i didn't get my notes through PALS, but at the meeting with the midwife at the hospital (Cathy Walton), we went through the notes carefully and like people have said before it was rather revelationary understanding the cause of the problem - at time of emergency c/s we were just told baby was unhappy, i had a temp and that was that - but the doctors were meanwhile writing in the notes how baby was trying to come out sideways and that was never going to work....

Hi, I'm also due with my 2nd after an emergency C/S first time round and finding it very difficult to decide whether to go for VBAC or elective C/S. To be honest my gut instinct is to go for C/S - planned/controlled/and in my eyes a whole lot easier than the birth process - I think whats holding me back is the gentle pressure from friends/family/society/Kings to "at least have a go at VBAC". Yes it has 70% success rate but that also means 3 of 10 end up going through labour and having an emergency C/S all over again which I really want to avoid. We also met with Cathy Walton but to be honest really felt she was trying to encourage us away from an elective C/S which was actually unhelpful especially with the emphasis being on how VBAC was better for the baby so I left feeling guilty for wanting a C/S. However, she made it clear it was totally our choice - having had a C/S before we were completely at liberty to ask for C/S so regardless of their preference if you want one you get one. We still haven't committed to C/S but pretty sure we will. I'm due in November - what about you? If you fancy meeting up for a coffee we could hash it out together??!!

apparently both tesco's broken into. Just spoke to a friend who is at The Rye pub (tables and chairs up against the doors) - on their way in a group of yoofs were handing out scratchcards they'd nicked from one of the tesco's....

we've been looking into this too and are thinking about this: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80120579 its supposed to be the slide out bed under a single bed but would work on its own and you can obviously buy it on its own - cheap (?65)and low down which is handy for a first-time bed...

Advice on route from ED to Grays (Essex) with pram please!
Grotty replied to Vik's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I start work in Romford at 7.30!!! so figured the bus/train combination wouldn't be too bad - its the coming home in rush hour bus that makes me nervous. Hopefully when the overground comes to Peckham next year they'll live up to their promise of putting in access lifts for those who can't manage stairs.. -
I also had/have this - last pregnancy had bad nausea from 5-15 weeks with similar nausea in car/bus journeys from about 30 weeks onwards. Currently 24 weeks pregnant and get nausea surfacing if i've been in the car (as a passenger) longer than about half an hour....

Advice on route from ED to Grays (Essex) with pram please!
Grotty replied to Vik's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Avoid Peckham Rye with a pram - there are 2 flights of stairs up to each platform - its a pain. I'm about to do a similar journey - peckham to Romford, Essex - not with a pram, but i'm 6 months pregnant so want as easy a journey as possible. After much deliberation i decided on the 78 to liverpool st station then train out to Romford - decided that getting on/off trains and up/down stairs in rush hour was going to be too irritating... -
Its all done at the same time and you get the results on the same day - scan takes about 40 minutes and you then have bloods done straight away - we then waited in waiting room for 30 mins when they called us back and told us combined results.

It is definitely worth it, but i admit to buying 4 boxes and only got through 2 - used it with most baby washes for first 6 months, but then needed it less and less - have 2 boxes remaining saved up for next baby...

I had mega-crush on Roger Stirling from MadMen, which has since dissipiated! Also, on driving no.1 home from nursery (whilst pregnant with no.2) i turned around to see she had no shoes on - thought dammit i left them at nursery, how silly. Got out the car once home (5 minutes drive) to find them happily sitting on the roof of the car - must have been a funny site. p.s. happy for comments to go on website and for username to be used. -

Hello - I also agree it was lovely - we should start planning something more regularly! However, i have to apologise - have just this minute realised I left without paying!!! I'm Lucy and was the first to leave when my husband came to give me a lift home. It completely slipped my mind to pay - whoever paid for my cup of tea, i thank you very very much and owe you big time! not great for first impressions - i'm very embarrassed! Anyway, i look forward to seeing you all again, and particularly looking forward to maternity leave. I stop work sometime at the beginning of October - not planned quite yet, so am free weekends until then x
