  1. This reminds me of when I used to go to Marshall Street in W1 after work for swimming. I didn’t last long there as the lanes were very overcrowded with other swimmers up against your feet and having to drop back/slow down for someone in front of you unless you wanted a kick in the face. There used to be a fantastic pool in W9 (close to where I used to live) and I’d try to go in the evening, about an hour before closing time or early on Sunday to have a swim and it was delightfully empty. Every friend I took to this pool loved it. I’m sure the times I went there also made the experience better. I don’t think this pool exists anymore.
  2. Hello, was wondering if you managed to find a dog suitable for your family?
  3. Anyone know if they deliver?
  4. I’m happy to report that I got a much earlier prescription review than the 22 September. Not sure what that was down to but I was sent a text to say to expect a telephone call on a certain day and time for earlier this week. It was with a pharmacist and not a doctor. I was later told to expect a telephone call on call on both the 19 and 23 September. They are really pushing the boat out. Not complaining. Also, Dr. Shivji is back working.
  5. Walking to Herne Hill from central East Dulwich (Sue has said she lives off Northcross Road) with a trolley full of books would be very laborious.
  6. I clicked on this link and found it no longer exists and has been decommissioned.
  7. Thanks so much for the information. I called Adam and he sounds extremely lovely and I asked what his hair cut prices are. They too sound extremely lovely if you are on a budget and are more than fifty percent cheaper than the places quoted on this thread.
  8. What is the name of his business/salon?
  9. I’ve been there a few times in the past. It’s shocking to me that a woman’s haircut is £20 more than a man’s - £40 vs £60.
  10. What are the measurements?
  11. Ten years later - How much is the daily rate please?
  12. Called Tessa Jowell GP Surgery today after failing to get two repeat prescriptions from the pharmacy. When I asked the pharmacy, I was told that they had been requested but not sent by the surgery. After speaking to the surgery I was told that those two items were no longer on my repeat prescriptions. I was told I would need a prescription review. Earliest date would be the 22 September. That is utterly ridiculous. Surely someone from the surgery should have contacted me to tell me this after requesting the repeat prescriptions two weeks ago. Also, apparently, there is no point sending an email regarding prescriptions as they are not actioned nor replied to as I have discovered.
  13. If there’s a bank card or similar then call them and they will contact her.
  14. A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic and a visit to Dennis Severs house in Spitalfields
  15. Can you explain why some residents would be made homeless if they are building more accommodation?
  16. Hate people who let off loud fireworks. We had neighbours two doors down who used to let off the extremely loud fireworks in their back garden. This was usually, but not always, on the days around Guy Fawkes and New Year’s. It was torture. I felt as if I was in the middle of them and it seemed as if they were directly outside our windows. I often involuntarily screamed as they were so loud and startling. The dog was petrified and I was worried they would crash into the house or garden. Thankfully they’ve moved and taken their firework obsession with them. I know someone whose dog collapsed and died during a bout of neighbourly fireworks. Many dogs and cats go missing during firework season due to trying to escape from them.
  17. Wouldn’t it be easier to donate to local charity shops?
  18. The OP said in her post that the bakery in Nunhead said they didn’t sell items with fresh cream.
  19. Try Bunhead Bakery in Herne Hill. I’ve seen items with whipped cream on them. They have an Instagram account which also displays photos of cream topped goods.
  20. Yes, unfortunately there are catchment areas for surgeries. Have a look on The Gardens website.
  21. Unfortunately I am one street away from the boundary of The Gardens surgery. Their system sounds too logical for the TJ practice.
  22. You can get dog poo bags from the libraries in Southwark. I don’t know if other boroughs offer the same.
  23. Have you tried Carlton Jefferson?
  24. Sorry to hear this. If you have a garden then put his litter tray and bed outside plus any more items of his which should help him back to the area. Good luck.
