I don’t understand why parents think it’s OK to let their children run around in pubs and restaurants, treat them like a crèche and get in the way of the staff trying to do their jobs. It’s so selfish of them to allow this and it’s dangerous and unpleasant for the staff and other customers while they are carrying hot food and drink. I once encountered a rampaging child in a busy ED dog friendly cafe who, on his travels around the cafe, decided to poke, prod and hurt my dog who was minding her own business under the table. I kept telling him to stop, explained that’s not how to treat an animal but he took no notice. I had to stand up in order to shout over to his father who had his back to the room/everyone while staring out of a window. Thankfully he removed himself and the child pdq but no apology was offered. i also remember that Rose, who had Grace and Favour in Northcross Rd, telling me one of the reasons she stopped serving food there was because of the number of customers using it as a crèche.

Have you checked which Indian restaurants are open? Pizza GoGo in East Dulwich Grove once told me they are always open. -
How is your dog? I saw that someone on another thread had posted a link to a newspaper article about a dog killed in Sydenham Woods. I wondered if this was the bichon mentioned by Robocop? What makes a person want to have a dog with such a strong bite/grip that you would have to worry about them causing death or damage to another animal or person? Muzzling them is one thing, but why would you want to have to always keep them on a lead? A friend had an American bulldog (in the US) while her children were growing up, and had to spend a lot of time supervising this dog inside their house because of his powerful jaws. She told me much later that she didn’t know why she got him as it was very stressful. She was a skilled dog owner and had had various breeds of dogs inc. small mutts like shih tzu crosses and Australian heelers/cattle dogs (and still did) since she was a young adult. Sorry in advance to staffy owners, but there do seem to be a lot of staffy/staffy crosses with moronic owners who leave them off the lead even on pavements. This includes men who ride their bike on the road and let their dog run along the pavement. One unleashed staffy in particular used to rush up to my dog who was being walked on the lead. I was assured by the owner that his dog was friendly but the dog had no recall and the owner had no concept that both my dog and I were uncomfortable with this behaviour. No dogs should be allowed to harass other dogs or people. This indicates that you don’t have control over your dog. It’s an offence to allow any dog to be dangerously out of control in various places. This is why Princess Anne was convicted after her EBT bit children in Windsor Great Park.

Has anyone else had problems with M&S sandwich packaging? I’m referring to the ones in the boxes, not the wraps. I don’t buy from there every week. I’ve bought from the one near ED station, Kings College and St Thomas. This has been going on for a while - several years. Either the top detaches from the main part and is open and or a slit appears in the cellophane which appears to have become increasingly flimsy over the years. I talked to a staff member at Kings M&S yesterday (he is leaving their employment next week so seemed happy to talk) who admitted that they have to throw away many sandwiches on a daily and weekly basis because of these problems. I have in the past contacted M&S head office whose attitude was tough, just take it back to where you bought it (or to another M&S) for a refund. I’ve seen sandwiches with damaged open cellophane sitting on the shelves which I’ve pointed out to the staff and they are then removed and disposed of and I’ve had the cellophane split on a short journey from the shop to where it’s been eaten. I bought 3 sandwiches yesterday and after leaving the Kings premises, all three had developed damage by the time they were supposed to be eaten. Kings M&S also sells lots of non UK apples which go bad very quickly or are already damaged by the time you unwrap the packaging which is usually impossible to see through the packaging. Last week I had one staff member replace damaged apples he’d noticed in my basket but the ones he’d given me in replacement were also damaged which I’d only noticed when I got home. These have probably been stored for months and months. I understand that Kings M&S is a franchise. I haven’t used the larger M&S on LL in a while so not sure if they have the same problems.

I really hope that the dogs were chipped so the police can dogs track the owner down. You and your dog must have been petrified. Bull breeds like American bulldogs and even the English Bull Terriers frighten me a lot. I’m also fearful of Akitas as I was bitten by one. Princess Anne had an EBT who killed one of the Queen’s small dogs, (the dog was euthanised as the injuries were too severe) and she also had to appear in court due to one of her EBTs being off the leash, out of control and biting two children in Windsor Great Park. I remember a story on here about someone’s small dog being savaged by an American bulldog. The owner was eventually tracked down and I think the dog was confiscated.

Can’t you consult a property savvy solicitor? -
There used to be a local Curry Club but don’t know if it’s still in existence.

Both. I also had reason to call them last week after I received a text from them which required action. Nothing happened. So had to call again earlier in the week to prod them. Then, in the last 24 hours, 3 more telephone calls. It’s bizarre that they are asking for customer feedback as they won’t do anything about it. The request for feedback came from Omnes Healthcare.

Ha, my grandmother had part of her finger removed as a toddler when she stuck her finger into one. Her mother picked her and the finger part up and ran to the hospital where it was reattached. It left a very visible scar.
