  1. " Planning Enforcement has been scaled back by the current administration" scaling back ? you'll be telling me next that this government and the last made massive cuts to LA expenditure !
  2. It's completely outrageous .Why isn't whatever relevant Southwark department that has responsibilty for planning control ,taking action ?
  3. Phone Southwark 020 7525 2000 and speak to someone . Are you households that are not able to have a wheelie bin ? If so ,then you do need to put rubbish in clear bags ,which they supply . But this has been the case for a long time and isn't new .
  4. Thanks .
  5. Which way did you go ? Forest Hill to East Croydon ? Is the ?5.80 one way ?
  6. These http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00V2A2IE8/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003D5WQFG&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1E0B39J7QPXM55SKJ7A7 are good and my preferred method .Leave against a skirting board with entrance positioned adjacent to wall ,bait with apple, chocolate etc . Very effective at catching mice .
  7. I friends who live in Oakhurst who have remarked on this .They've commented on the practice of dumping small stuff next to the paladins rather than in them .
  8. Thank you Sidhue ,that sounds right . And as though no decision yet on the planning for the 2 extra flats ?
  9. Although looking on line again the appeal decision is given as "appeal made against non determination " . Is that Southwark appealing against a non determination based on them not meeting deadlines ?
  10. Not obvious to me but presume the appeal resulted in permission for the third floor and extra flats . Very obvious how critical the developer was of Southwark planners.
  11. Ah ,ok ,got it .Minor planning application .http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk/documents/?casereference=15/AP/1186&system=DC Gone to appeal .
  12. Thanks James .Have you got the planning ref.for the third floor developmement ? I can't find it .
  13. Planning seems to be for 8 flats ? http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9563213 Or have I missed something ?
  14. Copied from firstmate's post of Jan 5 on James Barber's "can I help thread " and moved here at Admin'e request . "James, to be clear, do the developers at the M&S site now have permission to build 10 flats? Do they have permission to build two penthouses on a fourth storey (their appears to be structures in place for a fourth storey)? Can you confirm status of each? If permissions for above are not in place what actions will Planning take? If the Developers go ahead and build without permissions and in contravention of planning policy, what will be done? Can you also confirm if permission for a sub station is in process/ likely to be granted? If not, what happens next? If we find out that large delivery vehicles cannot turn to exit from the site, but instead have to reverse out, what actions will be taken? Multiple planning applications were passed on the basis that there would be room for vehicles to turn on site. You advised residents to write letters of objection to M&S. Have you, or will you, be writing to M&S CEO on residents behalf? I am sure you will agree that the above are important questions, we cannot accept that developers are free to operate in direct contravention of planning policy. "
  15. Will do Admin .But reason discussion has been on here was to enlist JB's help and powers ( knowledge/links ) in planning matters .
  16. James ,no word from me about balls being dropped . Firstmate repeatedly asks pertinent questions to which I also would like answers/clarification . I'm horrified to think that a building might be progressing without proper planning consent . I have been directly affected by several planning applications made over the last 20 years . I'm seeing a big increase in errors on Southwark's on line planning documentation .One recently where it was impossible to tell whether permission had been granted or refused - because the officer's recommendation had been rejected and the paper work not ammended before putting on line . I'm also seeing reversals of previous decisions with no substantial change in plans . So all in all I'm pretty worried about planning decisions and feel that now ,more than ever ,residents and councillors need to do all they can to keep on top of applications and projects . As for planning conditions and there enforcement - the process seems no more than window dressing . I'm sure many of us have examples of how inadequate enforcement are , Crawthew Grove anyone ?

  18. You're right . I'm a bit gobsmacked by the developments on the Iceland site .How can this happen and planning is silent ?
  19. " I am still interested to know how the info got out, where and when? What is Planning's reaction to this clear breach flouting of policy. Are we really meant to go begging for the ear of M&S' CEO? Is this how local planning decisions are now being made? " you and me both firstmate !
  20. Below is from https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/389388/School_Admissions_Code_2014_-_19_Dec.pdf 1.42 When changes are proposed to admission arrangements, all admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements (including any supplementary information form) that will apply for admission applications the following school year. Where the admission arrangements have not changed from the previous year there is no requirement to consult, subject to the requirement that admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period. 1.43 For admission arrangements determined in 2015 for entry in September 2016, consultation must be for a minimum of 8 weeks and must be completed by 1 March 2015. For all subsequent years, consultation must last for a minimum of 6 weeks and must take place between 1 October and 31 January in the determination year. So my reading is that yes all maintained schools have to consult when changing arrangements or once during 7 years if no change .
  21. eyeing up our cat flat ,gardens between friern and Barry Rd . not seen before ,is it lost ?
  22. Thanks ,that's interesting James . I wonder why Southwark aren't more active in persuing this ? I guess the great cuts in revenue don't help and inspire greater priorities . I have a vested interest which includes a huge dislike of what should be a piece of garden ( with all it's climate ,aesthetic and physchological benefits ) being replaced by a machine. And you can bet that those who park without dropped kerbs won't ensure that requirements re permabilty and water run off are met .
