I suppose you could take this up with a director. One of the two is actually a local accountant, as is the company secretary. :) He also, from the latest AR01 submitted, seems to be the current sole owner. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09180733/officers -

Southwark council tax bill hitting the door mat for 2017 - 2018
ianr replied to trinidad's topic in The Lounge
> We usually get a booklet explaining where the money goes. I've found the 2017/18 edition online at http://www.southwark.gov.uk/assets/attach/1069/Council%20Tax%20booklet%202017-18.pdf (1.2MB). The GLA precept is conventionally included _within_ the council tax figure. But then there's the new Adult Social care precept. From page 4: "This year we have decided to increase council tax by 1.99%, and have decided to use the flexibility offered by the government to support Adult Social Care through a precept equivalent to 3% of council tax, giving a total increase of 4.99%." See page 6 for an example of how it's added to the basic Band D charge. -
> be aware that the council will tell the builders who complained and you may get harassed..... That was personal information which it would be unlawful for a council to release, and public servants should be habitually aware of their duty not to disclose it. See for example two other councils' assurances to potential complainants about confidentiality: http://cms.walsall.gov.uk/index/environment/pollution.htm and http://www.ambervalley.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/pollution/statutory-nuisance-noise.aspx. It's also information that is exempt from an FoI request, as shown in this failure of a person complained about to obtain the information via an FoI request: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i_would_like_the_name_and_addres. If a complainant subsequently appears as a witness in court, that's a different matter, and outside the control of the council. Was it a Southwark officer that you believe released your identity?

Xoco grill - closed for good - Memsaab now open...
ianr replied to Abe_froeman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
> Ianr yes I was told the same. Bob, I was quoting you and simply asking: which of A or B? Anyway, for anyone inclined to fact-check the rumour of simultaneous closures ... The sole director/owner of Xoco Ltd of 44LL, incorporated March 2016, has the same name and birth month as the person who took over Chutney Jane Ltd of London SE, another restaurant business, in September 2015. So possibly the same person. I've seen no evidence of any other catering directorships in his name. -

Usenet uk.legal.moderated could well be helpful on general procedural matters. Details at http://uklegal.weebly.com/. It's also accessible via Google groups, if you don't use a newsreader, at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/uk.legal.moderated. There's actually a recent thread about a counterclaim there now.

As reassurance, the Government notes that that people shouldn?t be too concerned because copyright holders are not known to come after people who make a backup of their computers. ?The Government is not aware of any cases of copyright holders having prosecuted individuals for format shifting music solely for their own personal use,? the IPO spokesperson says. "Makeweight" conveys the insufficiency, but isn't a "Jack of all trades". "Kicked upstairs" too specialised. Is there anything in the "third reserves" sort of area?

Is this the end of shared homes in Southwark?
ianr replied to ivanhoeshmivanhoe's topic in The Lounge
> This guidance is from July 2015. The new regulations, which reduced the occupancy number to 3, came into force in 2016. It's all a bit different from my own house/flat sharing days, and a distortion of the common meaning of 'household'. My reading is that they already had the discretion to treat HMOs that didn't meet the mandatory (5 people, three storeys) conditions, and that they then started exercising it, with approval, under the Additional Licensing provisions. http://www.2.southwark.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/12625/declaration_of_designation_01_january_2016 Are the required conditions daunting enough for most landlords not to bite the bullet? They seem to include much that is already incumbent on any responsible landlord anyway. The licence application cost of a five-year licence is the equivalent of a pound a week per tenant. There has to be one council inspection within that period (not necessarily at the time of application) and they will advise on any defects that they want remedied. I see btw that, at the same time, some areas of Southwark were designated in which properties rented to just a single individual or family were made subject to Selective Licensing, which contains a requirement to comply with prescribed fire safety guidance. There's a map showing them at http://www.2.southwark.gov.uk/info/200077/private_rented_housing/973/property_licensing. -

Bus Lane camera on Dog Kennel Hill
ianr replied to michelleholsgrove's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The definitive document will be the relevant Traffic Regulation Order. If, for example, the order specifies 7am to 7pm, there shouldn't be any PCNs issued for events outside that period, whatever the required signage says. -

If you want TfL's opinion, there's the TfL bus lane database: https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/boroughs/bus-lane-database. Facebook or twitter, for them as use them, looks to be the easiest way of querying it and asking about any changes. Incidentally, they have a general page about bus lanes, filed under red routes(!), at https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/red-routes/rules-of-red-routes/bus-lanes. -
Sharing coursework with course colleagues - would you do it?
ianr replied to Ole's topic in The Lounge
As a possible heuristic, what would be your view if the tutor had suggested that she look at his own draft version of the sort of work that would be required? And is there any useful distinction to be made between having a look at a draft and (as you propose) being given a copy of it?
