too much THC. Keep it natural. Straight from the ground like nature made it. Legalise it, let's pay taxes on it like alcohol and cigarettes, sell it at the chemist and put the dealers out of work.
  7. A typewriter, a bottle of Bells and an ashtray.
  8. Or a geek? Doesn't everyone in office use a computer anyway?
  9. I concur.
  10. As far as I know it won't affect the caf?, which will remain open.
  11. What a double crossing bastard. I really hope that this can be resolved but it doesn't look good. Whatever happens, best of luck, Chris.
  12. I used to go and watch the Redskins occasionally back in the early 80s but stopped going after I was ejected for drinking (very copiously I might add) from a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label, most of which I'd consumed before my arrival. Barstewards!
  13. Sub-editors are a dying breed.
  14. Hmm... Have you tried the Tottenham Hotspur website? Link here for the Europa League game http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/dnipro-ticket-news-060114/?&tm_link=tm_homeA_4_f3 Or, as Sammo has suggested try stubhub.
  15. When you screw up you've got no one else to blame but yourself.
  16. That was the UEFA Cup, Mac. The second time we won it. Tony Parkes was the reserve goalie (currently a goalkeeping coach at Spurs) who was the hero. We were the first British club to win a European trophy by winning the Cup Winners' Cup in '63 by beating Athletico Madrid 5-1 in the final. I doubt you'll remember that.
  17. Sorry it's the Daily Heil... Now doctors say e-cigarettes do help you quit - and could save millions of lives... so why are petty bureaucrats intent on banning them from public places? 18. Aah...The Cup Winners Cup. We won that as well. :-)
  19. The UEFA Cup in its new format (Europa League) is a bloody hard trophy to win and only becomes interesting in the later stages. There are far too many games and far too many minnows from Nowheresville for my liking and it is a major gripe when teams from the Champions League drop into it because they weren't good enough in that competition. Playing Thursday and Sunday is also a pain in the arse. There was nothing wrong with the old format of the UEFA Cup, a trophy Spurs have won twice before. It was a much more prestigious competition then. That said, I've mostly enjoyed our forays in it over the past few seasons as AVB took it far more seriously than Harry Redknapp ever did. It remains to be seen how Tim Sherwood will approach it but seeing as we're in it I'd like us to win it.
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong PD but Man Utd won two-nil didn't they? Perhaps you spoke too soon, eh? Keep your powder dry next time old bean. These statements do tend to come back and bite you on the Arse. Something I've learnt to do myself over the years. All this Man Utd are doomed nonsense is a bit much really - BR take note - I think they're going through a similar period that Liverpool have been in recent years, who by the way, seem to be doing rather nicely at the moment but I suppose we can all enjoy a little schadenfreude whilst they do so but they'll be back. They are too big a club not too. Let's hope it takes a while longer though, bit like Liverpool again. A finish outside of the top four would perhaps give their fans a healthy dose of realism.
  21. Lovely bit of skill here from Gareth Bale. Bloody hell, we've missed him. Irreplaceable.
  22. "Bob" at "Bob" Towers.
  23. It took huge bravery for Thomas Hitzlsperger to make that statement. Admitting that he'd played for West Ham.
  24. By a country fecking mile my Album of Year would be Champagne Holocaust by Fat White Family.
