  1. Oh Linda I remember that - though I was never brave enough to adopt that style ! Will PM you .
  2. As a driver and cyclist I wish drivers would use their INDICATORS when using Goose Green roundabout . Many of those travelling down Lordship Lane and heading west down East Dulwich Rd seem to rely on telepathy to convey their intended route.
  3. My mum wants to know why the " games makers " have a whole uniform ,including shoes and a bag . She says a simple sash would do .
  4. Ok - thank you very much for replying and easing my troubled mind !
  5. Thank you both . But won't London Bridge be a no no ? I keep reading about hot spots ..... I'm inclined to believe you both - I'm just infected by this insane Olympics stuff by doing too much research .
  6. Having looked on various sites ( tfl ,BBC ,Getahead ) I now have a blinding headache . It seems to me that although the roads and underground will be busy ,the buses ( 36 ) seem to be running normally . But presumably the beach volley ball at Horseguards Parade and live screening at Hyde Park will have particular impact . TFL journey planner doesn't show increased travel time . What do people think ? Bus all the way ,allow ? 90 mins Underground from Victoria ? Please help ,there is so much info on line ,I'm not sure I'm nmaking sense of it ......
  7. Yes ,I have tried that ,endlessly . And Southwark's site ,and the BBC . Am now despatching partner to Peckham to question police .
  8. Can anyone help with my query ?
  9. I've been trying to check ( on the getahead site )for impact on roads around Peckham during todays Torch Relay . As far as I can see there will be none . I find this hard to believe . Has anyone else looked ,can they give a link ? Or even better just give the details .

  11. Re: Timings for Torch route along Peckham High St/Rd on 26 July Posted by Applespider July 22, 02:56PM It's not that hard to find the street by street timings around. The BBC torch site has them - and lets you know if it's on schedule on the day... [www.bbc.co.uk] Be warned - crowds tend to start gathering at least 30 minutes beforehand. I think the points listed here are the actual torch 'kisses' where it's busier but you do get to see it for longer than when it's just going past. 10:30 Old Kent Road A2 10:41 Trafalgar Avenue B215 10:47 Sumner Road B215 10:52 Peckham Hill Street B215 10:56 Peckham High Street A202 10:57 Peckham Road A202 11:00 Lyndhurst Way 11:00 Harris Academy at Peckham 11:57 Lyndhurst Way 11:57 Peckham Road A202 12:05 Camberwell Church Street A202 12:09 Lambeth 12:09 Denmark Hill A215 12:10 Coldharbour Lane A2217 12:30 Acre Lane A2217
  12. A million thanks applespider . I didn't realise that the info I wanted would be on the BBC website and not the official 2012 site . And I am very grateful that you've reproduced the itineray as having read the instructions on the BBC site ,my brain has gone into lockdown . Feeling very stupid !
  13. I believe it's predicted to pass bottom of Bellenden Rd about 11am ? Will be ( note absence of adjective " want " ) taking elderly mother in wheelchair to view and can't cope with uncertainity about time . I've looked on 2012 site which gives route but haven't seen anything about times . Please don't tell me I've got to sign up for twitter to access info .( grumpy )
  14. Lots about migraines here http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/1514330-tell-me-about-your-migraines-and-other-superbad-headaches-please
  15. No you're not the only one who's not interested . I bet people in Leytonstone are though - but not in a good way . http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/jul/06/secret-olympics-deal-aircraft-london?INTCMP=SRCH
  16. If it's known that the poster in question is posting malicious comments ,is it not possible to block the posts ? I don't understand these things but I've seen posters on here referring to bans ,or being banished to a part of the Forum .
  17. I don't understand why one presumably spurious post has meant that the whole thread has been removed . The school hasn't posted on here before ( or am I mistaken ? ) , I've always felt that the absence of their comments was deliberate . Possibly not wanting to prolong any possibly damaging debate . Is it likely that they will respond to Admin's request ?
  18. I can't find it . Am I looking in the wrong place ?
  19. mik - glad you've explained your rather misleading post . Tho I think it's a bit unrealistic to have expectations that all posts on here will be constructive .
  20. "There are a few newcomers to Dulwich who seem to have migrated from Peckham to Lordship lane" checked their passports did you ?
  21. I can't help wondering what the aim of the open day is .... to open people/childrens eyes to job opportunities in the NHS maybe ? It seems a lot of additional work for already busy people . And Kings advertising themselves with the " As seen on A&E " reference TV series . Is that in case people don't know what the hospital is ?
  22. Oh dear . Which roads were they visiting ?
  23. kittysailing has recently posted http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,900240 about a TV programme which she produced - maybe she could help ?
  24. Covent Garden is good for hanging around ,watching street performers ,drinking coffee . There's the london transport musuem there and used to be another little museum type place with old fashioned curios - penny in the slot etc .
