I’ve never been offered a choice of who delivers to me from John Lewis. Normally their couriers do ring the bell, but not always. The bad experience with John Lewis was about a year ago when they just left the item sticking out of a recycling box near the front door. It was part of a large order I had made which was broken up unto multiple deliveries. Amazon has got worse in the last 5 months or so. Deliveries used to be trackable for me.

I work from home so don’t need to collect from anywhere.

John Lewis’ delivery companies have left a few items outside my front door without ringing the bell. Other times they rang the bell. It seems to depend on which company is delivering. Amazon also leaves items outside without ringing the bell or even sending me tracking. They used to be very good about this though.

There was/is a specialist dry cleaner in Bellenden Road but don’t know if it is still there.

Childs Podiatrist Recommendation
Azalea replied to poppyprincess's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Are there podiatrists who specialise in taking care of children? Or are they just particularly good with children? -
Whatever it is, please wear a correct mask when you go out so you don’t get anything and if you already have something then you won’t pass it, whatever it is. You said you had some masks that your daughter had given you a while ago so it sounds like you weren’t wearing one. Ask any medics/clinicians treating you to also put on a mask. They will if you ask them.

Please let me know if you have one available.

That is chilling. I hope that someone has reported the ones who filmed themselves having sex with girls/women and then passed the film to other people. They should all be arrested. I remember hearing about a BBC radio reporter called Benjamin Wilkins was arrested in 2008 and jailed in 2010 for filming himself having sex with quite a number of women via a hidden camera in his bedroom. He also had a camera in the bathroom. The footage was discovered by a a girlfriend who contacted a woman in the film and she went to the police. He pleaded guilty to11 counts of voyeurism and sentenced to 8 months in prison. He did not pass the films to anyone else. Info about Wilkins is still out there. Several newspapers including the Telegraph and the Daily Record wrote about it.

So dangerous! Can you be more specific about the road this was in and when you report it? Maybe there’s some CCTV footage available

I have signed that petition. Someone was letting off loud fireworks at about 3 am this morning. They woke me up. I don’t know where they were exactly but it sounded like they were in the vicinity of Dog Kennel Hill.

Glazier needed for Double Glassing Repair
Azalea replied to morlewil's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Did you find one? I’m looking for a recommended glazier too -
I want to try that and also the granary loaf. Used to get a good granary loaf from the bakery that was in Herne Hill a long time ago. Think they are somewhere In the vicinity of Coulsdon now. They used to make the hamburger buns for the Meatwagon/Meatliquor people.

Which bread do you particularly recommend?

Has s anyone used this bakery in Brockley for bread delivery? I’ve been thinking about it for a while. They deliver by bike. If so, what do you have delivered?
-
Do they require a direct debit?

Anyone else having issues with The Gardens Surgery
Azalea replied to MaryT's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This sounds like what goes on at Tessa Jowell GP surgery as well as others. If you can flag yourself up as a ‘vulnerable’ patient or one that can’t use Apps for whatever reason etc then you can usually make appts by phone. They would have to make allowances. Quote the Equality Act 2010, reasonable adjustments section. -
Based on what I’ve seen, you can get yogurt in small glass jars from milkman now if you miss those. Butter and bread is also available. One of the dairies has fresh bread from a bakery in Brockley, but that bakery also do their own deliveries which I had been thinking of trying.

Does anyone on here have one? I’ve found one - Modern Milkman - that is offering 50% off for the first two weeks plus a complementary milk hut. They sell different non dairy items plus bread, jam, eggs and other items.

Looking for good wifi suggestions please!
Azalea replied to Sophie12345's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have Plusnet too. I recently (August) had some problems with WiFi connection on different days but and the turning off and turning on didn’t work. The WiFi didn’t work for quite a few hours - overnight in one case but eventually rectified itself. Would be interested to know how much other people pay for Plusnet. I also have a landline with them as the mobile signal is bad inside house. That is with EE and I want to change from them to another provider. -
Did you know that registered medical practioners are supposed to report a notifiable disease to the UK HEALTH security Agency UKHSA. This includes COVID-19. There’s quite a long list of other diseases they must report too. They include cholera, diphtheria, acute infectious hepatitis A/B/C, acute meningitis and acute enchephalitis.
