  1. Shadowfax were an East Dulwich band based at 24 Matham Grove. A single was released in 1980 on Risky Discs [Risk / 1]: The Russians Are Coming / Calling The Shots [both tracks written by Martin Harris] Does anyone have further information?
  2. > There used to be a great little record shop a couple doors up from the EDT. Could do with one of those now!!!! And they had their own record sleeves. [see image].
  3. I've always had good service from Raylon over many years. Also effective advice and speedy special order service for "difficult" non-stock items.
  4. I notice that forum members make postings about when they will be away from home. This is unwise.
  5. > I believe the whole tone of this thread is a bit snobby I'm not sure it's snobby... Perhaps it's just the new wave of incomers trying to impose their North of the Thames "values" on our community.
  6. > I believe the whole tone of this thread is a bit snobby to be honest [...] Incomers versus residents?
  7. > Half of these places along LL have not been around for five minutes and probably wont be lucky enough to reach a stage where the paint on the outside is starting to peel. Good point. Which is the longest surviving restaurant in Lordship Lane?
  8. And... It's built on the site of the old East Dulwich, Camberwell Borough Council, municipal urinal.
  9. I hear that Southwark Council will introduce a Lordship Lane controlled parking zone in 2008. Is this a rumour or a firm plan?
  10. > Yes, I've heard Goose Green primary has become quite a good school now. And it's nearer Charter School so if you live nearer Goose Green you have a better chance of getting in to Charter I guess. It's not closer (check a map), but it's the child's place of residence, and not the primary school attended, that determines whether a child is within the catchment area.
  11. For The Charter in Spring 2005, if my memory serves, the catchment area was residence within 1.6km of the school gate as measured by a piece of cotton zig-zagging roads on the A-Z. The catchment area may have contracted since then. Why not phone the school?
  12. There's a music shop at 50 Grove Vale.
