gallinello Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- TLS, politics aside, have you visited the Mediatheque at the NFT yet? You can see films from a Lost London 1896 - 1945, all for nothing; along with over 1,300 titles from the National Archive of the BFI. I think there's even a few Ken Loach titles in amongst them, along with Humphrey Jennings, Grierson and lots of public information/WW II propaganda shorts. Enjoy, if you can tear yourself away from this bloody Forum, that is ! Thanks I may well do that. The Lady who rang me and suggested next Thursday is my age also and she might be interested in that, as well. ( thats if I can pull her away from Mountain-Biking, lol) The Forum? Blame the ruddy English weather! I gamble for a living on Betfair in the afternoon/evenings, when I'm not working at The Racetrack, so that is why The Forum is so convenient but I've wanted to take a break all week and get The Riverboat down but the ruddy weather has prevented this happening. Maybe today Galli.. -
SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Tony for the love of all that's good and holy - stop dragging race into every goddam thread. You have plenty to say on it in the other thread - leave it there You are right Sean. We will leave it there but its just soooo frustrating for someone like me who would desperately want every Anti-Social person, of ALL Races, to be caught and dealt with by The Law, to observe that one of the reasons that this does not happen as much as we all would like is that many people are so tentative in offering a description which can only help, surely. People on The EDF are NOT stupid enough to then classify everyone else of a fairly similar description as a potential threat, I'm certain Sean.

RosieH Wrote: Tony.London Suburbs Wrote: As someone who, almost certainly, socialises with a higher proportion of friends from different Races than anyone else on EDF, Really Tony? I'd never have guessed you felt that to be the case... My "guess" is that many on here have never had a Partner from o/s their own race ( I know you have Rosie). Have only a small handful, at most, of social acquaintances ( other than work). However LOL They DO know the "nice Asian Man at The Newsagents" and their "nice local Doctor" and apart from the occassional Guy down the local pub joining who is part of their Group, thats probably about it. Of course all those who are covered by this description will say nothing and the few ( if any) who do not fit this description will only be to ready to respond by telling me, in their case, that this is not so. -
*Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We could have a 'Tony' section. It wouldn't be short on content. If you want to be serious for a moment then. I wasn't going to post what I, immediately. thought when I saw this idea but I will now. Its absolutely pointless posting about any crime ON EDF ( I DO empthasise "EDF") as the victims then do triple summersaults and 4 back-flips, anything, in fact, NOT to reveal the identity of the perpetrators to "avoid any offence" or "not cause unnecessary stereotyping" thus severely DEcreasing the chances of the perpetrators being caught and INcreasing the chances that they will strike again. Why shouldn't they continually strike if the victims are so pleasant and polite that they do not even want to give a description of them, on the occassions where they are able to. Common sense tells one that this will only encourage them to continue their nefarious ways. p.s Patronisation Alert....they DO mean well by not describing their assaillaints but I fear it has the reverse effect. I know if I was a criminal I would be highly delighted that my victims would not want to give a description of me in case it causes offence. So on The EDF I would say "Don't bother, seriously"..anywhere else I would say its a great idea for people to CHOOSE to read the threads, if they so desired and the stronger the description and the circumstances described the better.

Thanks Jeremy. -
There should definitely be a Clown section. The many Graduates ( some with Honours) from Clown College on here could contribute freely. I, for one, was particularly impressed that the "clowns abducted by kid" thread was so well-received on here and that this topic was treated with the utmost seriousness by The EDF.. Clowns being abducted by anybody, children or otherwise, is certainly NO laughing matter. Actually I think I may have that the wrong way round....

Next week from The 25th/28th June Greenwich+Docklands International Festival returns with a water-themed programme for 2009. The story of Greenwich and Docklands has been shaped and defined by water and, using this inspiration, the Festival will commission and present a range of extraordinary UK and international artists to provide a visionary water-based interpretation of the area. Highlights will include a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Baroque composer Handel with an outdoor son et lumiere inspired by the Thames entitled Water Music, as well as the UK premiere of French company Ilotopie?s Fous de Bassin, a poetic spectacle in which the performers will literally walk on water..... For more information just type "Festivals.org" into Google. Sounds like fun, see you there Guys:-$ p.s Its Free...:)

Sherwick Wrote: Only in your mind. You seem an honest Guy. As you venture around London over the next few weeks tell me your observations about who socialises with who ( NOT work related, obviously). If you can't see that most Students and adults interact with their own Race, PRIMARILY I'll be astonished Sherwick... -

Sherwick Wrote: Tony.London Suburbs Wrote: ultimately, most people prefer living and socialising within their own Race, whether some like it or not.... Well I don't. What's more, I know many others that don't too. In fact, I couldn't give a rat's ar*e what race people are that I socialise with. As someone who, almost certainly, socialises with a higher proportion of friends from different Races than anyone else on EDF, I tend to agree Sherwick but it looks like we are in the minority Nationwide .... -

Huguenot Wrote: ....real consequences of his jinogoist views, here's the link "extreme patriotism in the form of aggressive foreign policy".[1] In practice, it refers to the advocation of the use of threats or actual force against other countries in order to safeguard what they perceive as their country's national interests, and colloquially to excessive bias in judging one's own country as superior to others ? an extreme type of nationalism. Thats a definition of Jingoism Huguenot. I've long since realised that your views of my beliefs do not take account anything that I've actually written but you have excelled yourself this time. Take the utter garbage you have written above about my "jingoistic" views, lets see shall we.... Based on the above definition, apart from the fact that: 1/ My patriotism is not extreme in any way. OR THAT 2/ I'm not agressive in any way and do not approove of any aggression on racial matters OR THAT 3/ I do not advocate the use of threats or actual force against anyone from any other country in order to safeguard anything OR THAT 4/ I do not use ANY bias, excessive or otherwise, in judging one's own country as superior to others Other than those 4 caveats, you might have a point. I even wrote on my previous post prior to yours that "Nobody is saying that one race is superior or inferior to any other ..".. What I AM acknowledging that there ARE Cultural differences between most/all Racial Groups and that the overwhelming majority of people in this Country of ALL Races would choose to live and socialise amongst their own Race, preferably. I wasn't going to add what I observed yesterday but it simply re-inforced what I learnt around 25/30 years ago and have observed on most days since. In the White Area of New Eltham last night I saw 6 Guys from another Race altogether then 2 minutes driving time later, another 17/18 of the same Racial Group and every Member of that Group were of the same Racial type ( Black in these cases). I did not see any other Black Guys through the whole of driving through New Eltham apart from these Groups. These 22/23 Teenagers clearly CHOSE to be solely with their own Racial Group. I'm sure if asked they would say that they can identify more with their own Racial Group, have a shared Culture and have, generally, more in common with each other than anyone else. Nothing wrong with White Guys/Jewish people/Asians/East Europeans/Turkish/Greeks/Black Guys doing that but NOT to notice that this, "generally", is the case throughout the streets of London is either ignorant of the truth or delusional, as it doesn't fit in to the way YOU WANT IT TO BE.... As I've said before it does NOT mean we should not get on well with each other and treat each other with equal respect but, ultimately, most people prefer living and socialising within their own Race, whether some like it or not.... -
On the news now. He is suspected of over 100 offences in South London and Surrey for 2 decades now. Victims are usually around 80 years old. His usual modus operandi is to break into homes through the rear window and cut the electrivity off. However, word has gone out from the Authorities not to be over worried as cases these days are very rare.

Marmora Man: This will be an admirably brief thread, don't worry. If he pleases and continues to please his audience then that is all that really matters. Not an Artist I've ever been drawn to but I doubt if Elsie will be too worried about that.:))
