I was buzzed twice in the space of one and a half hours tonight. Neither came to anything so I can't call them thieves but posting for awareness. As I cycled up towards the top of Woodwarde Ave at about 8.30pm one came up very close behind and then alongside me, pushing me in towards the parked cars. I braked hard and shouted something stupid, as you do, like, 'are you trying to push me off?'. He then braked a few yards ahead and started shouting abuse at me about my '#hit bike' and me not paying road tax (hello, you can own a car and a bike). He then rode off, looking back at me from time to time. He was young, very dark skin, greyish moped, I think with an L plate on the front, a light-coloured helmet worn partly back off his head, and I think a Deliveroo box carried on the front. Later, cycling back up CPR about 9.50pm a very similar guy, except no turquoise box, passed me two or three times driving up and down the road looking closely at everyone he passed. I assumed the first one was going for my bike panier, but like I said, nothing was taken so I could be wrong. I suppose it could even have been sexual - female in a pretty dress seen from behind, so he wouldn't see I'm older at first. Theft more likely though. Tried calling 101 twice, once at DLC (thank you to the very nice girls on reception tonight) and once when I got home, but couldn't get through so gave up. I've tried the online tool a couple of times before and it seems to be a dead end or placebo. Getting really tired of all the antisocial behaviour every day. If anyone knows of a campaign to fix the policing crisis without actually joining a right wing party, please tell me. And be careful out there.

Ideas for self-catering break in UK

Caravan outside the Grove Tavern. Woods, green chain, golf course, tennis and lido on your doorstep, yet close enough to pop home to check you didn't leave the gas on. -
I'd like to nominate someone else's man, the one I passed at about 9pm tonight as he he walked down the hill from Sydenham Hill station towards Dulwich Village. There were a few others in front of him and behind, and he was smartly dressed in a dark suit, so I assumed he'd just got off a train and was coming home from work. As I cycled past in the other direction, he stopped and took a load of papers or packaging out of his bag and chucked it into someone's garden. I called, 'I saw that', but he just stared and carried on walking. He has dark skin, I should think Indian subcontinent in origin, late 40s, bit overweight. So that man's partner's reading this, he needs a serious talking-to.

On the previous thread I suggested (among other things) calling an employment lawyer. The first consultation is usually free and at the end of it they'll tell you whether you have a case and on what grounds. Whether or not you have to recourse to legal actions it's helpful to know and you can use it as a lever in conversations with the employer.

eczema remedies - foods to eat/avoid/ juice fast??
Robert Poste's Child replied to Minitoots's topic in The Lounge
Lots of people with eczema seem to have a problem with dairy. If you have some money and time to do it, I recommend Homefield Grange in Northants, where you can do a supported juice fast including treatments like live blood testing (ETA and allergy testing) before and after so you can see the difference after taking dairy etc out of your system, plus detox treatments and colonics to help clear things. Sometimes just taking a break from everything helps the body tell you more clearly what the problem is. https://www.homefieldgrangeretreat.co.uk/ -

How about the new CEO of the Dulwich Estate on her plans to develop the area? People who live in the Dulwich Estate almshouses. The community greenhouses in Brockwell Park or people at local allotments. Friends of Nunhead Cemetery. The person working in the ticket office at a local station. History and residents of the Peabody Estate in Herne Hill.

Cycling in ED and surrounds
Robert Poste's Child replied to niall's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That reminds me, Southwark offers 2-3 training sessions free to residents. I'd been cycling for years but wanted to feel more confident cycling into central London and on my third session they literally took me along the route practising how to deal with the (to me) riskier bits. That was before some of the new bike routes and it helped a lot. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/cycling/cycle-with-confidence -
Why would you need to invoice for work done as an employee, let alone give them your UTR? Doesn't make sense to me. Speak to an employment lawyer. It needn't cost you anything as the first consultation should be free and should lead to them telling you whether they think you have a case and on what grounds. Alternatively, make a nice sign saying what's happened and sit politely outside their door till it's resolved. Oh, and as it's been a year you should charge them ibteresy and any costs you've incurred as a result of it.

Dulwich Park, College Rd, right through Kingswood Estate, left onto Alleyn Park, cross top of Croxted Rd using pedestrian crossing, back roads past Park Hall trading estate (inhale deeply to enjoy the scent of freshly ground coffee, Chestnut, Ardlui, Idmiston, loop back to go up Alleyn Park Rd, back down Alleyn Park (can never remember which is which but both quiet), then either right down Hunts Slip Rs (eyes left for fabulous nighttime cityscape), College Road, back to Dulwich Park. Add loops to Brockwell Park and/or over Peckham Rye to Nunhead Cemetery for offroading. That could also lead seamlessly to Wood Vale, Brenchley Gardens, Camberwell old and new cemeteries and One Tree Hill. You can't cycle through Dulwich Woods or Sydenham Hill nature reserve unfortunately. Another nice one is the old Surrey Canal path from Peckham library to Burgess Park. Or Brockwell Park then follow quiet cycle route to Clapham Common. -

'Butthurt'? Tell me that's a typo. -
Thanks for sharing that. I could have used it earlier but gave up and went out instead.

Parent & baby spaces at Sainsburys ED
Robert Poste's Child replied to worldwiser's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Dunno. I've seen people park there to drop their partner off then sit there smoking or whatever waiting for said partner to come out, often with the engine running. My guess is selfish people won't give a damn what other people think because they believe they come first. Ditto the kind who leave their car in the picking up area by the cash machines. -
Not you either. Female, apparently. Moos fits the bill but she hasn't been in for a while I don't think. Siouxsie, Peckham Rose, PGC perhaps?

How are you keeping cool in the ED heat?
Robert Poste's Child replied to trinidad's topic in The Lounge
Got your wish, Sue. It's lovely. -
Might it be a bit too cloudy? Now it's cooler I'm going to put earplugs in and SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP.

I'm guessing it's not you, then, robbin! (Not me either, by the sound of it.)

And the orange/white ones. Part of the mugger facilitation programme.
